My First Fight Against a Demon

The first thing I noted was that I did not want this to be a battle of attrition. Usually, as a Wind Dragon Slayer that would be my goal as I had basically infinite stamina.

But the poison in the air prevented me from getting my endless regeneration of stamina and health. Plus I only had 1 more antidote potion left so if I stayed here too long then I might die from the poison.

It was so annoying that the poison was undetectable if not I could've used my wind manipulation to send it away but now I didn't know what to aim for.

Luckily the massive Demon was looking at itself admiring its own beauty completely ignoring me. Taking this chance I began to prepare one of my hardest-hitting magics.

I once again went to my muscle form, wreathed myself in Armament Haki, and pumped adrenaline through my system.

I gather the wind around my legs and yelled, "Wind Dragon's Moutain-Splitting Hwechook."

My kick hit the unfocused demon with the power of 10 artillery shells shattering its knee and sending its left leg flying into the air.

It collapsed to the ground letting me have a free hit directly into its face. Taking advantage of the opportunity I yelled, "Wind Dragon's Kick!"

That wind dragon ravaged the face of the demon destroying one of the gems in this head that seemed to act as one of its eyes.

It swiped its hand at me and a blade of shadow as big as the one the darkness magic woman sent at me appeared. Luckily it was not the most well-aimed.

It was off-center allowing me to roll to the left of the attack, causing it to only clip me in the side. I wanted to continue my assault but the demon sunk into the shadows.

I saw it emerge 100 meters away still on its knees with my own eye. But my Observation Haki said that it had appeared 200 meters away in the opposite direction.

Knowing that it had Illusion Magic I trusted my Observation Haki and attacked the one 200-meters away yelling, "Wind Dragon's Rokuogan!"

I managed to blast a hole straight through its torso and it yelled seemingly confused as to how I could still see it. It launched 4 spikes of shadows at me.

Once again its missing eye caused it to slightly miss allowing me to dodge all of the attacks except for a deep slice across my left bicep weakening that arm.

It once again disappeared into the shadows but unlike last time it immediately appeared behind me and sent blades of shadows against me many of them being illusory.

I ducked under the real blades and walked through the illusory ones to roll underneath the Demon. It seemed to finally notice that I was not fooled by its illusory magic.

Just as I was about to kick its last remaining leg off, a flashbang seemed to hit me as all of my senses were overloaded with so much information so quickly that I froze.

It was only for a microsecond but it was enough so that the demon managed to send an unrefined bolt of shadows that hit me blasting me away from him.

All my ribs just broke under the bolt. Luckily it didn't have enough time to make anything more dangerous or I would be dead. The poison was also seeping in blurring my vision and weakening me.

I drank another healing potion and my final antidote potion, only 2 healing potions were left now. I tried to close the distance once more and the demon tried the flashbang tactic once more.

But I was prepared, focusing only on my Observation Haki. I managed to dodge the spear of shadows sent my way. I then stumbled as suddenly my sense of balance turned wack.

The demon had manipulated my sense of balance causing me to stumble, this time it capitalized on my disorientation and speared me through both my legs with bolts of shadows.

With my legs unresponsive I used my arms to launch me into the air where I used Geppo with my arms just dodging the following up attacks.

But it kept pressing its advantage not allowing me a single moment to drink my healing potions. To stop its continuous attack, I yelled, "Wind Dragon's Obfuscating Veil!"

A massive gust of winds shot out of my mouth but it was much more dispersed than the standard roar attack at the cost of power, blocking the demon's line of sight to me.

The winds and dust thrown up into the air seemed to stop the demon from attacking and at that moment I drank my second to last healing potion, allowing my legs to function once more.

I looked down at the demon and realized that it could not seem to affect me with illusion magic now. I was around 500 meters away and now it couldn't seem to mess with my senses.

So I brought out my laser rifle and quickly shot the demon as quickly as possible. I emptied the entire clip for the day and managed to hit it 4 times.

My aim was still a bit off from losing my eye and the poison. This was also far enough that I didn't have my Observation Haki to help correct my aim.

Still, the damage done was incredible it lost its left arm and the massive hole I made in its torso had expanded greatly.

It wailed as it once again moved into the shadows I looked around but didn't see it appearing, I then noticed in the distance a massive shadow was moving down the road.

It was the demon, it was running away. I tried attacking at a distance with Rankyaku and Wind Dragon's Kicks but it wasn't working I need to do more damage.

I quickly closed the distance to hit it hard with a "Renewal Taekwondo Wind Dragon's Axe Kick!"

I hit the shadow fracturing all the Earth around it and booting out of its hiding spot. I looked at the demon and in desperation, it unleashed all its power at once.

A whirling dance of blades, spears, and bolts of shadows were all unleashed while I suddenly felt that up was down, left was right, and that I was being cut from a thousand different directions.

The shock was immense and I drew out the O Wazamono weapon once more using it to deflect and block the attacks I couldn't dodge.

And my senses were so fucked up that I didn't even use them at all. The pain was the fuel that drove me to keep going and take revenge on this fucking demon.

I had to make sacrifices where I would block massive attacks of shadow with my arms and legs to protect my head and torso.

In the end, I managed to get out of it with my limbs broken and sliced up. My torso was also pretty damaged but my head was safe.

I looked at the demon but it had exhausted all of its power, turning into motes of light and becoming a mirror once more.

I thought of using my final healing potion but decided against it. It was way too valuable to waste now that the fight was over.

I stored away the O Wazamono and sat down concentrating, using Seimei Kikan to constrict my blood vessels to stop my blood loss.

And now that I was far enough from the castle the poison was probably not in the air, so I ate the wind around me beginning to heal stamina and vitality.

Despite my wounds, due to that snack, I felt pretty good. I grabbed the mirror and walked back to the nearest Rune Knight base I remember on the map.

I was pretty badly wounded so was a lot slower than I normally was. But I managed to get to a nearby Rune Knight base and collapsed.

I hoped that the wounds I had now would convince the leaders to not send me on such a dangerous mission again. Killing an entire guild by myself and a demon was still out of my range.

I slept as the healers there started to bandage me up and fuss over me. At least I survived and triumphed over my first experience with demons.
