Amidst the commotion, Dracul's eyes widened in shock and concern. 

"COME ON, I'm perfectly vulnerable! Do you want to capture me, or save your daughter?"

He heard the boy's taunt, but he didn't hesitate for a single second: he quickly throttled the air, seemingly in slow motion, as his wings propelled him toward Lilith, aiming to intercept the deadly blade. 

He knew he had to reach her in time to prevent her from being gravely injured, or worse.

It didn't matter that he captured the human if his daughter was dead after all, right?

She was the last thing his late wife left him, and he refused to let her down, no matter what.

'What an idiot,' Max smiled, his crimson blade in hand, ready to attack when the timing was right as he saw the king fly to intercept the shadow blade.

[Luckily for us, they don't know that 'Shadow Slash' doesn't do much damage, it is mostly used to stun opponents :)]
