The Ebonwood Demon stood before Max, towering over him with its hands glowing bright red with aura, ready to unleash its power.

Max took a deep breath, sizing up the creature that dared to challenge him.

"Shut up princess or I'm using you as bait," he looked back at her, of course, it was a lie since he wouldn't have saved her in the first place if he didn't need her later, but it was enough to shut her up.

"My name is Laufen, not princess…" she whispered so quietly it was almost unhearable, but Max had enhanced hearing.

"Don't care, just stay back."
