1 Black Lightning

Countless millennia ago, a meteorite crashed onto the Earth. Without causing much damage to the land, it stayed in the same spot for years, until a Neanderthal happened upon it. He walked up to it and grabbed it, he had a higher than average intelligence than any other Neanderthal. He knew something was up when he grabbed it and it started to burn his hands, out of reflex he dropped it. The fall to Earth must've damaged it, 'cause when it hit the ground, it shattered. A sole object rests in its' place, a small crystal. The Neanderthal was engrossed by the design of this crystal. Pitch black in color, with a small, almost ripple of white across it. His instincts urged him to grab onto it, so he did. What followed was the most excruciating pain he had ever felt. The crystal broke into two pieces and a spark of abysmal black lightning exploded out. It struck him between his eyes, knocking him to the ground. Then, the pain set it. It felt like lava was coursing through his veins. His heart sped up so much it threatened to pump out of his chest. His brain was being electrocuted by the lightning over and over again. His bones were shattered by the force of the lightning and then healed by it as well.

He found out very quickly that this crystal was something he should not have touched, it was literally tearing his body down, and healing it over and over. His bones were formed with zero imperfections, his skin as well. After seemed like an eternity his mind broke and he blacked out from exhaustion.

He eventually awoke and noticed that his eyesight was much better than before, so was his hearing, smell, and many other things. What shocked him the most though, was his brain felt different, he felt he could think clearer and faster. Also, he could exert more force than he used to. Even though he had just almost died, he had gained so he passed it off.

From then on, whenever he got into a fight with another Neanderthal, he killed them accidentally and then heal almost immediately from whatever harm he received. This revelation shocked him to his core, he had to know the limit so he experimented. Finally, he came to a conclusion. It didn't matter what happened to him, he would heal eventually. If his arm was to get torn off by a beast, it would regenerate after some time. He even had his head crushed by a stomp from a Mammoth and it also healed after a couple of minutes. He found that he had an immortal body. The only thing he could do was wait for death.

His expectations, however, were not met. He continued to live as he witnessed everything die. He just waited and waited. He had lost count on how many years have passed when he decided to travel the world and experience what he could. So, he did. He traveled as far as he could, seeing all types of animals and species. He saw the first remnants of Homo Sapiens. He saw the last remnants of Mammoths. He would later figure out that he was probably the first and only of his kind.

Time continued to pass, he had gained an interest in fighting creatures considered strong by natures' terms. So he hunted things, Mammoths, Saber-Tooth Tigers, Dire Wolves, and so on and so on. This helped his mind stabilize, or in more correct terms, help keep his mind off his problem of not dying.

Eventually, he started to see more and more villages forming around places where Homo Sapiens would gather and live. He lived in some and learned their languages and cultures. He also found this quite interesting. Finally, he found his biggest passion, martial arts. He witnessed men fighting, but they were fighting with techniques that he had yet to see. All he knew how to do was throw punches and kicks. However, over time, his battle sense became his expertise. His punches were accurate and lethal. Now though, he gained enlightenment. The only problem was, every time he would attempt to fight now, his mind would be overtaken with the thought of slaughter. He didn't know that when he was in this mindset, his eyes would turn from their normal shade of dark green to an abysmal black that threatened to suck the life force of anything that noticed them.

At last, he found a way to help ease his mind of the thought of killing, focusing his will into his head, and ridding himself of thoughts. This would help his mind but not stop the thought, his self-control throughout the years was heightened beyond belief. Even that though, would not prove one-hundred percent effective. Each time he fought, his mind would fall a little more in depravity. While traveling, he would challenge anyone that said they could fight. Nothing could kill him, so he could go all out in a fight without regard for his own life. This led to him becoming worshipped as a God in many places, for the people saw him as an immortal being. And so, he kept at this routine for years.
