(Aston's POV)

When I saw Roxana unconscious on the floor, a heavy sigh left my mouth as I internally facepalmed.

For a few minutes, I continued to just stare at her body hoping that she would wake up on her own. But I guess that wasn't going to happen.

Why did Edmund have to go on a mission today only? Even Panem is not present, not that he could do much in this situation. Ah shit.

Should I just let her die? I can manage to find the information from other people. But... if I have to kill them, I would like to kill them in one swoop. Killing them one by one isn't difficult but it will be tiring to explain how they died. Edmund isn't also available to take care of the aftermath. I guess I will save her, might make her indebted to me. It can be advantageous to me.

From what Edmund has told me, she just wants to survive her destiny and she is extremely scared of her death. She fully believes that I am going to kill her and her family, which is kinda true. She has good survival instincts, I have to say.

I motioned my hand toward unconscious Roxana and did an upward gesture. Roxana started floating above the ground. He motioned her beside him and let her rest in a proper posture.

This is one of the more basic abilities of my Sanguis Imperium (Blood Control) in which just like my own blood, I can control the blood of other people. However, the effectivity is lessened as it's the blood of another person. It doesn't effective outside the 7m radius so really useful in close combat. Most of the times I can just use it and reverse the blood flow of my opponent and make him faint.

I can also use it to control my opponent's actions which is useful several times. It's fun to see them killing their allies unintentionally. Then the weaker-willed ones just kill themselves and the stronger-willed ones try to attack me, well the weaker-willed ones die less painfully than the stronger-willed ones.

I wipe the blood that was on her chin, just under the lips. It looks like normal blood, not different from any other person. But I know how poisonous it is. She must have been trained in poison resistance since her childhood. I lick her blood off my finger and it is really deadly.

It can kill a person like me who has not developed poison resistance for a long period of time in a matter of minutes. However, I have used the ability of Sanguis Imperium to fortify my blood from all possible things that can affect me.

I can't die from any infection, can't be affected by poison, from hallucinogenic or sleeping pills because of my overwhelming vitality. My blood detoxifies any outside substances or gets rid of them automatically. I can't even get drunk without interfering in the process, not that I would ever want to.

So, I will need to lessen the poisonous substance in her body without affecting her poison resistance too much. Though it is easy as a pie to do it in my body, however, it is slightly tricky to do it in someone else's body.

I have done it to Edmund and changing the nature of blood on a microscopic scale is impossible without me being in contact with some kind of fluid of that person's body And you have to be in contact with it for some time for it to work. When I was doing it to Edmund, I just poked a hole in his arm and improved his blood's vitality which means he could easily live another 40 years without any problems.

In that process, I gain absolute control over that person's blood system when it is reached and I can kill them off with just a thought if they are present within a 50 km radius. It becomes useless outside of it.

The only people I have done it to are that stupid excuse of the emperor and Edmund. I have done it to the emperor only because of the purpose to kill him whenever I want. However, it is currently only working for Edmund, and not for the emperor as the Agriches are the farthest ducal house from the capital.

I examine Roxana's body keenly, trying to find a place where a scar wouldn't be too conspicuous. But couldn't find any place like it, she would notice it anywhere on her body.

However, a useful idea entered my train of thought.

(3rd Person POV)

Aston turned towards Roxana. Her beautiful face had an expression of discomfort. She seemed to be in pain and a state of weakness.

He used his left hand to part open Roxana's luscious, red lips. They were natural and didn't have a smudge of make-up on them. The colour of her juicy and alluring lips was red, just like a rose petal synonymous with her reputation as the rose of the Agriches.

Then the finger of his other hand descended into her mouth. Aston was going to use her saliva to improve her condition and make sure to have control over her. With it, I can ensure that she won't be able to betray me.

The reason why he was able to control blood through her saliva was that saliva is basically filtered blood. Saliva has red blood cells and some other components removed when they go through the salivary glands. Aston wasn't sure about how the whole thing actually worked but he had already experimented with his own saliva.

His fingers roamed in Roxana's mouth as he was executing his ability. He closed his eyes and kept his ability going on. While he was doing so, Roxana started stirring as she got healed second by second. Her breath started turning rough and ragged.

Panting

Roxana's pale face started turning healthy and was flushed with redness as her blood circulation had returned to normal. After Aston ensured that Roxana had been healed, he took his hand back from her mouth.

Two of his fingers were laden with Roxana's saliva, he heaved a sigh of relief and promised himself internally that he will kill her if she doesn't remain useful.

He pulled out the book he was reading from his clean hand and licked off Roxana's saliva using his tongue absentmindedly.

The beautiful defenceless maiden was sleeping beside the handsome devil.

Nothing much happened in the room that day.
