38 Memories Of The Past

After that awkward morning conversation with D and Bocchi, the fact that Bocchi never came back after 'cleaning' her fingers became suspicious, especially for her mother.

But certainly, for us, it was obvious what she did, even for me who didn't know about it until D mentioned it.

Anyway, it turns out Bocchi holed up in her room, after that incident, and as for D, she left to buy something in the convenience store, which was suspicious, let's be honest, whatever she does is suspicious, there isn't a moment that she isn't.

Buying a napkin for her monthly cycle? Very suspicious, as if a non-human being like her needed something like that, in the first place her body is nothing more than a puppet to the real thing.

"I know she's planning something, I can feel it." I didn't realize at that time how right I was with that statement.

As I was about to move from my spot, suddenly the shop called for my presence as there's another group of customers that was about to arrive.

I'm really happy to have them, but if this is going to happen often then I'd be really annoyed, thankfully though I have a solution for that as a shop, it is possible for me to hire someone as a staff member, a clerk to be exact.

Although for now, I won't hire any as I currently lack points to hire them, after all, nothing is free, that's why I needed a stable income from the shop first before hiring anyone.

Sure, while I'm not lacking any sort of money in my world, however, it's different in the shop as I needed to pay my staff with credits.

And I have to pay them per hour, which is why I'm unwilling since every point is important to me at the moment.

With that in mind, I went to my shop with a single with everything ready, my uniform check, my posture check, my smile check.

And oh, almost forgot the gloves, after that check.

Now I'm ready to greet the customers with a smile on my face. "Greetings welcome to the shop, where you can buy anything at the right price."

As soon as I saw the customers. I immediately knew that I'm definitely getting big money this time as I saw her.

Salem, she's here with the intention to convert her immortality I'm sure of it. I don't even need to do anything for her to convert it.

As far as I'm concerned she hates it, and treats it as a curse rather than a blessing as her ex-husband does.

No wonder they're a couple, their compatibility is high enough to be similar to each other.

From all the things she expected, she never thought their destination would be a shop, so far the building doesn't have anything extraordinary aside from the items on the shelves, of course, they certainly don't feel ordinary.

Anyway, if it wasn't for Ozma personally vouching for this place. I wouldn't have believed it, but then again with her thousand of years experience living amongst the mortals, she knew that one shouldn't judge by its cover, as she experienced it enough times to know that something ordinary could mean extraordinary.

Another thing, this man who greeted them is someone mysterious, it wasn't like he looked special, while he may be handsome, she had met plenty of good-looking men throughout her life, so his appearance wasn't anything special to her.

But what she meant by mysterious, is because of this man's presence, not to mention his aura is screaming powerful, someone that could crush her with ease.

Definitely, someone she should be cautious of, unlike her ex-husband who was sold to this man, she wasn't and certainly doesn't trust him a bit.

"So, you want to convert your immortality?" The shop owner asked with a harmless smile, but it was actually far from being harmless as she could feel the danger radiating from his very being.

Regardless of what she felt, she answered. "Yes, I do."

Since this man is clearly powerful, it certainly gives her hope that he could remove her cursed immortality.

"Are you sure that it's only your immortality you want to convert? Because I can also remove that grimm essence that made you look like that." He reminded her.

"Oh, that too.." Salem almost forgot about that, without her immortality surely she'd be dead right this instant with the grimm essence inside her.

"Alright then." With that, he snapped his fingers, and suddenly something inside of her soul and body got drained.

The essence that she got from diving into the grimm pool twice, and also her immortality.

An I.D fell directly into her lap, but she was busy feeling something that was taken away from her, not that she minded, she was better out without those things anyway, suddenly she heard someone gasps behind her, she looked at the culprit and saw that it was her ex-husband Ozma, who was looking at her with a terrible nostalgia, warmth and deep affection of love.

However, it disappeared as soon as it appeared, as he shook his head reminded that it was all in the past.

It was the look of the man she used to love, honestly, she was disappointed that it disappeared.

Then she shifted her attention back to the shop owner and asked politely as she could. "Can I please borrow a mirror?"

The man bowed slightly and replied. "Certainly."

It didn't take more than a second for the man to bring a hand mirror, quickly without hesitation she looked at herself in the mirror, she couldn't stop herself from looking at it with surprise.

Even though she had been expecting to look exactly the same before she got corrupted by the grimm essence, it was still shocking.

Touching herself in the face, she can't help it, it's been so long since she saw her face, her original non-corrupted.

As narcissistic as it is to hear, she is beautiful, amazingly so, it was a beauty that her corrupted self can never compare to.

"My original appearance is back…" It is no wonder that Ozma reacted like that because seeing her face certainly recalls those beautiful memories of the past, the happy past without hate, despair, and sadness.

"Mommy? Is that you?" Hearing that from her children, she shifts her attention toward her little darlings and smiles at her treasures.

"Yes, it is Mommy sweetie…" Salem remembered that her four daughters haven't seen her original appearance without corruption.

When she bore the 4 of them, she was already corrupted, it got worse when they died and killed her ex-husband's first incarnation.

After that she jumped at the grimm pool once more, so that she would die, but she failed yet again making her insane, not to mention the corrupted grimm essence only amplified that madness inside her making her sanity shattered.

Oh, how many innocent people she killed with that madness, which she didn't regret doing by the way, to her people are replaceable, livestock that she could kill anytime she wanted.

She kisses the 4 of her daughters with her uncorrupted self and realized her sense of taste was back to her, after being corrupted by the grimm pool, most of her senses disappeared like her sense of taste, sense of smell, and her sense of touch was greatly dulled to the point that she could hardly feel anything, making her truly inhuman in the process.

Salem can't wait to eat something, since regaining her sense of taste needs a celebration, only then she notices the I.D. that fell into her lap.

"Oh, so this is the card Ozma has, although why is it Gold? While mine is a cheap Bronze…it makes me feel inferior, not to mention that golden emblem above his head looks nice." Salem said, irritated.

"Oh, Mrs. Ashari, you could have the same as Ozma if you spend 10,000 credits in the shop catalog." The shop owner helpfully explained.

"Is that so? That's easy." With that, she went to the shop catalog and saw things that blew her mind, as most of these items could beat the brother gods like they were toddlers.

It was definitely tempting to buy, here literally you could buy things that make her a goddess amongst mortals, unlike her ex-husband she is definitely interested in becoming one, she wouldn't be just a false god but a real one.

However, she couldn't afford to become an omnipotent goddess right now, although she could settle for a minor god, but it definitely isn't enough, which she reluctantly passed.

Since she can't afford most of the powerful things that she wanted, she decided to go to the dessert section to buy something sweet.

Because she likes them, it's been so long since she tasted sweet, so it's definitely ideal to try something here.

It is now or never.

A/N: After a chapter or two I could finally end the RWBY arc, and focus on what's happening in his world and after that, I could finally focus on another series.

Any recommendations? Personally, someone told me to try one piece, sure but after that what's next?

What about a small interlude of Wakaba Hiiro, not D, but the one you know as Shiro, the protagonist of the story [ So I'm a Spider, So What? ]

Or maybe follow Yamano Mitsuha from another world and sell things with her in her shop?

A lot of possibilities but only one at a time xD.
