Chapter 19: Future Foundation

Chapter 19: Future Foundation

~Liam POV~

*Vroom*

Moved outside the doors of where Byakuya is being held as I made sure to collect everything I know about the Future Foundation locations and members.

Showing the keys I began to open the door as I began to glance at the man in question.

The Ultimate Affluent Proency Togami Byakuya.

Wearing his business clothes and suit being professional as he was gagged up and chained up.

He could only glare at me with suspicion once I made my appearance known.

Deciding to have some small talk with the man in question I began to read his thoughts with Telepathy as I spoke, "Well what do you know the famous Togami gagged like an animal. If you're wondering if I'm with Remnants of Despair. I ain't one of that terrorists. But I ain't an ally so… I'm going to need some info."

Togami merely glares at me as an enemy.

Yeah, I would do the same in his shoes.

Sadly though I came to collect info and time to start.

Using Telepathy a standardly I can read people's thoughts but using PSY energy connecting his thoughts to my own I can begin collecting the info easily of his brain of what I need to know.

Saiki explained it to me simply and my adaptability only made me more used to it.

Now then time to begin info gathering…

Obtaining the data from Togami relating to anything of the Future Foundation I made sure to collect everything relevant about them.

The Future Foundation is an organization in the Danganronpa series, which is comprised of former Hope's Peak Academy students and personnel.

Their main plan is to bring the world back into order and devise ways to bring it back to normal and rid of despair.

While all divisions agreed to save and protect any victims that suffered under the Remnants of Despair, the method to eliminate despair varied.

The 2nd Division and the 6th Division decided upon a simple plan of exterminating all Remnants of Despair and anyone that assist them, in order to minimize increased death.

The 1st Division and 10th Division favored in removing the source of despair that exists in human nature.

14th Division is in favor of showing the concept of hope pretty sure that's the MC group there.

Each division was assigned a particular task:

1st Division: Provide overall directions and leadership of Future Foundation.

2nd Division: Manage day-to-day operations of the Future Foundation, construction of the facility; expansion of organization; military and peacekeeping force.

3rd Division: Human resources, including scouting for potential members and personnel assignments.

4th Division: Research and develop medical techniques.

5th Division: Intelligence, Inquiry, and Counter-Espionage.

6th Division: Policing, including riot suppression and investigation of special crimes.

7th Division: Information System security and administration; Research and develop a therapy to cure Despair.

8th Division: Long-term stable food procurement.

9th Division: Armament R&D, Production, and distribution.

10th Division: Assistance in reviving education and culture.

11th Division: Assistance in restoring agriculture in the disaster area.

12th division: Assistance in restoring infrastructure; such as transportation, communication, and public facilities.

13th division: Front-line Food and Resource Distribution.

14th Division: Public Relations; spreading news of Future Foundation's activities to the public.

But most of all I got the general location of where Future Foundation was located at.

And because of this, I managed to know where I can find Ryota Mitarai but most importantly to find the one item I need for victory.

Hope Video.

At some point during The Tragedy, Ryota perfected his original animation, creating a "Hope Video" that brainwashes the viewer into accepting hope over despair.

He kept a copy of this video on his cell phone, presumably to protect himself in the chaotic new world by literally forcing any attackers out of despair.

The Hope Video appears to display a sequence of shifting patterns on a light blue background. Watching the video for even a few seconds leaves the viewer in a hypnotized state, allowing Ryota to command them as he wishes.

However, it is implied that prolonged exposure is needed to make the effects permanent; Aoi Asahina (who saw the video momentarily) regained her senses after a few minutes, and Ryota's global broadcast showed a thirty-minute countdown before the video's work was "complete".

The video consists of a series of bright symmetrical patterns, similar to what one would see in a kaleidoscope.

When someone watches the video, their eyes shine a similarly bright color before becoming faded and lifeless, forcefully erasing all traces of despair from their minds. Kyosuke Munakata likened the process to strip away the target's humanity by forcing them to feel only positive emotions.

Viewers of the Hope Video are susceptible to orders from the person who showed them the video, as seen when Ryota showed the video to Aoi Asahina and the Future Foundation's rescue squad, with the latter transmitting the video to the rest of the Future Foundation's security forces in turn.

The Hope Video's primary flaw is that its effects will wear off over time unless the viewer is exposed to the video for approximately thirty minutes.

And I know where to find him overseas he lives in the secret headquarters of Future Foundation.

This is certainly great intel I obtained and will be useful for me in the long run of things.

Now I just need to go to that overseas location but that's easier said than done here.

*Vroom*

With that, I began to use my Telekinesis to use Flight as I fly away from here and open up a portal to a parallel dimension of this where it was relatively safer than before the tragedy of the events happening.

The much safer time that it was here.

A simpler time really.

Quickly entering the portal I began to enter into a world that was before the tragedy of this shit show.

But great game.

*Vroom*

Exiting out through a close parallel world of this one I began to fly towards the location that Togami had in his head while I chart using the map and magic compass on my sides coursing through my way.

Still, this place is much better off than in the other alternate dimension.

The Tragedy, shortened from The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History, also called The Worst, Most Despair-inducing Incident in the History of Mankind is a major event occurring in the Hope's Peak Series of Danganronpa storyline.

It began around one year before the Killing School Life that befell the students of Class 78th and was triggered by The Tragedy of Hope's Peak Academy.

The Tragedy has been described by various people as being an extraordinary form of social unrest, which quickly escalated into uncontrolled, meaningless chaos, violence, and death. This incident was caused by Junko Enoshima and the Ultimate Despair.

It was ultimately terminated thanks to the combined efforts of Ryota Mitarai's brief broadcast of the Hope Video and the Future Foundation's involvement in helping rebuild the world.

With Ultimate Despair working to fuel the flames of discontent, the "anti-talent" movement rapidly engulfed the world, becoming more violent by the day; chaos and death quickly became a normal part of society, and the original motives for the protests were lost.

Soon, the better portion of the population had fallen into despair and anarchy, and the major worldwide phenomenon known as The Tragedy (or the biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history) was born.

In response to these dire developments, Hope's Peak Academy decided to cease operations as an educational facility, effectively transforming the school into a shelter for the remaining students.

Unfortunately, Junko was among those students, and she hijacked the plan from within the locked-down facility by killing headmaster Jin Kirigiri and erasing the memories of the other survivors, except those of her fellow conspirator and twin sister, Mukuro Ikusaba.

With that done, Junko plotted to use the Ultimate students as a means to finally erase the last shreds of hope in the ravaged world, setting into motion the events of the Killing School Life.

In the end, the plan backfired.

Although many students died including Mukuro, Junko was unable to drag the survivors into despair, largely through the efforts and encouragement of Makoto Naegi.

His defiance led to him gaining the title of "Ultimate Hope" and driving Junko to execute herself, simultaneously giving the world a new champion and depriving Ultimate Despair of its founder and mastermind.

At least to later portions of the series but in the end, everything went to shit.

And it wasn't even a magical girl's fault that caused this.

Nope.

Just people's great stupidity of the whole operation that caused all of that.

Sigh…

Shaking my head off that it was their own fuck ups that happened.

And even if I could help out it would take the time I need to take back my home Earth planet from the Viltrimites which could take a while for me to accomplish it.

For that, I need to use the time I have to sparingly save my own world not as a hero that's for sure.

I'll deal with those issues later.

Glancing above the building above on high seeing the building is almost complete that could mean a few things but this is good for me.

Gently flying down on the ground with everyone seeing me fly freaking the hell out I didn't care what they thought as the guards are coming soon.

*Fwoosh*

Using my Telekinesis I tossed them to the side as I make my way inside following the info of Togami's mind trying to locate a certain room.

*Thud*

More forces are coming as I throw them out of my way keeping my Psychic barrier active.

Droves of them come to me like a flock of chickens as I easily best them and their bullets…

*Bang*

*Bang*

They can't even come close to me using my Esper Psychic Barrier even a simple one as they started to back off seeing me in person.

"Who are you."

Looking the man in front of me is Munakata I think his name was as he glares at me despite me having powers.

Then again he wouldn't be a leader if he couldn't look me dead in the eyes.

Smirking a bit I gave him a small brief reply before I vanished, "Sorry mate but nope."

*Swoosh*

Like that, I teleported out of that situation.

I have plans and I don't have time to play.

Just follow the plan.

Simple take and take.

No more and no less.
