69 Water

Xu Anyi smiled slightly.

"Sorry, I did do it on purpose."

Xia Yiwei looked up, still in shock as her expression slowly changed from shock to anger. She had spent a lot of money on this dress and now it was all ruined!

And her party had also been ruined because of Xu Anyi!

All the anger and jealousy she had been feeling this entire night exploded as she did not care that all the guests were watching her anymore as her face twisted together and she screamed, "Xu Anyi!"

Then, before anyone could react, Xia Yiwei had lunged forward toward Xu Anyi, grabbing onto her hair.

"Yiwei!" Lu Yuzhe screamed as he rushed over, but she was not listening anymore.

Xu Anyi was obviously not going to just stand there, and she tried to push Xia Yiwei away, but as she did, Xia Yiwei fell backward but continued to grab onto her, and the two of them fell to the side, landing straight into the pool right behind them.

"Ah!" Everyone gasped as Lu Yuzhe rushed over, but it was too late.

Xu Anyi shut her eyes just in time as she lost her balance, and at once, the coldness overcame her entire body.

Lu Yuzhe looked around, and screamed at the nearest person behind him, "Get help!"

Then, he looked into the pool and saw Xia Yiwei flapping her arms up and down, and he remembered that she could not swim.

He hurriedly removed his jacket, and then without a second thought, he also jumped into the pool, swimming to the center where Xia Yiwei was.

The pool was not very deep, and he was able to stand on his toes as he grabbed onto Xia Yiwei and swam back to the shore.

A few other guests had gathered around the shore and helped pull Xia Yiwei up from the water, and Lu Yuzhe also climbed out, pushing his drenched hair out of his face.

Xia Yiwei was gasping for air and coughing violently as she bent over.

"Are you okay?!" Yi Tingting rushed over and asked, helping her as Xia Yiwei continued to choke.

"Yiwei, are you okay?" Lu Yuzhe also asked, bending down next to her and helping her stand up. It had only been a few seconds, so she was still conscious and able to stand.

After she had regained her breath, everyone gathered around her and her entire body was drenched in water, and. . .

She had worn a completely white dress, and the fabric of the dress wasn't exactly thick, and after being drenched in water, the dress had become slightly see-through.

Some girls to the side couldn't help but point it out as you could see her underwear marking inside of the dress, and the dress was sticking awkwardly to the back and front of her legs.

Xia Yiwei noticed this too, and she immediately pushed her legs together, looking over at Lu Yuzhe. She had never looked this discomposed and been this humiliated in public before, and she clenched her teeth tightly as Lu Yuzhe wrapped his suit jacket around his waist and tied it.

She squeezed out a smile as she muttered, "Thank you."

It was all because of Xu Anyi!

Xu Anyi! She was still in the water!

Xu Anyi felt the sudden pain as she hit the water, and then the coldness confined her body, and she could not breathe or see anything.

At once, she felt so cold she wanted to curl up into a ball, but she could not move.

Her brain hurt as she opened her eyes and memories from a long time ago began flashing through her eyes, making her shut her eyes once again.

The sharp pain. . . The high-pitched laughter. . .

She wanted to cover her ears, she wanted to run away, out of the dirty corner of the cramped prison cell, but she couldn't! She had no where to go!

She felt her heartbeat speed up as she flapped her arms inside the water, feeling the pain all over her body as the water hit her. She was screaming, but no one could hear.

The water. . . The water. . . It kept on coming, and coming.

She stopped trying to fight or run away, because she knew that nothing could work against them. She stopped flapping her arms and slowly let her body weight bring her down, into the water.

Why did it seem like she was falling?

Was she going to die here? Was this the end?

Everyone finally turned their attention away from Xia Yiwei and back to the swimming pool when someone pointed out that there was still another person inside, but no one took the initiative to jump into the pool to help pull her out.

Plus. . . Xu Anyi had fallen into the shallow end of the pool, and the place she was at was not deep at all. She could very well stand up in the pool, but she did not seem to be moving at all.

"What is she doing?" Someone asked.

The other guests shook their heads, unsure of whether they should go in and help or not.

"I remember Anyi can swim. . ." Xia Yiwei commented, which stopped many people from stepping forward. If she can swim, then why was she still staying in the water without moving at all? Was she just searching for attention?

Lu Yuzhe frowned and stepped forward, but he suddenly felt Xia Yiwei grab onto his arm and pull him back. He looked back at her and saw her shake her head slightly, and he sighed as he looked toward the pool again.

Finally, after a few moments of silence, a guy standing at the back walked forward, going around to the shallow end of the pool to see what was going on.

Everyone watched the man near the edge of the pool and call Xu Anyi's name, but there was no reaction.

"She can definitely stand up here, what is she doing?" The man asked and then began removing his jacket, "I'm going to go in."

"Probably just wants attention," Yi Tingting commented sourly.

"Yeah, did she think someone was going to jump in the pool to help her too?"

Just as the man was removing his jacket and everyone was talking, the door to the balcony suddenly burst open. Everyone turned to look at the other end of the pool just in time to see a tall man dive into the pool.

"Who-"

The man swam over to Xu Anyi and grabbed onto her, and then without struggling at all, he swam to the shore and pushed her up, then climbed out of the pool as well.

He was at the other side of the pool, and the guests looked amongst each other, wondering who the man was.

He was wearing a completely black suit and although he was kneeling on the ground at the moment, he was clearly tall and lean.

"Excuse me, who are you?" Lu Yuzhe asked as the crowd all moved over to where he and Xu Anyi were.

The man ignored his words and continued to call Xu Anyi's name.

"Sir-"

Then, everyone froze when the next second, the man pinched Xu Anyi's nose shut and then leaned forward, placing his own mouth over hers.
