4 chapter four

Three more teachers came in and gave their lectures. After that, the bell rang and Maya told me its for breakfast.

"Did you bring your own food?cos if you didn't, we can go and collect from the school cafeteria" Maya informed

Hmm interesting

"I don't have money to buy food from the cafeteria" I told her."Nooo its for free. Like the school gives free food every first week of resumption so,you can order anything you want as long as you can finish it" she informed

Wow. My old school would never even think of such thing.

"I think I will go there tomorrow cos I have my food with me today. Wanna join me?" I asked her. "No thanks. Eat yours up and accompany me to the cafe" she said and I simply replied with ok

I don't want to waste her time and eating in her front is awkward so it just took me five minute to eat my potato and egg.

When she saw I was done with my food,she stood up and hold her hand out to me.

Ooh I never saw that coming. She such a sweetheart.

We walked hand in hand with her to the cafe with was  beautiful and filled with different delicious scents. We took our seats and there are many other students seated also. They were over eighty I guess.

The menu is already placed on the table and Maya took it looking at it probably thinking what to order. A woman who might be in her mid thirties approaches us with a smile.

"Have you seen what you want Maya?" The woman said "yes Mrs Casey. I want some pepper chicken with apple juice please" Maya said

"What of you" Mrs Casey, I think that's her name asked referring to me. "Uhmm nothing" I replied with a smile, she smiled back and left.

"Are you sure you don't want anything?" Maya questioned.

"Yeah I'm good" I answered. Mrs Casey came back with a tray which the pepper chicken with apple juice are on. She kept it in front of Maya.

"Uhmm Mrs Casey, she wants some smoothie" Maya said and the woman nodded then leave

"Maya I didn't say that" I whispered in surprise. "Yeah I know but you have to try this smoothie, its so good" she said giving me an evil smirk.

Mrs Casey came back with my smoothie and I collected it thanking her. I took a drink and it taste as good as Maya described it making my eyes pop out with excitement. "Good right?" Maya asked still with the smirk and I just nodded.

"Sooo tell me about yourself" Maya said. "Ok my name is Ummul Khair Ishaq as you know already. I am a Hausa girl from Kaduna state. I'm the only child of my parent although I had a baby sister but she died when she was six months old. I never really had any friends as I can remember. My classmates always thinks I'm a foolish nerd which I'm not,expect a girl called Paulina. I can't say she was really my friend but she was the one I often talk to not like she gives a shit about me but she is not judgmental like others." I stopped to drink my delicious smoothie.

"My life is usually lonely and so boring. But I have this my uncle, I love him soo much. He's like an older brother to me. He makes my life less lonely. He is my only friend well except for now that you are also my friend" I said smiling.

Maya smiled also and asked "what's this your favourite uncle name?"

"Uncle Haroon" I replied thinking about him. She simply replied with ok and we finished up our drinks and went back to class.
