35 New Party Member: The Saintess

"So, what do you want?" Max asked, he had brought Lilia to a nearby restaurant and sat down with her to talk, Elly was standing next to him, a bit suspicious as to why the saintess they had met the previous week was now in front of them.

"Well, I wanted to thank you for saving me once again," she explained, "and I also wanted to give you a reward for your-"

"Wait a damn second," Elly suddenly cut her off, "saving you? Max did that?"

And that's how she told the entire story (or at least what she knew) to the goblin girl, who had her mouth wide open through the entire thing.

"...?" she looked at Max, and he could feel the daggers pierce his heart, he could see why she was mad about him risking his life for this stranger while leaving her alone to worry, but none of them knew his original plan was to kill her.

And so after ten or so minutes of back-and-forth talking about his intentions, Max finally convinced her with the same story he had told Lilia.
