10 Chapter 10
Dark.
It was so dark that I stumbled a few times. Only god knows how I am managing to walk in this dark cave.
I have no idea how much time has passed, but I can say that it will take a lot of time for me to get out of here.
"So thirsty….." I muttered. My throat is dry, and I have no access to water. The water bottle I brought with me has already gone missing.
Even inside this cave, the temperature is very low. Though there were no icy winds, it doesn't make things comfortable at all. Plus I can feel this place severely lacks oxygen. Currently, I am having difficulties in breathing and my muscles are catching on cramps. But I didn't stop walking, I knew if I stop to take a rest I might never be able to get up.
Though I am facing so many issues, I am not going to give up. Because I have a faint feeling that this is the underground cave I am looking for.
I am not one of them who had taken on the hidden quest in the game. As it was something, which was practically forced upon me, I never had an active interest in it. But that damn gym instructor of mine, he used to rant about the various scenarios and hidden events of the game all day. He would forcibly stop me from leaving the gym every day and fill my ears with every information he knew about this game.
According to him, it was very hard to find the cave. Only those who played this game relentlessly can gain excess to it.
Suddenly I started recalling all the nonsense he used to say to me about his passionate love for otome games.
"Dude are you serious!? Can't you feel the beauty of this game?" "Look how generous I am. Nick, I am giving you the chance to consume the divine nectar of otome games. Don't decline it.".....
*hehe* I smiled and a chuckle escaped my mouth remembering the past. But, that smile was soon replaced by a sad expression. Memories I wanted to forget were showing themselves.
Moments later, I forcibly shook my head and dismissed those thoughts.
"Come on man! It's not time to dwell on past things!" Saying so, I slapped both of my cheeks and with a newfound determination continued forward.
Upon covering some more distance, I noticed at a slight distance, that the cave was beginning to light up.
Seeing this I started pacing down myself. Then after taking a cautious stance, I started walking again.
The lighting started to increase as I walked forward. The insides were becoming brighter and brighter. I could see the walls of the cave were embedded with certain kinds of illuminating stones. The stones were shining brightly in all kinds of colours, creating a beautiful scene that would soothe anybody's mind.
Seeing this, I don't know what happened to me, I couldn't control my excitement. Adrenaline was surging in my body as I began to run forward.
My surroundings grew more and more beautiful. I could feel I was reaching the end of the cave. I dragged my body forward, there was something in my consciousness telling me to move fast.
Soon thereafter, I reached the end of the cave. The already big cave opens to an even more massive space.
Upon reaching there, my eyes became wide. My body trembled slightly, creating goosebumps all over.
"Wow!!..." I exclaimed in awe.
The scene in front of me cannot be described by mere words. This is something you get to see only in fantasy movies.
In front of me was a beautiful lake, over which aurora lights were emitting. The night sky was clearly visible from here, unlike in the cave. The banks of the lake were full of glistening boulders and stones. There were hundreds and thousands of those. Colourful mosses and ferns growing over them.
The water of the lake was crystal clear, one could even see the bottom of it.
I just stood there trying to process my thoughts on this mesmerising place. After a few moments, I noticed the small island floating over the lake. Though it was not exactly small, its size might be around 100-200 metres. Yeah, I know, that is actually quite big. The island was filled with various types of glittering plants.
Seeing this, standing at a distance, a wide smile crept on my face.
