10 The Revival Arts

Someone was playing a bad joke on the seer, or maybe it was because he was in a simulation of sorts? Or maybe he was comatose. What else made sense? As reality slowly started to escape the Neon's grasp, two women entered the room, giggling and laughing. It was the eldest daughter, and with her, the seer's employer.

"Am done with this shit," the seer said to himself.

"Oh, you guys are here finally," she sighed. Her sentence was like "Oh, how long have I awaited," but her tone was like "Should have taken your time."

The internally boiling rage that the seer felt had to be controlled and the deed was done by none other than the eldest daughter of the Spider family.

"My name is Li Na," she introduced herself as she bowed to him in her elegant grace. The seer saw on her face the smile that he had seen but only twice before in his 2 years in Murim.

One of those faces was an already dead face, and the second one would soon follow. It was about time the truth got out. Liu would either kill himself or the Spider family would kill him for killing their kin.

"Call me Neon," the seer put his hands forward. And the lady of the family responded in kind.

"Get the hell away from my sister!" a man rushed in, breaking the walls and doors. It was the assumed dead, the older brother of Li Na.

He swooped in like a bullet in a straight trajectory. He missiled his way here with his legs as the head, which he twisted and turned to change direction. Through the wall came this humanoid missile which collided with the seer.

The man's legs made contact with the seer's abdomen. It was too quick for him to react to. He did not even have time to change the expressions on his face that looked happy and polite to the one of pain. Blood flew out of the seer's mouth. It all happened so fast, yet it was as if all was occurring in slow motion.

The hand that was holding another had to be released. The missile would have its way. Who was that foolish mortal that attracted it to him anyway?

*Dham*

And the seer was nailed onto the wall. Blood flowed out of the smile that stretched through his face still. The nail removed itself, and so the object fell onto the ground, barely alive thanks to his newly looted attire.

"You are alive?" Cao Tang jumped from his chair. And a second later, he realized he should not have said that.

"Yes, I live, you mongrel. I can sacrifice my cultivation for a new life as I practice the immortal dragon dance technique," the arisen dead replied nonetheless.

"What is happening?" the macho man asked.

"These guys killed me and Muchen," the naked man whose clothes were robbed of him replied yet again. "They even stripped and looted the both of us," he continued to pile on rightful accusations.

The seer is a genius. A master of deception. A technique he sold his soul to learn from the most rotten of the bunch. All in order to survive Murim.Tricking and lying out of this situation was no big deal for him.

"You fool, think I did not see you coming. I could have easily dodged that. But I deserved it and therefore took the hit. You, cavemen, know not of the outside world. Fufu~" The seer had started his bullshitting, and not even the Jade Emperor held the prowess to stop him. His targets were but mere stupid spiders.

"Behold, my presence, for I am the one. I am the one who is called the Seer, the one who can see the future. I knew of your revival mechanics beforehand," the Seer continued to utterly bullshit them. And he could go on until he proved his innocence by pure wordplay. But he needed not, for they were huge Seer fans.

"Yes, yes, you indeed are the Seer. The young man who dresses in all black, the one with the power to annihilate stars and predict their movement, the dashing good looks, the sword, the temperament, the demeanor. IT IS THE ALMIGHTY SEER," the matriarch of the spider family tripped and fell and approached him with excitement and asked for his autograph.

"Wait a minute, why kill my brothers, though?" Li Na questioned.

"Shut up Li Na, he is the motherfucking Seer, for fuck's sake. Surely he had his reasons," the fanboy yelled and completely shut her concerned sister up.

"What if he is a phony or something? He killed the two of you, for fuck's sake. Don't just eat up anyone's bullshit," Li Na argued back.

"Phony? This guy? Phony? He matches all descriptions. He is strong enough to kill all of us. Why would he bother?" he argued back. And then he immediately pounced back onto the Seer. "That attack you killed me with, it was so awesome, I did not even understand what happened."

The ego boost to the already narcissistic and egotistical Seer was immense. Liu had now stopped crying and was guilt-free and happy. However, he was too concerned about the Seer to celebrate his reunion with his new love.

"This is not going in the right direction," their employer commented.

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I indeed did have a reason. I predict with my Seer power that soon a mighty sage will traverse these lands, and I knew that you would need to sacrifice some part of your cultivation to revive. And therefore, to escape that sage's radar, I precisely killed you two in a way that you would only lose the amount of cultivation you must to fly under his radar and prevent the annihilation of my good and loyal long fans. Hahahahahahahahahahah," the Seer explained.

"Ah, indeed the wise one. I am so sorry you had to expose your identity and good intentions. I am blind, I need to be punished," the fanboy kowtowed to the mighty Seer.

"No need. Your family is one of my people. You guys are my beloved and precious, and do not take that lightly as you are the first people in this entire world of Murim I say these to," the Seer continued to bask in his glory.

"Yes, wise one. I have been blessed to be in your presence. I am glad I listened to my parents and didn't kill all the intruders that invade this forest instantly. For if not, I would not have today recognized your greatness," the fanboy yapped praises and the Seer swam in the vast sea of his praises.

"This is so wrong," Tang said, and the couple nodded in agreement.

"They really should not be stroking his ego like that."Liu agreed.

"Hahaha, it is an honor to meet you then," the man of the house put his hands forward.

"No, the honor is mine. You are the idol I never had. I wish to be like you someday," the man replied. "From now on, call me Brother Gu."

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Both of them laughed together, and soon enough, the fanboy also joined in. Seeing this, even the little girl started imitating the three, but that added further to the joy they were all experiencing, and they laughed even louder than before.

Laughter is contagious. Liu could no longer hold himself and laughed at his fate and the fun joke life played on him.

One after the other, they all laughed, and amidst that atmosphere, something changed within Cao Tang, the generic protagonist who would no longer continue to be a cringe generic protagonist.

A very small smile came upon his face as he watched this scene, and before he knew it, he was laughing as heartily as he had never laughed before.

Once again, "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA," and all lost themselves to celebration and party for the rest of the day.
