77 Rejected Eight Years Ago

After she had stepped out of the room, Bai Yu looked up again and put down his chopsticks.

Then, he looked over at Si Mu and asked, "Is this one real?"

Si Mu paused for a second and then put down his chopsticks, raising an eyebrow as he looked over at Bai Yu, "Has there ever been a fake one before?"

Bai Yu frowned but then slowly nodded his head.

Both Bai Yu and Mo Haoyu have been friends with Si Mu since a very young age, and they had never seen him close with any girl before, much less talk with any girl. So, the sudden news came as a surprise to the both of them.

Xu Anyi took a deep breath as she walked around, looking for the restrooms. The restaurant wasn't big as there weren't many tables, and each table was very private, with a few in the main lobby and most of the tables in individual private rooms.

She turned the corner and saw the restroom sign at the end of the hallway, and as she walked towards the restroom, the door was pushed open and a familiar person walked out.

Xu Anyi's eyebrows furrowed together. How unlucky must she be to run into her wherever she went?

Xia Yiwei also noticed her and her expression immediately darkened as she remembered everything that had happened at her birthday party, "What are you doing here?!"

Xu Anyi was not in the mood to argue or even talk with her, because she did not want to look upset in front of all of Si Mu's friends, "What? Does your family own this restaurant?"

Xia Yiwei's expression turned even more sour as she knew that Xu Anyi knew her father was a butler, but just as she opened her mouth to insult Xu Anyi more, Xu Anyi bumped straight into her and walked into the restroom, shutting the door right behind her.

"You-" Xia Yiwei turned around but was talking at a door, and she tried to pull at the door handle, but it was locked already.

She angrily stomped her foot onto the ground and then turned around, marching away. As she reached the end of the hallway, she paused, frowning.

How could Xu Anyi be at this restaurant?

This was the best restaurant in all of City A, and she did not even come here often. . . She was only here with Lu Yuzhe to make up for her birthday dinner.

Xia Yiwei's eyes widened slightly as she remembered the sight of President Si at her birthday party saving Xu Anyi- No, it can't be.

She quickly shook her head and walked away.

"So. . . she is the girl you liked all this time?" Mo Haoyu asked after contemplating Si Mu's words.

Si Mu nodded.

Bai Yu's eyes widened as he seemed to remember something, "Wait. . . No way! The one you proposed to and got rejected by?!"

Both Bai Yu and Mo Haoyu knew about this story since they were already best friends eight years ago when this very unbelievable event occurred.

They still remember that night, they had gathered at a bar, and they had never seen Si Mu that upset or emotional before.

Si Mu frowned at the memory, but he nodded, "I was too impulsive. . ."

Eight years ago, she did not even remember or know him. . . However, she had suddenly left the country for a year and he got scared that she would leave again, so he impulsively decided to ask her father for her hand, and of course. . . he got rejected.

Then, he left as well. . . But that was all in the past now.

"Then how is she together with you now?" Mo Haoyu asked.

However, at this moment, the door opened and Xu Anyi walked in, so the three of them stopped talking. All three of them turned around to look at her, and Xu Anyi felt slightly self-conscious as she smiled and quickly sat down.

"What are you guys talking about?" She asked curiously.

Si Mu placed a large piece of salmon sashimi onto her plate and grinned, "Nothing. Eat."

Xu Anyi did not question him and smiled, continuing to eat.

The rest of the meal went by really smoothly, and Bai Yu and Mo Haoyu were all very polite and nice to her, not asking her any personal questions or any questions about her past, to her relief.

Most of the time, Si Mu talked with the two of them, and they talked about subjects she was not very familiar with, so she kept quiet. However, they would occasionally ask her a few questions too, which she answered happily.

After an hour, they had all finished eating, and there was still a lot of leftover food because they had ordered so much.

Si Mu paid for the meal, and after the waiter had left the room, Bai Yu jumped up from his chair excitedly, "Now that we are done eating, let's go play!"

Si Mu frowned, and Bai Yu immediately retreated behind Mo Haoyu.

"Now that Si Mu has a wife, it's even harder to get him to come out and play with us!"

He sounded like an upset child, and Xu Anyi couldn't help but laugh as she looked over at Si Mu, who asked her, "Do you want to go?"

"Where?" Xu Anyi asked.

Si Mu looked over at Bai Yu, who then nudged Mo Haoyu. He thought about it for a moment then stood up with a smile, "How about a pool club? Sister-in-law, do you want to go?"

Xu Anyi raised an eyebrow, "8 ball?"

He nodded.

Xu Anyi paused for a second then her lips curled up slightly in excitement, "Sure!"
