A Grand Send-off

Kim Seul, who saw me first, said to herself: "What is she doing here?"

But Jin Ho, upon seeing me ran at him, took his leg back to South Korea's land and ran towards me. The North Korean soldiers who thought he was about to escape took out their guns, but the Vice-president ordered: "Drop your guns!" And they obeyed the command.

Jin Ho and I ran into each other's arms and embraced so tightly. I thought that I would never be in that warm embrace again but I got the chance to be in it, even if it was our last moment together.

Kim Seul was about to cross over when Jin Ho's grandfather held her back, saying: "Allow him to say goodbye to his girlfriend."

He didn't know that I was Jin Ho's wife, maybe he would have acted differently.

Nevertheless, Jin Ho and I were stuck together for the time being and our reactions were predictable. I kept crying out loud whilst he continued to stroke my hair whilst saying: "Amy, it's okay. I would be back for you."
