83 Lucky Charm

However, as she stepped into her room, her eyes widened when she saw another person laying in her bed already.

"Si Mu! Wh- What are you doing here?!"

Si Mu opened his eyes and did not seem bothered at all as he lifted the other side of the blanket up, signaling for her to come in.

"What? We slept together once, and now you don't need me anymore, you want to get rid of me?" He said playfully with a sly smile.

"I- You-" Xu Anyi thought back to the night they had slept together only two nights ago. Yes, she did ask him to sleep with her but why did he make it sound like she was some bad woman who was playing with him?

"I'm tired," Si Mu said with an amused smile as he closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the pillow, "Close the lights and come sleep."

"You-" Xu Anyi wanted to call him shameless but at the thought of his words, she could only say. . . "So shameless!"

Then, she marched over to the lights and closed them before entering the bed. Once she laid half of her body down onto the mattress, she suddenly felt his strong hand pull her waist in, and she was met with a wave of his smell as her face rested close to his chest.

His fragrance calmed her and she wanted to say something else, but the fatigue quickly overcame her and she soon fell asleep.

The next day, Xu Anyi woke up and the space next to her was empty already. She went downstairs and saw Si Mu preparing breakfast already.

"Wash your hands and come eat," Si Mu ordered when he saw her.

She walked over and sat down, putting her phone onto the table just as a notification popped up on her screen.

She picked it up and looked at it to see that Design had posted on their social media. She remembered the picture she had taken after signing the contract with them yesterday, and she clicked in to take a look.

The post was indeed about her, announcing her as a newly signed model of Design.

It had been posted about an hour ago already although she just received the notification, and the comment section was filled with comments of surprise.

'Isn't that the new model? How did she get a contract?'

'I heard Design is very picky with their signed models, this is so surprising!'

'Honestly, I'm not that surprised. If you look at the pictures from the last spring collection, Xu Anyi did bring out the clothes really well. I would hire her too if I was Design.'

'I agree! I saw the last spring collection photos and I was very attracted by her. I never bought Design's clothes before but I bought it this time because of her. I'm glad Design gave her a contract.'

'Am I the only one surprised that she got one but Xia Yiwei did not get one?'

'I know right! Xia Yiwei's fans must be furious right now. I'm not a fan or an anti-fan, but I have to say that in the last shoot, this new model did perform better than Xia Yiwei.'

'Yeah, I can't believe Design gave out a contract to the new model and not Xia Yiwei!'

Xu Anyi quickly read through the comments and saw that the rest of the chain had turned to focus on comparing her and Xia Yiwei, and she closed her phone, beginning to eat breakfast.

"How?!" Xia Yiwei looked at the post on her phone and shut her phone, slamming it down onto the couch, "Xu Anyi got a contract from Design?!"

Her eyes were fuming with anger and jealousy as she clenched her fists together, "Did Design contact you before?!"

Her manager pressed her lips together and slowly shook her head.

"Then what are you doing?! A contract from Design. . ." She stood up, pacing the room. Design had few contracted models so it was quite a big deal, and she had been working for Design for several seasons now, and still hasn't received a contract yet.

"Xu Anyi!" She said through gritted teeth as her nails dug into the palm of her hand.

Xu Anyi's eyes widened when she saw the new notification on her phone that came from her bank. Design had paid her already!

Although it was just the initial payment for signing the contract, it was still not a small sum of money, and Xu Anyi's face sparkled with excitement as she jumped up, counting the number of zeros she had in her bank account now.

Si Mu looked over at her in confusion, and when she felt his gaze, she immediately ran over, just as he stood up from his chair.

She hugged onto him, and he was taken by surprise for a second before he quickly returned the hug, chuckling slightly as he held her up, spinning her around in the air, "What happened?"

Xu Anyi held up her phone to show him, and she smiled proudly, "I'll treat you to dinner tonight!"

Si Mu looked at the new payment in her bank account statement and he chuckled, rubbing her head affectionately, "Okay, I'll be looking forward to it."

Then, there was a knock at the door as a worker walked in and Xu Anyi quietly returned to her couch in Si Mu's office, still smiling sheepishly.

Si Mu's expression also turned serious as he began working, but after Xu Anyi closed her phone, she continued to look in his direction.

Si Mu was really her lucky charm. . . She did not think that after coming out of jail after five years, everything would go so smoothly. However, everything seemed to be going really well after she met Si Mu.

Yes, it must be him!

After coming back from dinner at one of Xu Anyi's favorite restaurants, they got ready for bed, and once again, Xu Anyi found Si Mu laying in her bed when she walked out.

She couldn't help but wonder how he managed to sneak in without making any sounds. Was he a lizard?

She sighed as she shook her head, clicking her tongue, "So shameless, so shameless," she repeated.

Si Mu opened his eyes, looking innocent as he tilted his head to one side, "What are you muttering?"

She looked over at him and frowned, "You are so shameless, always coming over to my room at night!"

She then closed the lights and slowly made her way to the bed in the dark, sitting down on her side of the bed. She then felt his familiar hand as he grabbed onto her and pulled her into the blanket.

Si Mu was not ashamed or angry in any way at her comment, and instead, he smiled proudly as he replied, "It doesn't have to be like this. You can always come over to my room."

Xu Anyi frowned and did not say anything, but she was silently considering the thought as she closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep.
