Meeting with Gon

After 3 days I finally arrived at whale island. The home of Gon Freecss, how do I intrudes myself to gon naturally. luckily he has no friends his age right now which means I will be his first friend.

After 1 hour of walking around the town and buying some fruits, I started walking towards a big tree, "hm where do I find him, if am not wrong he should be trying to catch the monster fish to get permission to take the hunter exam." After asking around I finally found the forest, I walked slowly trying to find the lake gon is fishing in. After walking for an hour I finally found it.

When suddenly a bear with fox ears jumped out of the bush and ran towards me, I was shocked for a second because the same bear was in the anime. They really didn't give justice to the bear's size he was 5 meters tall.

I jumped and dodged his claw when suddenly I heard a voice" Kon stop" then a green-haired boy walked towards me.

The bear ran towards him and started licking his face "hahaha stop Kon we have a guest"

Then he walked up to me and smiled" sorry about that"

I smiled back "no worries, hi am Alex" and extended my hand for a handshake

"Hi am gon" he replied while shaking my hand aggressively with big enthusiasm.

"So what are doing in whale island, if am guessing right you are not from here" gon said with a smile.

"yeah your right I am not from Whale island, I came here to take the passenger ship to the hunter exam."

"wow you wanna be a hunter me too," said gon with an excited face

"yes, it's my dream to go on adventures. and become the best hunter" I replied

"My father abandon me to become a hunter that why, I wanna be a hunter like my dad, and find out why it was the most important thing for him," said gon with a big smile "

"Nice are you gonna join the hunter exam next week," I asked gon. " yes but I have to catch the lake monster, or my auntie will not allow me to take the hunter exam"

"anyways it's gonna be late you shouldn't stay in the forest at night." said gon

"well I don't have any place to stay, "I said with a sad face, hoping he let me stay with him.

"you can stay with me I live with my aunty and grandma," said gon excitedly,

haha, he probably never had a friend his age, if I remember correctly killua was his first friend in the series, and gon was Killua first friend as well. they both didn't have a relationship with any kid their own ages, killua grow up in a fucked up Assasin family where he wasn't allowed to go out of the Zoldyc property therefore he couldn't make friends. And gon is probably the only 11-year-old kid on this tiny island.

That's why they become so attached to each other in the anime. he is probably eager to find a friend his age.

I grabbed his hand " really gon thank you from now on your my friend"

"Friend" gon looked at me with a big joyful smile and said "I never had a friend in my age"

"me neither gon you are my first friend," I said

"hm ok Alex from now on we are friends lets go to my house," gon said excitedly

I and gon walked toward his house. we walked through the door and heard a voice say" gon you back go wash your hand and get ready for dinner" said Mito

"Aunty we have a guest this is my friend Alex he is new to the island, can he stay with us for a couple of days," said gon pleadingly

"Hi miss Mito, am Alex nice to meet you," I said with a polite smile

"oh hi there welcome you can stay as long as you want," said Mito with a comforting smile, probably happy that Gon found a friend his age.

"thank you miss" I replied

"don't call me to miss, feel free to call me aunty Mito," Mito said

For the next couple of days, I lived with gon and went with him to the lake. one-day gon was sitting in a large tree wearing his usual green cloth, waiting patiently for the lake monster. Then suddenly he felt a very big catch pulling his fishing rode.

hm, he's finally about to catch the lake monster should I help him he will be in debt to me and that will only make us better friends. "gon let me help you" I appeared beside him and said, I gripped a part of the fishing rod and pulled with all my strength. The fish monster was pulled out of the lake and flying towards us then I caught the fish kicked it in the ground killing it instantly.

"wow your so strong Alex," said gon to me with stars in his eyes

"well my grandpa says you have to be strong be a good hunter" I shrugged and said

"Now that you have caught the lake monster we can take the exam together and become hunters," I said with a smile

"yes I cant wait" he replied with excitement. Gon lifted the lake monster and ran towards the shipyard where he met with Mito and showed her the lake monster.

"aunty Mito I did I caught the lake monster," said gon excitedly

"what actually exists" she looked at the big fish with a shocked expression.

Mito looks hesitant because she didn't want gon to leave I walked towards her and said" Miss Mito being a hunter and exploring this big world is not a bad thing. gon is a very curious person making him very fit to become a hunter"

Mito looked like me with hesitation before she agreed on letting gon take the hunter exam. "it's too dangerous," she said

"don't worry about gon I will be taking the hunter exam too with him," I said

After a while, she agreed to let gon take the hunter exam.

We spend the night at Mito's house and woke early in the morning to head for the shipyard. Mito gave gon a very tight hug while crying I just stood to the side and watching them saying goodbye to each other. It kinda reminded me of my grandfather. sigh

Mito let go of gon went towards me and pulled me to a hug as well I was very surprised but her motherly hug and her scent felt very warm. she let go of me looked in the eyes and said "pls take care of each other"

I smiled at her and said, "of course I will he is my friend" she nodded and smiled. I and gon went to the ship that will get us to the exam in Dolle harbor.

"bye aunty Mito I will become a hunter, and come back safe and bye everyone" yelled gon while waving his hand furiously

I am very surprised that the whole village came to say goodbye to gon

after a couple of minutes, we finally set sail and the beginning of the hunter exam started.
