3 Angel and Powers

"WHAT?"

"Is this some kind of joke?"

"Why are we here?"

Most of the people panicked at her words and started screaming, asking what was happening.

Max, however, remained calm and looked at the situation from an objective perspective, he had already died and come back to life, and the strange words he had heard right before his death had confirmed that what was happening wasn't something normal, or something they would just forget after a day, after all he was an "isekai" fan, and this is probably one of those scenarios he kept dreaming of over and over again, he wouldn't lose this chance.

"Silence," the angel clapped her hands once and silenced the entire crowd, not even letting a sound come out of their mouths, "you will all be very happy with that decision once you realize the power in your hands, look around you and observe!"

And they did, yet they couldn't see anything, the cloud-like floor was stretching to infinity and the black sky was void of anything.

Anything except for...

"WHAT'S THAT THING?" one of Max's classmates pointed at the sky at a red circular object the shape of an eyeball, and immediately as people noticed it, it turned around revealing that it was indeed an eye, its red pupil staring at the dead students as if it was judging them.

Some of them had believed that thing to be the moon, but upon further inspection, they realized just how wrong they were.

"Do not fret children, it is the 'Eye of Fate', it is watching you all and making sure everything goes according to plan" the angel answered before panic took over, after all that thing looked terrifying.

"If I may ask, angel lady," David, the class president and the one that looked the most confident out of the lot, marched forward and asked.

"Do so my child," she smiled, happy someone took the initiative.

"Where will we be sent and what is our goal? Plus what are those powers...?" he asked the big questions everyone had been wondering, and some students quietly thanked him for his sacrifice.

In response, the blonde angel's smile grew wider, "I was just getting to that, now look ahead of you and pay attention," she clapped her hands.

And suddenly... screens appeared in front of everybody.

Everyone had one, but it was invisible to all the others, meaning they could freely concentrate on what was written.

Max also had one in front of his eyes, and he had a hard time containing his excitement, he could say goodbye to his dull life and now travel to another world, but before he exploded, he decided to read what was written.

[Oh, heroes from earth, the world of "Luciana" has been placed under massive threat by not only the demon king, but also by the celestial creatures; we kindly ask you to use your divine powers to aid us to victory in these hard times.]

'I understand the demon king part, but celestial creatures in plural...?' Max wondered, after all, it proved that there wasn't just one singular big boss but many to take care of.

[You will all be linked to one of the divinations, each of them having their own set of skills and powers, meaning it can completely shape your journey, each divination can only be linked to one person though, so each of you will have a unique power.]

"And how do we get those divinations...?" Lucie, another one of the class's top cast raised her hand and asked, she looked excited and didn't bother hiding her emotions in front of the angel.

"Excellent question dear, well..." the beauty clapped her hands for the third time, and a pedestal appeared in front of the golden gate with an orb on it, "step ahead and touch the orb while concentrating deeply and you shall discover what your divination is..."

"So that means we're all going to be different?" David asked again, wanting to make sure he understood everything correctly.

"Yep, everyone places themselves in a straight line in front of the orb, so that we can all discover what divinations all of you will have!"

The atmosphere had quickly changed from panic to excitement, many students eager to discover what powers they would have, and Max was the most excited out of them all.

Unfortunately, though, he ended up dead last in the line, meaning he would have to wait for everybody else's glory time to end before getting his, even after death it seems that he was still considered an extra by his peers.

David was the first to step ahead, he was what most considered the epitome of human perfection: athletic, smart, good with the ladies, and strong, and it seems that this new world didn't abandon him either because...

"W-wow!" he mumbled as the orb turned gold upon his touch, "that's good right?"

"This isn't just good! This is miraculous!" the angel lady looked ecstatic, but before she could explain, screens appeared in front of them again.

[The orb will turn into five colors depending on the level of the divination you have acquired]

[SSS - Gold]

[S - White]

[A - Blue]

[B - Green]

[C - Red]

Max was astonished, the very first person that had touched the orb had already gotten an [SSS rank] divination, this was only but good news for him, it meant that he also could become someone big!

After that, the class members went one by one and touched the shiny orb, the colors were extremely different, some got blue, others green, some lucky ones white, and when it was the class goddess's turn, Lucie, the orb yet again turned golden.

"Two SSS divinations in the same batch? This is incredible!" the angel exclaimed, and the students couldn't help but envy those who had gotten a powerful divination, after all, it was all they would have in this new world.

Max continued looking at the orb as others passed, he was determined to get a good divination, and he knew he could do it.

And after a while, it was finally his turn.

"You're the last one" the blonde angel smiled and pointed at the orb.

"Thank you" he bowed before walking towards the pedestal, he was the last one to touch the orb, and he hoped it wouldn't disappoint him.

'Please, please, please...' he prayed as he put his hand on the orb.

As the last one passing, all the eyes fell on him, giving him the attention he never had in his previous life, and he could feel the air carrying a deep sense of anticipation.
