23 Chapter 23

AN: Got sick. Had to take some rest days. But I'm back. All is good now.

I also made some aux chapters. Just in case you didn't notice.

In the past, and by past I mean just two days ago, I undeniably said some pretty shitty things about my Sigil.

Well, I take it back now.

I mean, I admit that I am guilty of saying it. But come on, I said what I said, but that's surely, mostly, for some reasons that are pretty understandable by general opinion... I think.

But if I knew from the start that my Sigil also has one extra quirk in it that is actually super cool and interesting, then I am pretty sure that I would not have... Actually, fuck that, I would probably complain still, but at the very least, not as much as I did.

Now to make the long explanation much shorter, my Sigil, who I thought was pretty meh, turns out to be actually super good since I found that it has a hidden ability. And that ability is, based on how I understand it so far, being able to replicate the ability of my defeated enemies in a form of a new spell.

It only happened once though so take it with a grain of salt cause I am not really sure about this information. I mean, it can also be nothing but the Spell Book gaining new spells whenever I defeated an enemy and it just so happens that the teleportation spell was coincidentally, the next spell reward. Not sure.

But currently, I heavily lean on the idea or want to believe that my Spell book can actually replicate spells to some degree... and I so much hope that it truly is the case cause, just imagine what I could achieve with it in the near future.

That if I can truly copy an ability of my fallen opponents, then the scaling potential of my Spell book, which I originally thought was dirt sh*t, would be so high up that it could probably rival the Sigil of the MC of this world.

Probably even higher actually.

In any case, I am so glad that my sigil turned out to be better than what I originally thought it is. That it is so much more than a 3 pages Spell pamphlet.

Well, obviously, in its current state, it still falls flat compared to the real super powerhouses out there, but just the thought that given enough time, I can probably stand toe to toe against those kinds of people is really giving me some good feeling. And also hope, of course.

Hope that I would die less starting at this current point of my life cause goddamn, being killed is really not the feeling that I would like to feel on constant bases.

In any case, at the end of the day, all of these are nothing but speculations. They are pretty damn close to the actual thing I'm sure but I really don't know the actual fact yet.

So in these kinds of situations where you don't know shit, the best thing to do is obviously... That's right, to find out the truth of course. And thank god that I have a pretty easy way to do that.

I mean, just do more battles, isn't it?

And that I did cause literally the next day after my first battle, after spending some time and points to change both my avatar and name in the game, cause it turns out that I can do that already, I decided to go outside.

Wearing my ass-kicking drip, I decided to finally start playing the game. Well, the training arc is already over and the first blood was already spilled, so it's about damn time that I do that.

But I made sure that this time, I will play differently.

I mean, being in the prey position and getting hunted all this time is really not enjoyable. I can only take so much before I get really fed up with it. In the first place, I don't have that kind of hobby.

But even if I want to turn the tables, I just don't have the ability to do that.

But alas, this time, I can finally play the role of the other side.

And show everyone how much of a menace I am.

Cause even if they don't want to, they will hear me coming for sure.

Cause that's how I hunt.

With an actual, BOOM.

To explain how the game ranking system works.

A player's rank is decided based on how many points you currently have.

The more points you have, the higher your rank is.

Looking at the chart that was provided by the game to me, it seems that, I was already classified as a B4 rank Player.

A pretty big leap considering that just a day ago, I was nothing but a D4 rank newb with no points to spare. Now even after I bought a box of grenades from the shop, which is an item considered by many as "expensive", I still have a lot of leftover points.

Now going onto another topic that is much more interesting, the Class Match Challenge. One of the ways in order to have a battle with someone.

At the very bottom of the app of every Player out there, there will be a given list. Now in that list, was a bunch of randomly selected Players. Now what you can do in that said list is, you will be able to select one in the myriad of selections. After making your choice, you will then be put into battle with your chosen Player.

Obviously though, to make it fair, all the Players within the list, even though they are all randomly selected for you, are within your ranks.

Meaning, in my case, all the current listed Players in my list are B-rank Players. From the lowest of B4 to the peaks of B1, all types of B are included.

Also, on a side note, Players who have an item called [ Shelter ], cannot be challenged to battle for a certain given time. Anyone can still see them on the list, but they cannot be selected. And there's also the fact that declining someone's challenge has a penalty.

The graveness of the penalty depends on rank. The same reason why Players rarely avoid battle, especially the high-ranking ones and those that are already on the deep end. Cause sometimes, it can get so worse that losing became a much better option than taking the penalty itself.

Now, regarding the massive question as to how my first fight was literally a B rank Player even though all new Players start at D rank... well, I found out that for psychopaths such as my first opponent, there's a certain item in the shop that allows them to do that.

It's an item that is not very popular since it literally gives the Players who use it little to no advantage. I mean, what would you even gain from fighting Players who barely have any points... unless you are into that kind of thing, which is definitely the case.

Anyways, that's pretty much all of it.

This basically summarized everything I need to know about Darwin's game... all according to the manual that is.

There's actually more to the app that every user needs to know cause the usage of points in this game is pretty massive when it comes to variety.

When they said in the opening quote that in this game, Points are everything, they are not kidding about it. If you have points, you can literally do almost all the stuff you wanted to do.

But overall, that's about it. For me who's been in this game for only a couple of days and yet to even play the game properly, I don't think I need to worry about such things yet.

So, enough about the boring stuff, and let's get back to action, shall we?

Now without further ado...

Let the hunt begins.
