Chapter 11: Esper

Chapter 11: Esper

~Liam POV~

Sitting across from Mob he began to emit his psychic powers although slowly as I saw it in full view impressed by this seeing an Esper in action like this.

Shigeo's psychic aura is usually blue but can sometimes show shades of pink and purple. It also has a polygonal pattern.

Still though not going to lie that this looks pretty though.

And like that Mob tried to warn me to back out of this as he asked with some caution in his voice, "Are you positive you want this mister? This could be your chance to leave."

No way.

Not after searching for months to find this place.

I already know this will work because of my adaptability and meta-knowledge of one of Mob's skills.

Psychic Energy Transference.

Shigeo has the ability to energize others with his power, both espers, and non-espers. In the case of the latter, it bleeds out quickly since their bodies can't contain his power for very long, and is of limited use unless the person already knows how to use psychic powers.

However, even a non-esper can have basic abilities such as a protective barrier for the duration of this effect.

But in my case, my body will adapt to the changes and be able to produce a resistance to it or… I gain the same ability to manipulate it.

Either way, I get something good from this experience.

With that, he began to let the psychic energy course around me as I let it happen as I needed this power badly for someone in my situation.

I could've gotten my psychic powers from the Claw organization, but I don't exactly like their methods.

Claw is a terrorist organization composed of many espers. They recruited espers to strengthen themselves and planned to overthrow the world government. The organization was founded and led by Toichiro Suzuki.

The Scars were the supposed upper echelon of Claw and the strongest combatants within the divisions of the organization. In each division, there was one Scar who was more powerful than the other Scars of that division. This most powerful Scar held the position of "division leader".

Unlike the foot soldiers of Claw, whose psychic powers were somewhat negligible, the Scars were particularly powerful espers who could hold their own in combat and possessed special techniques.

When a member of Claw defied and/or challenged the boss, a wound was placed on their face and they become a Scar. According to the Scars themselves, the scar was a representation of the boss acknowledging the recipient's skills.

In actuality, however, the scars were marks to show the recipients had been "crossed out" and deemed useless by the boss; they would be disposed of once world domination was completed.

The HQ was the most important division in the Claw hierarchy, composed of the boss, the Ultimate 5, the Antenna Team, many low-ranking subordinates, and an army of 600 espers.

It was revealed by Matsuo that everyone in the 600-person army was originally a non-esper; however, after Suzuki imbued them with his power, they were powerful enough in groups to collapse buildings without breaking a sweat.

Hence a person can get psychic powers if they are imbued or empowered by psychic energy.

And this was why I went to Mob to get my powers because I can't with Scar because they are a bunch of crazy fucks to their recruits and their methods.

The Recruits were young espers that were captured by claw and subjected to brainwashing to turn them into loyal subordinates.

Their strength as espers varied. It was implied by Sho that brainwashing causes exceptional espers, such as Mob, Teru, and Ritsu, to lose a great deal of potential.

In the 7th division, the brainwashing was carried out by one of the Scars who had the power to make people hallucinate. He would show recruits fearful visions of death in order to scare them into submission.

Recruits would be taken one at a time, while the others if any, were kept in a jail cell being guarded by a number of foot soldiers. After being subjected to the brainwashing process, a recruit would change into the Claw uniform and be placed among the foot soldiers.

Yeah…

I like my free will thank you very much but another reason for me to get psychic powers was for me to unlock my Telekinesis a busted superpower but constantly overlooked because of how other anime characters used them.

Telekinesis, sometimes referred to as Psychokinesis or in the case of Spirits Poltergeist Phenomenon is the ability to manipulate matter and objects with the user's mind. It's one of the basic psychic powers in the series and was shown by many Espers and Spirits with various usage.

Telekinesis on its basic level allows the user to create psychic barriers, enhance the user's physical abilities and make blasts of mental energy.

More skilled espers can manipulate many objects at once, fly, disassemble matter and reconstruct it on a molecular level. In some cases, it's even possible to break the defenses of other espers in order to ragdoll them.

Usually the bigger object, the harder it is to manipulate but I prefer to have that Psychic Barrier

one of more basic techniques. With the use of telekinesis, the user can create a force field around his body to defend against upcoming attacks.

The user has psychokinesis, the psychic ability to interact with/manipulate objects and matter with mental effort alone. The difference between this and telekinesis is that while telekinesis allows you to move objects at a distance, it does not specify the method by how it is accomplished.

Telekinesis is not necessarily a psychic power, while Psychokinesis is.

Sometimes people will refer to psychokinesis as telekinesis, which is not inaccurate because it is a form of telekinesis. In many settings, the terms are interchangeable, but the distinction is often necessary for settings with both psychic and non-psychic telekinesis or when talking about fiction in general.

As the ability is tied directly to the mind, it can be activated and controlled through conscious effort and concentration, through willpower and emotion of a particular level of intensity, or through achieving a state of discipline and serenity.

In some cases, the ability can respond to the user's thoughts and ideas, imagination, desires or belief in their abilities.

In some cases, this could make the power harder or easier to activate, and in these cases, it is often more challenging to control.

A common example is behaving erratically during moments of stress, rendering it a liability or even a hazard in those scenarios unless the user can regain control.

Moreover, these aspects of the user's mind and mental capacity can potentially affect the accuracy, precision, range, and strength of their ability and the subsequent limitations of its intuitiveness, usability, and reliability in different situations.

In extreme examples, the ability can be so intense as to allow for the user to passively influence matter using their presence alone. In some cases, the users' power may be used through instinct or some form of intuition or extrasensory perception rather than physical senses or conscious thought.

Sometimes the ability itself can be used to actively perceive the world by projecting psychic energy onto it, similar to echolocation, acting as an extension of the user's physical senses.

But that wasn't the main reason why I went to Mob first since I feel my body begin to adapt to Mob's psychic power as I felt a tug of energy entering into the body and absorbing some into my body.

After a little bit of time, my body began to adapt to this new energy entering my body as I began to instantly understand as began to absorb some more in the process almost draining from Mob's own power.

Maybe it has to do with my new adaption ability as I felt… like I could do more as he transfers his psychic energy into me…

Ack!

The mob looked genuinely surprised as he replied somewhat shocked that flashed on his face, "Oh? It looks like you tapped. I'll stop right now mister it seems like your body can't handle it anymore."

Ouch… but…

Yup and I'm damn proud to adapt and survive from Mob giving me psychic powers.

Hahaha!

Since I gained this new power I began to adapt as I see a glowing color of green emeralds surrounding me like the color of my portal eerie green light.

Nice.

But also I need to learn how to manage my new power and properly polish it into something useful.

That was when Mob was done with his process I bowed to the kid as I thanked him and Reigan for all of this being possible, "No worries kid I'll be sure to be responsible. But I will require to increase my research about this later. Anyway, I thank the two of you for this experiment. Here's your pay."

Handing them over Yen to them exactly 10,000 dollars Reigan's eyes expanded comedically at this as I began to walk away as I activate my new Esper powers and turn them on and off again getting some used to them.

Not bad at all coming here when I gained the powers to adapt.

Plus, a most important fact about these Esper powers in the world of Mob Psycho I can practically do any ability that anyone in the series could do but for the moment I would need to work on the really useful ones for the time being.

Teleportation.

Telepathy.

Telekinesis.

Technokinesis.

Flight.

Psychic Barriers.

Those are what I need to practice on for this point forward as I would need them since they are each useful for each way.

It has been stated in the show that it's possible for anyone to learn these powers even if they are unique, they can be learned which means I could have the same means as well if I learn but it will take some time to produce results.

But I'm a patient guy plus I have plenty of zombies back at the High School of the Dead dimension there for me to test out these abilities but even then the results could be varying for numerous amount of reasons.

Sigh…

Shaking my head at this I began to retrace my steps for the time being as what I need now though is that I need to work on obtaining Technokinesis, Teleportation, and Psychic Barriers for the time being as with as I am I need defenses.

I have my portals for a quick getaway, but I also need a fast means of traveling or a short burst of speed using Teleportation.

For now, I should focus on my own psychic abilities first.

At least I should be fine against other psychic users for a while at least.

Time to get starting on those skills.

Maybe I should specifically target the people to teach me but I don't know how to search for them?

Hmm…
