3 Apology Time

I got halfway through writing the third chapter and then BAM! Burnout. I don't know why, or how it happened, because I was so pumped to write this book. But then I realised a bunch of problems.

The biggest one being the starting verse and the OP-ness of the protagonist. He literally won't be challenged. Ever. Which means next to no adversity which makes character development extremely hard if not impossible to do. Some authors can write stories about OP characters and make them great but I realised that isn't the kind of author I am and I neither have the experience nor the talent to do so.

Forcing myself to write the chapters would be a disservice to both you, the reader, and to me, the author. The quality would drop massively and the chapters would no doubt get shorter and shorter just so I could pump them out.

So, as much as it hurts me to say, I'm putting this novel on hiatus. I'm a first-time writer and feel like I need a bit more experience in writing before I tackle a book like this one.

Which means, yes, I might go on to write another story or I might go and have a rest while thinking about how to improve my writing. Either way, that means that like the title of this chapter suggest, I'm putting this story on an indefinite hiatus. Some of you will hate me for it but I hope most of you understand why I did it.

Sorry to those who really wanted to read this book but let me pose you a question: Do you want to read a story that's the best it can be or do you want to read a story that's only half of it's full potential? I know which one I'd rather read.

Once again, I'm sorry but this is most likely the best course of action for me, the story and everything else.
