Chapter 37: Worthy Foe

Luffy and Thor have been both attacking with each attack with all of their might.
Luffy using his [Second Gear] and Thor using his hammer to counter Luffy's attack both kept on going on the assaults not letting them give an inch.
However, the Gods in the crowd were surprised to see Thor struggles to even damage Luffy at all as if his ignoring the hits.
Zeus comments this going on as he observes Luffy with an odd look, "How in the hell did this human managed to hit Thor with that much force but when he hits him it's not effective something is going here?"
Hermes the person next to him observed as Luffy stretched his arms too fast to even be seen by some Gods and mortals hearing that each punch generated from his attack breaks the sound barrier with unknown energy surrounding his power.
Hermes observing the human as he sees Thor is going all out he makes his own conclusion what is going with a clear frown on his face, "Hmm… it appears to me that the Valkyries have given the humans the ability of Volund to harm the gods but even I'm uncertain that this power were witnessing is from a Valkyrie?"
Ares next to his other fellow Gods as he observes Thor struggling to look at Luffy with an annoyed expression, "From the looks of their power they managed to match their strength in the beginning but now its Thor having a hard time to fight back, and the human stretches as if his made of something else entirely?"
Zeus takes notice of this as he glances the Brunhild, Geir, and Alex as he suspects something afoul is a foot here.
Zeus was certain that no human was this strong ever before in human history but now seeing a human in question with this much strength around wondered where he originated in the first place.
Glancing over to Alex's side he said nothing as he observes the battle going on.
Thor on the other hand was having a major issue as he kept on attack Luffy with all of his might only to see him jump right back off as if it was nothing, but it did make him happy.
Thor is a battle manic and wants to fight.
Thor seeing that Luffy is coming after him standing still getting into punching position as Luffy said to him while smiling at Thor for the first time, "Shishishi! I have to admit hammer guy your strong but I'm still going to kick your ass! [Gomu Gomu no Jet Gatling]!"
As Luffy stands still, bends forward and moves his arms upwards at speeds which they can no longer be seen, leaving only jet streams in their place, very much like how the Jet Pistol looks like when launched!
Thor widens his eyes at this as he tries to defend himself with his armor gloves but…
*CRACK*

His armored gloves were cracked from Luffy [Gomu Gomu no Jet Gatling] as Luffy used the Volund is actually his rubber body to return again along with his Haki that manages to break through Thor defense and managed to deal in massive hits to his body!
*Skid*
Thor was skidding across the arena to the wall from the forces of Luffy's attack as he actually felt pain in his body as he comments on Luffy as he swung his hammer into his battle position while fighting off the pain, "Bastard. That strength is wasted on a human like you."
Luffy foreseeing the next attack using his future vision of his [Observation Haki] predicted the next course of action.
Thor's signature moves and instant kill technique the [Thor's Hammer] is when Thor summons divine electricity and lightning and imbues Mjolnir with it, Thor then arches his back downwards frozen until he unleashes a powerful blow this was used against the Jötunn back in the Ancient Era.
*Swoosh*
Thor threw his hammer at Luffy as he bites down his thumb and then his body started to inflate as Luffy says to him with a kind laugh, "Shishishi…! Sorry hammer guy but that won't work on me. [Gomu Gomu no Balloon]!"
Thor seeing this as well as the crowd soon understood what Luffy met when the attack hit him head-on.
*Bzzt*
As the hammer hit Luffy balloon stomach instead of blowing up all the Gods did a spit take as the One-Piece fans knew what this meant.
Even the Valkyries were surprised seeing this in action as Geir comment on it, "I have to admit when I thought he chose that Volund as a weapon like rubber I didn't expect to see it for real to be this troublesome."
Brunhild then smiled at this speaking to herself with pride in her voice, "Yes Geir although Luffy doesn't come from this world it just goes to show that Humanity has this power to fight the Gods with their creativity and is not even getting serious yet! Like oh my gosh!"
Alex just looked at Brunhild weirdly at her remark.
*Boing*
The [Thor's Hammer] technique was then bounced off from Luffy's body as he was flown into the air from the force as he tries another attack as he says to his opponent what he did like a Shonen protagonist, "Shishishi! Sorry hammer guy but electricity and blunt attacks won't work on a rubber man so tough luck. [Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun]!"
The Haki enhanced version of [Gomu Gomu no Gigant Pistol] after activating [Gear Third], Luffy will also implement [Armament Haki] into his attack, turning his arm black.
Just like his [Gomu Gomu no Bullet], Luffy launches his attack at his enemy with great destructive power, however, the Gear Third's air only fills the end of his arm, giving him a giant fist with an elephantine round wrist.
The Gods were in shock as they saw that Luffy's fist was now just as big as the whole arena as Thor smiled at the challenge getting himself lost in the heat of battle despite his damaged body.
Thor prepares another of his techniques against Luffy as he says to him full of joy to have a fight of this scale, "Human. No… your name is Monkey D. Luffy, right? I have one request to make... don't die on me now."
[Geirröd] Thor's ultimate technique which he has only unleashed once against Jormungandr, the 'World Serpent', instantly killing it.
Thor flings Mjolnir into the air with all of his might as the attack misses Luffy's giant fist as it was about to meet up with Thor, but he manages to retrieve it, adding on great velocity and centrifugal force before finally slamming it down upon his opponent.
*BOOOOOOOOOM*
A giant shockwave filled the arena as both of the attacks collied.
The attacks of these two forces caused a shockwave so strong that the arena was almost destroyed from the force of power they have produced as they are now standing away from each other as the attacks forced them to move away.
The minor Gods were shocked to their very core witnessing a human match against Thor.
It was absurd in their eyes, but they see the proof.
*Creak*

Getting up from the ruble of stone Luffy and Thor managed to both stand up as Thor's hammer began to break apart and started to show flesh of it beating.
Luffy seeing this grin happily as he asks Thor in a happy tone as his whole arm is in front of his face, "I see that you finally to take this seriously now then hammer guy?"
Thor chuckles loudly as he holds his hammer now getting ready to take this fight seriously as he responds to Luffy with joy in his voice, "HAHAHAHAHA!!! Why yes Luffy I haven't been this beaten or weaken in a very long time…. Now I get the chance to go all out from this point on yes? So how about you do the same then [King of the Pirates]?"
Luffy grins at this as he bites his muscles as he began to get into his [Gear Fourth].
Seeing this the One-Piece fans were going crazy from this!
Luffy's first [Gear Fourth] form is called [Boundman] Luffy's proportions become warped and his body becomes much larger in size, with his arms, upper torso, and legs coated in [Armament Haki], as a side-effect, he is incapable of standing still on the ground, and instead constantly bounds on the spot.
Thor seeing this charge lighting all around himself as he hears Luffy's transformation as they both began to fight, "Gear Fourthhh~ dew [Boundman]! Here I come hammer guy! [Gomu Gomu no Kong Gun]!"
[Gomu Gomu no Kong Gun] is the Gear Fourth version of [Gomu Gomu no Bullet] after compressing his fist into his enlarged forearm (and making it look like the barrel of an actual cannon), Luffy flies towards his opponent at high speeds and unleashes a devastating short-range punch with massive power.
*Swoosh*
Next, the second Luffy was standing away from Thor was now in front of him catching him off guard…
*BOOOOOM*
Next Thor was gone from his position as Luffy knocked him up into the sky as Thor managed to block the attack as he managed it with his hammer, but he felt a little numbness from his hands seeing Luffy attack as well as coughing out blood but otherwise...
This only made him grin even more.
With that, they took the battle to the sky as the Gods now felt something in their hearts that they haven't considered before that even Zeus would never acknowledge even if he doesn't show it…
Fear…

Both of the fighters were giving their all to hit each other as Thor wouldn't give up nor did Luffy as he released a barrage of his techniques at Thor who managed to avoid the attacks so that he won't injury himself.
While Luffy did the same using his future sight to get an edge to finally attack him as he looked for one….
As they were going Luffy found one possible future where he made a hit as he readies up another compressed attack…

Until Luffy got a hit in…

…using the most powerful attacks he had the using [Gomu Gomu no King Kong Gun].
[Gomu Gomu no King Kong Gun] is the [Gear Fourth] version of [Gomu Gomu no Gigant Pistol] and [Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun], and one of the most powerful techniques Luffy has ever utilized in any form.
After Luffy compresses his fist, as he does for Kong Gun, he blows a large amount of air into his arm, drastically increasing its size, then unleashes it for a devastating blow that manages to get Thor once he was exhausted too late to notice.
*BOOM*
A shockwave once again made more destruction as Thor was forced into the arena floor as he started to cough out a mouthful of blood and a bruise on his chest.
Thor not wanting to give up comes up again with a more bruised body as Luffy says to him in a cold tone, "Sorry hammer guy but it's time we end this now right? The first to lose with their strongest attacks lose ok."
Nodding his head at Luffy's request he was going to put his all into his last attack and Luffy in the air began to change once more going into another form as his body was at his body strain limit using his power to the fullest.
To Luffy fighting Thor using all of his attacks grinned as he says to him, "Ok then hammer guy let's see you handle this one! [Gear Fourth: Snakeman]!"
[Gear Fourth] known as [Snakeman] is unlike his other two Gear Fourth forms, Luffy does not significantly expand, with his forearms, legs, and upper torso being only slightly enlarged and the rest of his body retaining its normal proportions.
The spread of Haki is slightly more limited, as it does not appear to extend onto Luffy's shoulders and upper body, however, Luffy's hair becomes flame-shaped like his Haki and sticks up. Instead of steam, this form produces a gaseous substance appearing as a mix of steam and fire and like its other counterparts also seems to be draped over his shoulders like a scarf while in this form his fists also flex differently, with the first knuckles being extended, similar to leopard fist.
Thor seeing this gives his all to his final attack as he thanks Luffy in his words, "Very well... I'll send you as offerings in your name, [King of the Pirates]."
[Geirrod Thor's Hammer] is Thor's final technique which combines [Thor's Hammer] and [Geirrod] similar to [Geirrod], Thor flings Mjolnir into the air with all of his might missing Luffy and retrieves it, adding on great velocity and centrifugal force before finally slamming it down upon his opponent with all his final might remaining in his body.
Luffy uses his final attack the [Gomu Gomu no Naga Urban].
Luffy forms both of his arms into a drill-like weapon, which produces a steamy image of a serpent when it was in a process of attacking as he then launches his arms to perform a high-speed twin drill punch.
This attack is more powerful than King Kong Gun and King Cobra.
As Luffy attacks his final move to Thor they both named their final attack to their opponent knowing it may be their last, "Take this hammer guy/Monkey D. Luffy! [Geirrod Thor's Hammer]/ [Gomu Gomu no Naga Urban]!!!!!"
When they finally used all of their attacks, they both met, and then…
The might of Thor's power against the steamy image of a serpent attack Thor with it bearing its fangs on it his hammer as they clashed for dominance!
Just as Thor's hammer has the edge of the clash it left Luffy with no choice but to add his fullest Haki into his attack!
Luffy seeing this adds one final boost to his attack by using the [Conqueror Haki] into it to finally beat Thor…
The steamy serpent then roared at the hammer as if biting it down to destroy it as sparks of Haki were off from it determine to defeat the hammer!
Sparks were flying from the attack as…
*BOOOOOM*
*Splat*

…
Thor's arms were blown off from his body not handling the force while his hammer has gotten destroyed as the attack of Luffy managed to beat it and pierced through Thor's chest as he looks at Luffy with a smile as he begins to crack up leaving the world, "Oh… I lost… I guess this is a joy for losing for a change its… a nice feeling… Luffy you are a worthy foe to lose to…"
Luffy smiles at this as he replies to him before he is flown away from the wind but not before smiling at Luffy for the final time, "Shishishi…! Yeah you were really strong if you were around, I would've had you joined my crew!"
Like that the first round shocked the Gods as humanity won their first fight…
But the next six wins are the challenging part as the Gods got ready to bring Shiva next while Alex sees the next opponent.
Looking at its Alex thinks to himself in a curious tone, 'I see it's that guy Shiva is next huh? Well, then I wonder if he can handle the next guy, I have in store for him.'
With that Luffy returned home while the Valkyries and Alex plan their next challenger.
