1 Chapter 1: Reborn With a Museum System

The sun is shining and the sky is clear in the Fire Song Empire, an empire within the vast Sky Light continent. The Fire Song Empire's capital, White Flame city was a vast city spanning many many miles. Within the prosperous section of White Flame city lay streets filled with cultivators, while along these streets lay many different shops selling everything from pills to weapons. Yet as one wandered towards the more desolate streets of the prosperous area in the northern side of the city, one would find a small building.

Inside of this building, a young girl named Tang Yu sat on the bed in despair, looking at the few coins she held in her hand.

"I only have a couple of gold coins left. If I don't find a way to make money, I'll end up starving on the street" she thought.

One week ago, Tang Yu had been a history student attending university. She chose to become a history student due to her love of collecting antiques as well as simply her fascination with learning the subject. One night, she had gone to sleep like she would any other day. However, when she woke up, she found herself in this brand new world of cultivation.

As she sad on her bed thinking about how she would be able to make ends meet, she suddenly heard a ding followed by a mechanical voice.

[The Museum of Dao system has been activated. The first quest will now be issued to the host.]

Tang Yu stared into space as this message resonated in her head.

"Am I hallucinating? Or did this thing called a system just talk to me?"

Before she could respond, she heard another message ring out in the same mechanical voice.

[It is advised that the host open the museum as soon as possible so that you do not run out of money for food.]

Tang Yu heard this second message and realized that the voice in her head was real. Realizing that she already had a building that she was living in, she wondered if she would be able to convert the first floor into a museum area.

"System, am I able to use the first floor of the current building as the museum?"

[Scanning the first floor of the current building...]

[Scanning complete. The first floor has been deemed useable for the museum. The system will now start renovation on the area in one minute. Please use this time to remove any living beings from the area. The renovation will take one hour.]

"Well that was simple," thought Tang Yu. "I should take this time to wash up. I have nothing to do right now anyways."

With this thought, Tang Yu headed over to the bathroom to wash up. As she entered the bathroom she looked into the mirror and saw the same beautiful face that she had seen for the past week. A small face with dark blue eyes. At the moment, they looked slightly cold, masking the excitement that Tang Yu felt inside. Her face was framed by waist-length, ink black hair which cascaded down her shoulders.

After she finished washing up, Tang Yu heard a familiar ding in her head.

[Ding! The renovation of the museum area has been complete. Please claim your reward for completing the mission.]

"System, how do I claim the reward?" Tang Yu questioned.

[Simply think about claiming the reward and further instructions will be provided depending on the reward.]

Following the instructions, Tang Yu furrowed her brows, willing her imagination to claim the reward.

[Would you like to open the Beginner Museum Permanent Exhibit Pack now?]

"Yes."

Following this, Tang Yu heard a large congratulatory noise.

[Congratulations on the host for drawing the permanent exhibit "Blades of Destiny: The Art of Legendary Sword Strikes". Would you like the place the exhibit in the museum?]

"Yes. Please place it in now."

[Understood... Placement has now been complete. Host may now open the museum whenever they wish to.]

With this message, Tang Yu jumped off of her bed and immediately ran downstairs, full of curiosity and excitement. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, she took a deep breath before swinging the door open and stepped out into the room.

The most of the floor had been opened up, with a wall dividing the reception area and the exhibition area. The front door of the building was right in front of the reception desk that she was currently standing behind. The desk was made of an unknown wood, as were the floor and the walls, giving the interior of the building a rustic charm. To her right, she saw the doorway leading to the exhibition area.

The exhibition area was currently a long hallway. Currently, the hallway featured one opening on the left. To the right of the doorway, the title of the exhibit, "Blades of Destiny: The Art of Legendary Sword Strikes." could be seen in large letters. Below the title, a description could be seen printed in smaller letters. The description wrote: "This exhibit offers a captivating exploration of the intersection between art and swordplay. Through these remarkable pictures, visitors gain a profound appreciation for the mastery, symbolism, and awe-inspiring techniques concealed within the legendary sword masters of a bygone era ranging from the earthly emperor realm to the world conqueror realm. This is an exhibit that immerses the visitor in a world where blades become more than weapons. Each piece embodies the purpose and the determination of those who brandished them, helping visitors to further their comprehension of the sword no matter their cultivation level. It is said that each of these paintings hides the sword technique which inspired the painting, but only those fated will be able to learn them."

Tang Yu walked into the exhibit. The exhibit featured 3 rooms in total. The first two rooms each featured 4 pieces while the last room held 2 pieces.

Walking into the first room, Tang Yu saw two paintings on each side of the room with the doorway to the second room straight ahead. She then went to inspect the paintings on the walls of the room. The first painting she approached was named "Veiled Serenity". Upon looking at it, she saw a picturesque scene of a tranquil river flowing gently through a lush valley. Cherry blossom trees stood tall, their delicate pink petals gracefully drifting in the breeze, while the play of light and shadow cast a calming atmosphere upon the entire scene.

Next to the painting, there was a description that read: Description: "Veiled Serenity" is a painting that captures the essence of Li Sheng's profound connection with nature. As a cultivator in the earthly emperor realm, he was known as Earthly Emperor Cloud Serpent. Through years of meditation and cultivation, Li Sheng became attuned to the whispers of the wind and the gentle rustling of leaves. This painting of his reflects his deep understanding of harmony and balance, showcasing the delicate interplay between calligraphy and swordplay. The strokes of his brush mirror the graceful movements of his sword, resulting in a masterpiece that embodies serenity and a harmonious fusion of art forms.

"Earthly emperor?" Tang Yu muttered in astonishment. As far as she knew, each rank of cultivation had four ranks: entry, intermediate, upper, and peak. From her understanding, the ranks of cultivation were as follows: Qi Disciple, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation, Nascent Soul, Spirit Integration, Earthly Emperor, Heavenly Ascendant, World Conqueror, Divine Sage, and Void Recluse. Any other realms above the divine sage realm was unknown to her. While she didn't know exactly how powerful each of these realms were, she had heard that the emperor of the Fire Light Empire who ruled the vast land was an peak earthly emperor realm cultivator while the major sects in the Fire Light Empire only possessed upper earthly emperor realm cultivators. It was said that only empires more powerful than the Fire Song Empire had cultivators of the heavenly ascendant, world conqueror, and divine sage realms.

Following this, Tang Yu visited each of the paintings one by one. The four paintings in the first room were the aforementioned Veiled Serenity, alongside Fleeting Shadows, Frozen Echo, and Blazing Inferno. Each of these paintings hid techniques created by an earthly emperor realm cultivator and were suitable for nascent soul and above cultivators. The second room featured the paintings Whirlwind Symphony, Thunder's Resonance, Gilded Illusion, and Ethereal Cascade. The paintings in the second room hid techniques created by a heavenly ascendant realm cultivator and were suitable for spirit integration and above cultivators. The final room contained the two signature pieces of the exhibit, Lunar Elegance and Celestial Radiance. These two pieces granted the opportunity for cultivators that had reached the earthly emperor realm to learn techniques created by mighty world conqueror realm cultivators.

Walking back out to the reception area, she saw a board behind the reception desk. When she saw what was written on it, her eyes went wide.

Tang Yu shook her head with a wry smile. "Seems like it will be quite difficult to gain the first couple of customers. Anyways system, am I able to open the museum now?"
