Before Lant Agriche had called Jeremy and Roxana Agriche into his office, he sent a letter to the crown prince.

The crown prince opened the letter wondering what kind of ridiculous thing Lant was going to do.

Your Highness

I have taken care of all the pieces of evidence of the incident in the dining room. The family members of all the servants killed in that room have been exterminated. Any person who had contact with them regularly has been removed from the face of the world.

I can assure you that you won't face any problems regarding that event. I also apologize for any disrespect I might have shown to you during the dinner. I couldn't keep my anger in control.

As an apology, I want to offer the diamond mine at the edge of the Agriche territory which is bordering the capital. You will have full rights to it. You can see the legal documents sent to you along with this letter.

I have taken care of any legal problems it might cause. I hope that this will be enough as an apology as this is one of the most profitable pieces of resource in our territory.

You are free to enjoy your stay here for as many days as you might want. As a form of respect to you, my daughter Roxana Agriche will be assisting you with any of the requests you might have.

Reading this letter, Aston had a slight smile on his face.

He passed the letter to Edmund and looked outside the window while interlocking his fingers.

After Edmund had read the whole letter, he exclaimed with slight joy, "Your majesty, this is a great opportunity. The Agriche's Diamond mine in Kellurk will be extremely beneficial for our finances."

"It can practically increase our profits double-fold in the diamond mining industry if we utilise it properly."

Aston sighed with slight disappointment, "Ah, Edmund. Why don't you see the main point of the letter? The diamond mine is fine. If we needed financial help. I would have just taken all major mines with force. What can they do? They can't do shit."

"Anyway, why don't you focus on the lower part of the letter? Edmund, sometimes you are too stupid in these matters. That diamond mine was just used as a distraction so I won't focus on the other part of the letter."

Edmund read the latter part again and exclaimed, "The head of the Agriches is offering you his daughter?"

"Ding, Ding. You are absolutely correct. It looks like he thinks he doesn't have any other choice than this. Though he can try his luck with others, the result won't be pretty anyway."

Edmund addressed his lord with respect and asked, "Lord, may I get rid of the woman before she can try one of her discreet skills on you?"

This sudden enthusiasm from Edmund surprised Aston slightly as he said, "Wow, Edmund. Didn't expect that from you. Who could have known that the smiling monster hunter would start killing people without any qualms and become a monster himself."

This scathing remark pierced Edmund's heart as he was reminded of his old days and mistakes.

He calmed down the feelings that were engulfing his mind.

"Anyway, it's good you are getting a bit more faithful. And no, no need of getting rid of her, I am not weak enough to be defeated by one of her paltry tricks."

"I believe it will be fun to watch how she acts, will she be a dull, predictable person or something entertaining..."

"Also, Edmund. Use that skill of yours on her, give me a report after you have analysed it properly."

Edmund agreed immediately, "Of course, my lord. I will give the report to you after a week."

Aston then picked up a book from a nearby bookshelf and started reading it leisurely.

It was an eye-soothing scene...

An attractive and elegant person reading a book, his faithful butler on his master's side, always ready to do his best and the tranquil atmosphere around them...
