7 The Elder Brother

"I see you intruders have released our little prisoner," a voice echoed in the darkness within which they camped. "And what's this smell? You killed my brother. You are more interesting than I thought," the voice continued.

Slowly, the dark place started to light up as those weird blue stones started to sprout out of the walls. It still was dimmer than before, but there was no complete denial of information to the trio's eyes like before. Atop one of the larger stones stood a man--not a man, but a beast. A beast in human form. Only a very strong beast with a certain amount of cultivation or higher can take up a human form.

"Your ego seems to have recovered already. Want another beating?" Cao Tang taunted the beast. And it worked.

"Courting death. I am not as weak as I was," as he slid down the rock. His rage led to the growth of even more of those weird rocks in the cave, and now the rocks were bright and white.

"Heh, I am still three stages above you, shitty insect," Cao Tang continued to pull aggro while he signaled the other two to flank the guy. He knew he could not beat this thing alone. A stronger cultivation stage does not necessarily mean a win. At least not when against a beast with a unique physique.

As the last of the spike of white stone sprouted, the room was well-lit. And the enemy they faced was, at least in looks, absolutely divine, glorious, and absolute. The seer loved his style and the clothes he wore, which seemed less like clothes and more like battle armor he made with his own exoskeleton. Very similar to what the seer had done.

He rocketed up to the ceiling and then jet downwards towards Tang, who easily predicted his trajectory and blocked him. "What recovered all your strength already? Your identity is not so simple after all," The spider who had now transfigured itself into a human continued to trash-talk as the colliding blades gave off sparks and sparks.

This was followed by a furious barrage of sword techniques from both sides. Neither would relent. Every move they made ended in a clash of swords. This went on for a while, and their speed would increase and increase as time passed by. Much longer into the barrage, Liu had finally found his opening, and he rushed to take it. The fight soon turned into a 2v1 as Liu's attack failed due to his armor. Once again, none relented, and their swordsmanship was barely pushing the enemy back.

"Heaven's Descent!" "Flying Cloud Steps!" "Earthen Stride!" "Immortal Sword!" "Lightning Sword Steps!" "Heaven Spider's Wrath!" "Must these guys shout their attack names every time?" the seer talked to himself as he put a piece of meat in his mouth. "But then can't let them die or I die."

"Mmmmmmmh, delicious," the seer said as loudly as possible. "I haven't eaten tastier meat in all my life. Your brother sure is tasty," the seer commented with the nastiest expression in his arsenal as he put yet another block and chewed on it.

"Bet you sisters are just as tasty. I can see myself having a lot of fun before eating them, seeing as good-looking as you are." The taunt was extremely successful. All the aggro was now on the seer.

These guys are mythical beasts. Mythical beasts are rare. Therefore, these guys are inbred. And the seer knew that. Talking shit about a sister is equal to talking shit about a wife, and in Murim, those husband-wife relationships are the only ones that matter or the only ones that have a chance of there being some emotional connection.

"You lowly mortal, kowtow before me 300 times, and only then might I spare you." As he said that, there was a surge of ki that blew off both of his attackers. Neon continued to sit there, completely unaffected. He pulled out another piece and licked it and kept on licking it. It was like teasing a younger sibling.

"Courting death. Say your last wishes!" The maddened arachnid man rushed towards him. The handsome man with pale white skin and a white coat/armor thing did not look so cool anymore. He was enraged. He was now using his sword intent on but a mere mortal.

*Thumb*

Two men rushed in from the right and kicked the arachnid man on his left as he flew toward Neon. The impact was so strong it left a shockwave, propelling all four away.

The seer's dress was ruined, and he was furious. As he pushed off the rubble he was trapped under, he drew his sword. However, when he got to the point where the arachnid man was, there was merely a pool of blood there and no corpse. Although the seer more or less expected that.

"Seems he ran away," Liu said, holding up his side.

"We will find him again as we keep going forward," Cao Tang said, clinging to Liu.

It took two days for the two cultivators to recover. And it took exactly two days for the seer to fix his clothes. His black attire now had patches of white on it. He fixed his attire with the skin and exoskeleton of the spider they had previously killed. Sadly enough, though, it was also time enough for the arachnid man to recover.

"Alright, guys, any plans?" Liu asked.

"How about we go get his sister," Cao Tang replied.

"That is not a valid battle tactic, Brother Tang," Liu responded.

"It is, though," the seer added. "See, he agrees," Tang validated his opinion.

"How is that a battle tactic?" Liu asked, rather worriedly and painfully, knowing he would be proven wrong with the most valid and absurd of logic.

"Well, we find his sister, and we threaten him to let us go," said the seer. Cao Tang nodded in agreement and pointed his finger at the seer as he did so.

"That does sound like it will work, but what if we run into him before anyone else?" Liu put forward a logical argument, but both of them knew it was his moral scruples that were preventing him from going with Plan A.

"Don't worry if that happens; I have a backup plan," the seer said with absolute confidence.

"Mind telling.."

"Nope. If there is a chance you don't know, then I would rather not tell," the seer interrupted Liu, accurately predicting what he would say.

"Well, wondrous hell, it's the worst-case scenario. We ran into this guy first," Tang commented.

"So what's the backup plan?" asked Liu as he pulled his sword.

"Restrain him, and I will use the ultimate weapon to finish him off," the seer replied.
