Learning Some New Magic

[Bellona POV]

"Me want it!"

"Okay, fine. You can have it"

"Yay!"

After I persuaded father that I want the magic guide book, he finally gave in and allowed me keep it with me. We continued reading books in the library for hours until the sun was setting.

"Ah, it's getting late. Time for you to go to bed, my dear"

"Okay!"

Now that it was getting dark and it was usually my time to go to sleep, we went out of the library while I am hugging the magic guide book with me. We head towards my room while cuddling me on his arms.

"Remember, Bellona. Don't read the words within the book, do you understand?"

"Okay…"

Father gave me a warning when we arrived at my room. I reluctantly complied to reassure him but deep inside, I still going to do it anyway.

Although I am going to read it secretly, I will only limit myself to beginner class magic for now. Also, I might need a bucket or two for my training as well.

"Bellona, please put aside the book when you are going to sleep"

"No"

"Eh, why not?"

"You take book away"

Father then put me down to my bed and he tried pry the book from me, but don't want to let go. I can imagine him taking my book away from me when I am asleep.

"I am not going to take it"

"Promise?"

"Promise"

He then reassures me that he will not take my magic book away. So, I let go of the book and he put me to sleep.

[Philip POV]

My daughter, Bellona, is very special.

Her birth was a special case than the previous child I had with Hilda.

She was born as a Miko and her special ability to scorch and burn things when in contact with the palm of her hand.

Some of the noble people would say that she was cursed because of this, but I couldn't agree with them. I would never call my own daughter cursed just because her hands are capable of harmful things.

Rather, I could say this is a blessing in disguise because of how useful her ability to protect us from disputes in the future.

I know it is wrong to use my own daughter in my scheme to get back into power, but I am willing use this opportunity to win the succession of the Boreas Greyrat family.

Besides, my daughter is very smart in a very young age. She was almost able to speak full sentence when I interact with her and she is already had an interest for reading books.

Although, I don't know where she had the motivation to learn magic but I have let it slide for now and keep an eye on her in case she does something reckless because of her curiosity.

Should I hire a magic tutor for her? Probably I should not for now.

[Bellona POV]

"yawn~"

I daintily yawned as I gently opened my eyes. I can see the sunlight pouring from the window and into my room.

I slowly lift myself up from the bed and I stretched my stubby little arms.

After stretching, I look around of my room to find my magic guide book. I eventually found it on top of the table near the dresser.

"Okay, time to read that book" I mutter to myself, readying myself to read the magic guide book. Carefully getting down of the bed, I toddle towards the table and tried to reach for the book.

"Hggh! Hggh! Come on! Got it"

After acquiring the magic guide book from the table, I went to a comfortable spot on the floor and sit myself down.

"Okay, let's see what this book has in store for me"

I then put down the book and open the page to read its content. I thoroughly read the text within the pages.

However, something was odd with the information I read within the book and I can't understand the reason why.

It was said that the category of attack magic was divided into seven school, which includes the element of wind, earth, electric, nature, water, fire, and ice.

Thankfully, the four basic elements were still here, which was a relief but the other three elements were bizarre.

The electric and ice magic were supposedly just part of the water magic. The nature magic on the other hand, was a completely new type of attack magic that shouldn't exist in Mushoku Tensei.

I wonder what had changed with the magic spells of each of these attack magic and what new spells were added, especially the nature magic one.

Moving on to the healing magic category, there was some spells were added within here. Spells like healing magic and detoxification magic that have area of effect, meaning you can heal and/or detoxify multiple people within range. There divine spells that exorcises beings with negative energy. Lastly, there were barrier magics that surrounds the caster even if they are on the move.

This doesn't excite me much but thinking about it, the healing magic category is quite broken right now. Learning these magic spells doesn't help me that much when I am fighting solo. Besides, I am also planning to train with the swords, so the battle aura was a better choice for me.

The last category written on the book was the summoning magic. This category was divided into two, which includes magic beast summoning and spirit summoning. Magic beast summoning involves calling forth a creature with intelligence and capable of loyalty while spirit summoning involves creating an artificial intelligence that were put in a sentient body.

This category seems normal and the information was not changed as much as the other two category. The only difference I can spot between this and the original story was that magic beast summoning was not that hard to achieve when you have high status.

After reading the majority of the contents within the magic guide book, there was one thing I could say from all of this information I just read. This isn't certainly not a normal Mushoku Tensei timeline.

Someone or something must have changed the course of history within this timeline, that the magic and perhaps the events of this world were altered and redefined.

I cannot say that my existence was the reason for the change. It is seemed to be impossible since I haven't done anything productive yet.

Perhaps another reincarnated soul was responsible for this, but I am not too sure if that was the case. So, only time will tell can explain to me how all of these had happened.

Anyway, time to experiment some beginner rank magic now that I read the text of the book.

*creak*

Just as I was preparing myself to try casting magic, the door of my room opened. I turn my head towards the doorway to see who entered.

It was one of the beast maids of the mansion. I quickly closed the book as the maid approaches me.

"Young lady Bellona, it is time for breakfast"

The maid then informed me that it is breakfast. I nodded in compliance and she helped me in changing my pajamas into casual clothes. After that, the maid picks me up and carried me on her arms.

"Book, book"

Not wanting to leave the magic guide book in my room, I instructed the maid to pick up the book. The maid complied and picks up the book and gave it to me.

I received the book from her and then we exit my bedroom and headed towards the dining area.

Once we arrived at our destination, I saw my whole family eating at the dining table. They noticed me and the beast maid and they were happy to see me.

"Ah, good morning, granddaughter"

"Good morning, sweetie"

"Morning, Bellona. Come here and eat together with us"

I was greeted by whole family and father prompts me to eat together with them.

The maid carried me towards the infant chair and puts me down there.

'Alright, let's time to eat breakfast'
