I'm a lava man

My first magic lesson with my great-nephew Loki: I will never get over saying that, was uneventful, to say the least. I must say, I'm surprised; from the stories mother told me, and from what I remember from DXD, Loki was supposed to be arrogant and prideful. That lead me to believe a few things; he needs me for something; he fears disrespecting me because my mother or I am in an au and he has a different personality, or he's at least smart enough to not let his arrogance cloud his judgment.

I digress. The only thing we did today was go over the different types of magic, their differences, personal formulas, and the difference between magic and demonic power.

It was the same as in canon. Demonic power is fueled by the user's imagination. As long as you have enough demonic energy, you can do almost anything. As luck would have it, demonic power relies on the amount of energy the user has: even with that, in theory, it's a broken ability.

Magic, in simple terms, was, if you know how something is done and its result, you can replicate it. When I heard that, I wondered why magicians didn't just drop nukes or hydrogen bombs on people: on my to-do list.

Loki also told me that when magicians are good enough, they create their own unique magical formula that helps them use magic more efficiently. He showed me his magic formula/circle, and I won't lie, it's kinda cool.

At the end of the lesson, he told me I had until the next lesson, aka next week, to come up with my own magic formula and from my magic circle.

Which brings me to today. After a good night's sleep, I feel confident that I will be able to create my formula.

The base of my formula came to be this morning in my shower. It was quite simple. What if I could combine the principle of magic and demonic power together?

I somewhat remember that in the novel that there have been cases where magicians could perform magic to formulas that haven't been solved, just by using intuition.

So, if I could combine those two, I could use my imagination to complete formulas that haven't been solved.

In all likelihood, some magician had already tried, but I had something they didn't, Schrödinger's powers.

Schrödinger's powers work on the principle of belief; if I wanted something to exist, it would. If I didn't, it wouldn't. Hell, I could have a sun dropped on me, and as long as I believed I would be ok, I would.

Thanks to my wish, I could extend that belief onto others and things. I don't know when I would reach the level, but I could snap my finger and make everything cease to exist, but baby steps first.

*hours later*

Ok, I give up.

I have tried to fuse these three concepts all day, and nothing. It seems that my powers of belief can affect non-physical objects like mana and demonic energy, but the control I have over my power isn't enough.

Without demonic energy, fusing the two concepts would be impossible. Good thing I had a backup plan.

Since I already had a connection with the earth, why not abuse it.

For his plan to have a chance of working, Adalsteinn had to strengthen his body.

{Body of the magmatic forge} was his go-to method, since for now, he had no one to teach him touki.

{Body of the magmatic forge} had five stages to it; herb bath, mud bath, boiling hot spring, lava reconstruction, and magma core

He was currently 3/4 of the way through the first stage; he only needed one more bath to complete it.

Nótt was happy to get him the things he needed, especially since he needed some special herbs: Niflheim, being the land of the cold and dead, was mostly filled with cold, dark, and death energies.

Since the baths were used to balance the body's elements, Adalsteinn needed herbs with high levels of fire and light energy: as the son of the literal personification of the night, excess dark energies had no effect on the contrary; it only strengthened him.

Nótt was able to get all the things he needed in less than an hour.

Adalsteinn thanked his mother with a kiss on the cheek, then went to take his bath, which took the rest of the day.

Four days late, Adalsteinn could be found, sitting in a remote hot spring, in the mountains of Huangshan, alongside his mother.

He had just finished the final bit of the third stage a few hours earlier and decided to relax from the days of non-stop practicing. And nothing beats the comfort his mom gave him.

Once they got back to Eljudnir, Nótt excused herself to her room to have some "personal time" with the sight of her naked boy fresh in her mind.

Adalsteinn made his way to Loki's room. He, unfortunately, needed his help.

*knock* *Knock* *Knock*

"It is open. Please, come in."

"Good afternoon Loki. I need a favor. Can you take me to a place that has lava? I need it for my magic formula."

"I know just the place."

With a snap of his finger, a giant magic circle appeared behind Adalsteinn.

"Please, after you."

After Loki said that, the circle opened like a door leading into an empty black space.

As soon as Adalsteinn stepped into the black space, he suddenly found himself in a world of heat and fire.

The sky was glowing red with black clouds. There were volcanoes and mountains of molten rock all along the horizon, but most importantly, a few hundred meters behind him was a water lava fall leading to a river of lava.

"Muspelheim, the realm of fire. I think it suits your needs nicely, does it not?"

"It's perfect. Time to get to work."

The fourth stage and fifth stages of {Body of the magmatic forge} were linked and could be done at once.

The second stage mud bath; made his skin and bones solidified, condensed earth energy. The third stage, boiling hot spring, balanced his body's energies once again, along with removing impurities.

For the fourth stage, Adalsteinn had to bathe in lava and use the stored pure elemental energy from the first stage to fuse the lava to his solidified condensed earth energy bones.

The fifth stage could either be done by, absorb lots of pure energy from lava and condensing it into his heart and using the pure energy left from the first stage to crystallize it.

A downside to the last two stages, it was painful, so painful that if your will was not strong enough, you would die.

Thankfully, during the four days of nonstop training, Adalsteinn also practiced {Eight phases of the moon} manual, finally managing to clear all corruption and fill his first new moon to waxing crescent. He now had enough control of his powers to not feel pain, among other things.

Adalsteinn used his power to believe he felt no pain, and without a second thought, jumped into the lake, slowly falling to the bottom.

Once he reached the bottom, he sat in a crossed-legged position.

Although it didn't hurt, Adalsteinn could feel his skin and flesh begin to slowly petrify, starting from his fingers. After about 30 minutes, his entire body, but his heart, was nothing but a black statue.

Adalsteinn, still conscious, began to the pure energy from the lava and condense it into his heart. Slowly it began to fill until eventually there was nothing left. Once it reached that point, he used the remaining elemental energy and instantly crystallized it.

He could feel his new core slowly start to pulse magma through his body.

The black stone began to crack, showing a glowing red and yellow substance. Eventually, all the stone cracked away, revealing a humanoid figure very distinct from the rest of the lava.

Loki was surprised when he saw Adalsteinn jump into the river of lava, but in the little time he has known the boy, he has come to learn how smart he is, so his surprise was brief.

What truly surprised him was that the river was slowly draining, and only stopped when 1/3 had left.

It was coming close to the two-hour mark when suddenly, something came flying out the river landing a few feet in front of him, splashing lava all over the place.

In front of Loki was a humanoid figure about his height. Its body was seemingly made of swirling lava that was cooling and melting at the same time.

Eventually, the figure began to shrink until it reached Adalsteinn's original height, and the lave almost fully cooled, leaving a humanoid figure that looked like slate, with exposed veins of flowing magma.

Adalsteinn felt amazing in his new boy and could fully control it. After he withdrew his slate form, he returned to his original appearance.

"Thanks Loki, we can go home now."

Loki wanted to ask what he did, but decided to save it for later. To him, little Adalsteinn seemed to be in a rush and was too focused on his goal to talk.

Arriving home, Adalsteinn went straight to his room and began to meditate.

"It's nice to see you again, Xiaowen, or should I call you Adalsteinn."

"Adalsteinn. Better yet, call me Add. I've always preferred nicknames."

"Hehehehe. Ok, Add. Well, what brings you here. Surely you didn't come all this way to meet little ol' me."

"Pfft, hahaha... Sorry, but no. I wanted to ask you something. Now that my body is reforged and we have our spiritual connection, you gonna make me your herald or not. Also, I was wondering if I could tap into the Ley lines since we're ever so close."

"Yep, I was actually going to come to you tonight to make you my herald. One benefit of being my herald is access to any and all Ley lines whenever you want. So be grateful this beautiful Onee-san is granting you access to her sacred spring of life."

"This lowly God, thanks to the beautiful and generous Earth for such a magnificent gift. I'm honoured."

...

Earth/Add: "Hehehehehehehe."/ "Hahahahahahaha."

The two of them were laughing for a good while. Add was the first to calm down.

Wiping a tear from his eye, Add waited for Earth to get out of her/his/It's laughing fit.

"All jokes aside, thanks. I have to say, calling you Earth is starting to feel weird. Draconic Deus ain't any better. Unfortunately for you, I suck with names, so, from now on, I am gonna call you D.D., which reminds me, I have to put C.C. on my potential peerage/servant/harem list.

"D.D., huh? Well, I like it. Sadly, it's time for you to go. Your mother is calling you. I hope you come back soon, or I might start speaking to you in your head."

"Oh? I might just wait for you then. Bye."

Add woke up to see his mother cleave right in his face.

"Finally, I called you a few times, but I guess you were in deep meditation. Anyway, dinner is ready. Let's go."
