The Truth
Vikram scoops her feverish body in his arms and immediately dashed towards the car. The signs scream she was attacked, but by who? Vikram remembered following Tara’s cab last night till the seaside apartment owned by Akira, which for a moment surprised him because no matter how many times he asked to give that place on rent she refused. Once he saw Tara entering the safety of her place, he drove away. Whatever happened must have happened afterward.
Laying her on the back seat, he drove straight home and called Nora to get the doctor. During the whole ride, he kept glancing back in distress. God knows from how long she was laying on the icy floor. If it hadn’t been that meeting, the door of the office must have opened tomorrow, leaving her in cold. His grip on the wheel tightened.
We must have lost her.
