False Assurance

"Wow, she's a crazy one", Tiger commented after hearing of Agent Ko's crazy handling of men.

"Based on what I know about her, she will call me back", Virel mentioned after narrating the agent's love life.

The two minions of his wondered if he was just being overconfident or if he had a reason to back his conviction.

"I don't think that she would call you back", Rat expressed his opinion, which Tiger agreed with.

Virel gave out a slight laugh and said with assurance: "Trust me. She will call in the next five seconds."

As she sat before the steering wheel, Agent Ko looked at her phone, then at her face through the rearview mirror. After recalling what Virel said to her just some minutes ago, she pushed the rearview mirror back, angling it away from her face.

She then asked herself: "Why did I do that? Why did I change my voice?"
