chapter 11 changing perspectives my baby sisters are born my 10th birthday

Paul's POV

I screwed up spectacularly not only did I almost ruin my marriage I completely lost my son basil respect. whenever he looks at me it's like he's looking at an insect. he's always cold and distant now. I can barely get in yes or no out of him. he no longer takes anything I say seriously and is constantly condescending towards me. and I can't discipline him because he'd either ignore what I say or if I tried to get physical I'd be the one really hurting found that out the hard way when I actually managed to get him to spar with me like we used to I realize then that was a mistake. he didn't hold back and broke several of my bones. I couldn't even hit him once.

the way he interacts with Lilia has also changed. he still helps her around the house but he's a little colder to her than he used to be. basil has started taking on a lot more responsibility now. he's waking up earlier than usual and he was always an early riser. he helps prep for breakfast gets everybody's lunch made helping zenith and Lily with whatever they need. he doesn't have a lot of relaxed time he's always doing something I don't think he knows how to sit still. he's taking better care of the family then I am. im starting to feel absolutely useless. I only have myself to blame for this. I can only hope this will fade with time.

zenith's perspective

it makes me sad to see how Paul's and basils relationship changed for the worse I tried to help mend it but it didn't work. I told basil to go spar with Paul. basil try to refuse but after being ordered to he did and he did not hold back. he broke five of Paul's bones and then refused to heal him. he had to crawl inside the house so I could heal him. I tried talking to Basil saying that if I can forgive him that he should but all basil said in response was I'm glad you can. honestly I'm getting worried about basil. he's being extremely helpful but not spending too much time playing. he's either training himself or Rudy and sylphy. studying his magic circles book and always helping around the house running errands. he's also acting a little cold towards Lilia which I can't really blame him. it's taking me a little while to rebuild that relationship we used to have and to accept the way things are now. I just pray to Saint millis that basil gets over this quickly.

Lilia's perspective

Master Basil's attitude towards me changed a little. he's a little bit more colder to me than he used to be. but considering what I did that's understandable. I believe that instead of taking his anger out on me he's taking it all out on Master Paul. I owe Master Basil a lot. despite what I did he's showing great concern for his unborn sibling and my safety. and to return his kindness if my child grows up healthy I will train them to serve master Basil.

Basil's perspective

my life has gotten hectic with two new siblings on the way. I've been doing my best to help around the house and to run errands. continuing my medication and morning practice my afternoon practice with Rudy and sylphy. my magic circle research my toy in figure making and my magic scroll making. months have passed and we are getting closer to Mom's and Aunt lilia's due date their tummies are quite large and I can feel my little sibling moving in there. as it was getting towards evening mom goes into labor I run out of the door to fetch the midwife. I found her and carried her on my shoulder luckily I am quite tall for my age. so as we got inside we started preparation me and Rudy were helping with that. unfortunately this isn't going to be an easy birth as it ends up being a breach which the midwife doesn't know how to deal with. luckily we had Aunt Lilia. walk us through the process and of course father is there in the corner biting his nails being useless as I would expect of him. but with me and Rudy and Aunt Lilia the baby was delivered safely a healthy baby girl. mom and father name her norn. but the stress of Mom's birth causes Aunt Lilia to go into labor prematurely. luckily this was in the midwife expertise. as we started the whole process all over again and another baby girl was born Aunt Lilia decided on the name Aisha. and that's how my two baby sisters were born. sometime passes and things around the house change first of all sleep is now a luxury with two crying infants. I do my best to help out with them to check them for rashes to hold them and try to calm them down Rudy helps with this too. I enjoy playing with them and I love my sister's dearly. sylphy comes to our house now so I can teach your reading writing and math what she catches on pretty quick we also do sword practice at the house. we still do magic practice on the hill with the tree. my swordsmanship practice is doing okay with my training implements I'm at times 450%. it is getting closer to my birthday and I'm kind of excited for it. a couple more months pass and it's the day of my 10th birthday. as me Rudy and sylphy we're practicing outside I noticed a carriage coming into view. when it stops ghislaine and Eris step out. I run over to them asking what they're doing here. Eris stands in her usual pose arms crossed and legs spread apart and said"we are here to celebrate your 10th birthday" I smiled and said thank you. end of course my brother was busy looking at ghislaine chest. I then introduced Rudy and sylphy to Eris and ghislaine. Eris seem to get a little jealous over how close me sylphy were. I told Eris That I would like her to get along with sylphy. as we all talked played inspired a little bit it was time to go in for the festivities. I got to introduce Eris to my mom my father Aunt Lilia and my two baby sisters norn and Aisha. and just like with my previous birthday there is a huge amount of food. we ate we goofed around and then I saw sylphy and Eris getting along soon enough it was time for the gift giving Mom gave me a outdoor cookbook basically from the looks of it it teaches you how to cook outdoors without using a lot of seasonings or spices. survival cooking one might say. dad gave me some super Sharp throwing knives seven of them apparently they were sort of magic implements they wouldn't get dull or rust they could go through armor I thanked father for them. ghislaine gave me a dark leather jacket that has a white fur trim collar and a pair of white belts on each end of the sleeve. ghislaine said that this is the jacket you get for reaching sword saint. sorry it took a while for me to give it to you. sylphy gave me a necklace she said it was based on a treasure that her father had I gave her a hug and thanked her and said I wouldn't take it off unless I absolutely need it to. then it was lilia's turn she gave me a backpack that had a wolf design on it. then eris's turn she failed to snap her fingers ghislaine left the room for a moment to go get it. when I saw it my jaw dropped what I seen was probably the most beautiful sword in existence. really eloquently crafted the blade had a deep cold blue color a well-crafted handle with a wolf pommel at the end and it radiated a chill. apparently it was forged from unknown materials it was found in a dungeon nobody knew that it existed. had a blue magic crystals in the handle. the sheath had Gold mixed in the edges. it was really well made too I think there's so much for the gift as I held it and was admiring it. I went outside to give it a few test swings it seemed that it was able to use water and ice attacks it cut extremely well too I had Rudy conjure up some boulders and I was shocked that I barely putting any effort I was able to carve the boulder.I was amazed at the sword. but all good things must come to an end an Eris and ghislaine had to start heading home after I said goodbye to them I took sylphy home and when I got back I went to bed.
