Una raza alienígena enfrenta una extinción masiva en su planeta, entonces deciden conquistar otro, el cual resulta ser la Tierra. La novela se enfoca en los personajes Aqua, la alienígena, y Nate, el humano con la misión de analizar la Tierra y buscar si posee los requisitos para terraformarla y restaurarla.
