The car moved smoothly across the roads as it drove. The sun shone down upon the vehicle as it passed many traditional houses, slightly modernized ones and so on. The sky was nearly cloudless, white clouds dotting here and there across the sky.

Kiara couldn't help but stare up at the soft blue colour of the sky from the car's window. It looked so beautiful and mesmerizing. But then, her amber coloured eyes turned away, looking to the driver who drove the car.

"Are we almost there?" She spoke, her voice soft but firm.

"We will be arriving at the compound shortly Uchiha-san." The man said, his eyes looking at her through the mirror. Her amber eyes met his onyx ones for just a second before turning away to look back out of the car window once again.

Kiara Uchiha, second born child to Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha, and sister to Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha. Sixteen years old and in her second year in high school. Like any other Uchiha, she was smart, confident, and composed. However, she mostly kept things to herself.

The car had begun to slow down and had stopped in front of the gates of the Uchiha compound.

"Who is it?" A voice from a speaker asked.

"It is Matsuda Mitsuo with Uchiha Kiara." The driver said as he rolled down the window.

"You may enter." The voice spoke as the gates opened and let the man and Kiara into the Uchiha compound. Once inside, the two were met with many Japanese style houses. The driver, Matsuoda, drove up to one of the bigger ones and parked in front of it. Once the car stopped, the driver got out and opened the door for Kiara.

Kiara got out of the car, not even muttering a 'thank you' to the driver as she did so. The man, being used to this behaviour, went to get her bags from the trunk while Kiara walked up the wooden steps of her house and towards the front door. When she reached the top she pressed a finger to the doorbell.

She waited patiently for someone to answer the door. Not too long after she had pressed the doorbell, the door was answered by a boy. He stepped out onto the porch, his black hair resembling that of a duck's feathery tails, while his usual onyx eyes looked seemingly bored.

"It's been so long, hasn't it, Sasuke-kun?" Kiara smiled as she looked up at the male, him being a few inches taller than her.

"K-Kira?" The boy said in surprise, saying Kiara's childhood nickname.

Kiara wrapped her arms around Sasuke's neck and pulled him in her embrace. He returned it.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were still in Suna at that boarding school." Sasuke said as Kiara shrugged her shoulders. She then pulled away from their embrace and patted on his soft hair.

"I thought that I'd move back here and finally pursue my career as a kunoichi. Besides, I didn't really fancy the idea of being far away from you guys. Coincidentally, my decision had perfect timing. I got into Konoha Private Academy."

Sasuke gave her a smirk. "I'm not surprised. I guess I can finally say to you that I also have plans going there."

"Haha, it wasn't a surprise to me either, otōto-kun." She teased as he rolled his eyes. Before she could say anything else to him, another voice interrupted her.

"Sasuke, who's at the door?" A tall male from behind Sasuke asked as he came out from the other room. His raven hair pulled back into a low ponytail with onyx coloured eyes and creases under his eyes.

"Nii-San..." Kiara called. The elder male's eyes widened slightly in surprise at the sight of his younger sister. His reaction was similar to Sasuke's.

"Imōto-chan." He walked towards Kiara and pulled her into his arms. She happily returned it. "Welcome home." Itachi greeted as he pulled away slightly but still had his arms around her. "If I knew you'd be coming today I would have picked you up myself."

Itachi said as he moved a strand of her dark brown hair that looked blocked out of her face. Sasuke seemed to have heard this comment though and gave his elder brother an irritated look.

"You knew she was coming and didn't tell me?" Sasuke asked, his eye twitching in annoyance. Itachi looked at Sasuke, chuckling.

"I knew she would be coming sometime during the week. I just didn't expect it to be today." Itachi simply replied as Kiara smirked at the annoyed expression Sasuke made.

"Why, Sasuke? Did you missed me that much?" She teased as he sent her a look.

He turned and walked back into the house without another word. Itachi just shook his head at his brother, feeling unbothered to tell him off. "Ever since he hit teenhood, he's been acting like that."

Kiara giggled and waved it off, "One word: Puberty."

"Here are your bags Miss." Matsuoda suddenly said, appearing beside the two Uchihas as he placed Kiara's bags down.

This time, Kiara nodded her head 'thank you' to Matsuoda. After he had left, Kiara and Itachi both carried the bags and walked further inside the house. They set the bags down by the stairs and walked towards the kitchen where Kiara was greeted by her mother.

"You're home!" Mikoto exclaimed as she hastily wiped both of her hands with a towel and ran towards her daughter, engulfing her in a tight embrace. "I've missed you..."

Kiara hugged her mother back, smiling internally. She missed her family just as much as they did for her. She cherished them fully.

After a minute or two, both females pulled away and Mikoto placed her hand on Kiara's pale cheek. "My, you have grown so much while you were away. You look more beautiful!"

Kiara diverted her eyes and looked at her two brothers, feeling quite embarrassed. "W-where's otō-san?" Kiara questioned.

"Out on a mission," Sasuke answered and Kiara nodded understandingly.

"I see..."

"But don't worry, he'll be back soon." Mikoto reassured her before walking back to the sink to wash the other remaining plates. "Are you hungry, dear?"

Kiara simply shook her head. "No, kāa-san. I ate along the way, so I'm still stuffed." She then saw her brothers sit on the floor by the table and watched as Itachi took his cup of coffee and took a sip. Sasuke just pulled out a book and started reading from it.

"So, imōto-chan, how was boarding school?" Itachi asked, looking at her directly into her eyes. Kiara took in a deep breath and sighed a little.

"Average. They taught things that I already know and it was just plain boring. What's even worse was that people, mostly guys always came up to me and asked for my help. I mean, do I look like I'm their sensei? What's the point of even sending me there?" Kiara complained, but her tone was deadly calm.

Sasuke smirked at this and let out a chuckle, "Nee-san, I've never seen you complain this much."

"I'm not complaining, Sasuke-kun. I'm just telling your Nii-san what really happened at that school." Kiara eyed on her little brother and gave him a look. Sasuke shrugged at this, turning his attention back to the newspaper. But his smirk never left his lips.

"Look at the bright side, at least you'll get to pursue what you really want this time at Konoha Private Academy."

Taken by surprise to this new information, Mikoto walked towards her three children and sat next to them. "Kiara. You have been recommended to go there?"

Kiara simply nodded. "I've been accepted."

"Ah, impressive! Sasuke said he plans on going there too. At least both of you would be able to look after each other and that's good." Mikoto said as she stood up, smiling.

Sasuke groaned in slight nuisance. "Kāa-san, I'm not a five-year-old anymore. I've turned thirteen two months ago. I can take care of myself."

"Still, Sasuke, you need to be looked after. And Kiara, since you're the second eldest, do look after your brother for me, please?"

Kiara nodded to her mother and kept her word. She had no doubt that her brother will be just fine. Itachi, however, chuckled to himself as he placed a single hand to cover his mouth. He thought it was quite humorous, seeing that their mother still had to tell Kiara to look after young Sasuke.

Sasuke turned his attention to Itachi and shot him a frown. "Nii-san, don't laugh!"

"I can't help it, Sasuke. It's just hilarious seeing you still being treated like a baby. Of course, it only seemed like yesterday when you were this small." Itachi replied as he made up the size of Sasuke's tiny body with his hands. He smiled a small smile, and both Kiara and Mikoto giggled.

Sasuke's eyes twitched and he crossed his arms, pouting. "Tch. This is so lame..."

It was late and Kiara was in her old bedroom, in which she hadn't been in for quite a few months, having been off at boarding school in Suna. Kiara walked to the bed and laid down, her back hitting the soft bed. She was tired from the long day she had, especially from the three-day drive in which she had to stop at a hotel or two on the way back to Konoha. She turned to her side, looking out the window in which she had forgotten to close to curtains and now the moon's rays were shining in.

She sat back up, got off the bed and walked to the window. She looked outside and watched as the village lights flickered lightly. She had missed this view.

Kiara then looked up at the starry skies, her eyes reflecting the stars' calm glowing light. A small smile crept onto her face as she breathed in, feeling the cool breeze arrive from the other side of her window.

"It's good to be back home..." she whispered to herself.
