50 Chapter 50 The Test

"Austin, what's wrong with you?"

While Austin was spacing out, Pietro beside him couldn't help but ask.

"Huh? What do you mean? I'm fine," Austin responded as if nothing had happened. But in his mind, he still pictured the terrifying spatial rift and the unknown giant he had just seen.

"You just froze while holding this thing, I thought something happened to you," Pietro said, looking strangely at the TamPad in Austin's hand. He had not forgotten that it was this little thing that brought the two of them out of the previous world.

"Oh, nothing, I just got lost in thought," Austin said.

From Pietro's reaction, Austin could judge that although he had spent a long time in "that place", here probably only a few seconds had passed. The flow of time was different on both sides.

In addition, Austin did not intend to tell others what had just happened to him. It wasn't that Austin wanted to hide anything, but that even he himself couldn't digest what had happened for a while. Telling others would probably just cause them unnecessary worry.

Moreover, the most critical issue now was not to get tangled up over that terrifying rift with an unknown location, but to resolve the trouble of this universe created by Barry Allen as soon as possible.

To resolve this disaster, General Zod was an obstacle that must be dealt with no matter what. And to deal with him, he could not be allowed to remain on the advantageous battlefield of Earth. Austin had considerately selected a very good burial ground for him.

However, Austin could not be certain at this time if that red sun detected by Time Miss was the so-called "Red Sun" in the DC universe. After all, the two universes were different and the rules might not be the same either. So whether this red sun would work still required a Kryptonian volunteer to test it out.

Coincidentally, there was an existence from Krypton in the current Wayne Manor.

Thinking of this, Austin immediately decided to return to the rooftop to look for Kara.

"Austin, we're almost ready," Adult Barry Allen said the moment he saw Austin about to leave again.

For Barry Allen, he still hoped that Austin would be there with him when he regained his powers, because even he himself was uncertain whether his plan would succeed. If it failed, he would undoubtedly be killed by the Flashpoint.

Since Austin seemed to know so much about the multiverse, having the two of them watching over would at least allow Barry Allen to preserve his life even if something unexpected happened.

Hearing Barry Allen's words, Austin paused for a moment. After thinking briefly, he turned around and said,

"Go ahead and start, I still have some things to do to find that Kryptonian girl. But remember, your plan is good, but part of your Speed Force has transferred onto little Barry. So if you want your powers back, apart from these external factors, you'd also need to have contact with little Barry the instant you're struck by lightning."

"What do you mean?" Both Barry Allens asked, puzzled.

"It means having the Barry Allen of this world activate your originally vanished Speed Force by activating his own speed and re-injecting Speed Force into your body at the same time the lightning falls."

Without the need for Austin to answer, the old Batman - Bruce Wayne gave an explanation. At the same time, he couldn't help but shake his head slightly and muttered softly, "Still don't understand these powers well enough. I actually didn't think of such a critical step."

Seeing this, Austin also nodded at them before leaving the Batcave again.

Getting the Flash's super powers back was not difficult in itself, it just looked somewhat dangerous. After all, this guy was the one chosen by the Speed Force. But to be on the safe side, Austin still had Pietro stay behind.

On one hand, although Pietro looked unreliable, when it came to getting things done he could still be relied on. If anything unexpected happened, having Pietro around could resolve it.

Secondly, this was a test run. Austin and Kara just needed to complete it, not to mention bringing an extra person would consume more power. Upholding the principle of saving wherever possible, Austin decided not to bring Pietro along.

Returning to Wayne Manor, just as Austin was about to head to the rooftop, he looked up and saw Kara holding a large piece of bread in one hand and a bottle of red wine in the other, eating with great relish.

She seemed to be enjoying the food so much that she did not notice anyone approaching.

By the time she noticed Austin's arrival, he had already come face-to-face with her. Seeing Austin's somewhat stunned look, Kara felt a little embarrassed. Then, as if explaining and muttering to herself, she said,

"I was going to come down to find you, but I felt a little hungry when I passed by here. I haven't eaten anything for so long, so I just casually tried some."

Austin didn't react too much to this. After all, she wasn't eating his stuff. "It's fine, eat whatever you want. I was just wondering why you would want to eat after receiving sunlight exposure, but I forgot you haven't had a proper meal in a long time. Sorry about that."

"It's okay." Kara put down what was in her hands. She had already changed into her Kryptonian combat uniform, that red and blue outfit. After changing, her whole being seemed more spirited.

Although she didn't know why Austin had come up suddenly, from his actions, the other party was definitely here specifically looking for her. Seeing Austin looking like he wanted to say something but didn't know how, Kara straightforwardly took the initiative,

"You must be here for something, right? You saved me so I owe you. Just let me know if there's anything you need me to do. As long as I can help, I'll do my best."

"Anything goes?" Austin couldn't help but want to tease her a little. Perhaps only at this moment would Austin have the idea of joking around with someone.

"Anything goes," Kara replied very straightforwardly, clearly not detecting Austin's implication at all.

Upon seeing this, Austin could only sigh and gave up trying to have some fun. His tone turned serious as he continued, "I may have a way to kill General Zod. This would not only save this planet but also avenge your brother."

"What way?!" Before Austin could finish, Kara couldn't help but blurt out. She had originally wanted to go down and discuss ways of revenge with Austin. She didn't expect him to already have a solution, so how could Kara stay calm?

"That's what I was about to explain next. If General Zod remains empowered by the yellow sunlight, his strength will be greater than all of ours combined, so we can't fight him here. I have a way to bring him to another planet, but I'm unsure if that planet's red sun would affect him."

Upon hearing this, Kara immediately understood Austin's intention.

"I see. You want me to go test whether the sunlight on that planet truly affects Kryptonians, right? Fine, I'll do it."
