22 Student and Teacher

Part 1, Ethan's Pov

I never thought I would be spending another day in the infirmary... Lying on my bed, I allowed the mage specialising in healing magic to treat my injuries.

" I swear if you come back here once again... I will first slap and then treat you.".

This was Alya Shen... The same healing mage who treated me when I was rescued from the forest. She was a tall and well-developed woman who wore a white cape with a hood over her uniform. She had blonde hair and blue eyes...

Blue eyes sometimes signified that the person has a talent for healing magic.

" I am sorry miss... I promise I will not come back here." I smiled and answered. We have gotten closer in just two days.

" Sigh... Fighting between kids is alright but you guys went too far. How could you injure that many students so severely?"

" So many?"

I don't remember injuring anyone else except for Albert...

' Did Davis do something? What is he thinking by getting involved in this mess?'

Seeing my face become stiff, Alya handed me something...

" Candy?" I asked.

" Yes!" She replied with a smile.

" Thank you... But why?"

" Because you are not a bad kid... I know about you from the rumours in the academy. I know how difficult it must be for someone in your position."

" I still don't understand."

'Was she flirting with me? N-No... Why would she flirt with me?'

" Eat it when you feel overwhelmed by emotions... You don't need to be so cruel to your enemies."

" Hmm... Alright."

After she left, I unwrapped the candy that she had given me and sniffed... Nothing seemed out of ordinary but I wasn't going to eat it, I wrapped it again and held it in my hand.

I felt paranoid, knowing how many enemies I must have created in a single day.

'What an annoying emotion?'

I didn't like feeling this way... Someone was being nice to me and I wasn't able to trust them.

After some time someone else entered my room... A tired-looking man who is bearing the title of current headmaster in the academy.

" It's nice to see you again... Did you find the demon fox?" I asked.

" We have found the clues but not the demon itself... And I wish we never find such a thing in the first place. Demons are scary only someone like your father... The previous Archmage wouldn't be afraid of a demon, no matter how strong they may be."

" My father was that strong?"

" I am not here to tell you how great your father was, I am here to scold you... And, by the way, why are you speaking so casually with me?"

" Oh... Sorry Headmaster Dion, please tell me why are you here." I spoke in a polite tone.

Dion clicked his tongue... Was I not polite enough? Anyway, I can't tell whether he was in a bad mood or not... His face always appeared to be annoyed.

" Davis Taron brutally injured every student... Be glad that you even got a healer because they are in a much worse condition compared to yours and every expert healer was busy, treating them. They are traumatised by this event ...so much that they get afraid if anyone even tries to get close to them."

'Davis... Why did you do that? Were they bothering you so much? Did you have such a big grudge against them?'

In the end, I never managed to find out what happened between Davis and Albert to make them fight without thinking of the consequences.

" What will happen to Davis?" I asked.

" Not expelled but suspended from the academy for some time... there are many witnesses that say, it was the injured students who initiated everything. Even some of the culprits confessed because your friend had tortured them so much... They are all afraid to even hear his name." Dion spoke and added, " However that's not the only reason... The imperial knights also didn't get involved despite thier prodigy being attacked like this."

" What about the families of the students?"

" The Taron family refused to apologise... Thier might be a conflict between the Fleur family and Taron." Dion spoke.

" What will happen to me?" I asked.

Davis was suspended... That wasn't a harsh punishment for someone like him. It's better this way, I didn't want Davis to get involved in unnecessary conflicts by being around me.

" You are the biggest problem ...Master Vermonk protested that if you are punished by the academy he will leave the academy for good and will never return. So, you were declared not guilty..."

" Phew !!" I breathed in relief. 'Maybe Vermonk did it for Luna, I am glad I am not getting punished for anything.'

" Don't you understand that it might have angered those families even more?"

" They have already made me an enemy... I am fine with them being angrier."

Dion looked at me... No, he was glaring at me while biting on his upper lip.

" When it comes to being careless, you take after Alec..."

" Huh?"

Did he know my father personally? That's a surprise.

" He was once a teacher in this academy and I used to be one of his students... He was a good teacher but reckless."

" You were his student?"

" Yeah,"

"..."

It was fascinating to learn about these things about my father... In my previous life, I never tried to find out about him... Because I knew that many people didn't want me to be interested in what my father left behind for me.

I chose to live a peaceful life rather than seek something like power or wealth.

Even in this life, I have no other ambition except for getting stronger... I don't even want revenge.

" Master Vermonk will come to talk with you regarding something... Probably something about teaching you personally."

" Train me personally?"

According to the memories of my previous life, Vermonk was supposed to be one of the people who became a mentor to Luna. Why does he want to teach me?

" He used to be the teacher of my teacher in other words someone who had taught an archmage..."

It was confusing ...Just how many people were ready to help me, just because of my father.

" Honestly, someone with your talent doesn't deserve a master like him... But it's his decision."

" What does he want to achieve by training me?"

" He said he needs to repay your father for what he did for the world."

' If that's the case then why didn't this guy help me in my previous life? He must have some ulterior motive.'

I wanted to ask Dion more questions but it seemed he wasn't in the mood to answer as he straight up refused to speak anything else about my father.

"... one last thing, student Luna, what was her involvement in the case?" Dion asked.

I guess they don't know that it was Luna who cast a 4th tier spell... Maybe Dion didn't investigate too much for my sake.

" Nothing... Since she is my girlfriend, we were just eating together."

" Are you running low on finances? You ate with your girlfriend in such a shabby place..." He asked.

The expression on his face changed from being annoyed to curious one. Was he the guy who is secretly interested in romance stories?

" Y- Yes, that may be the case," I answered. 'Thinking about it, I spent most of my money on Luna.'

After hearing my answer Dion changed the topic once again and lectured me to not get involved in such accidents again and gave me a warning that he wouldn't help me next time.

After he left, Another person walked into my room...

It was someone I never met before... Or maybe I have met her?

"... I- I heard you wanted to talk to me, I received this love letter from you."

There was a heart-shaped paper in her hand...
