June 2- Saturday

As Kei woke up he got up from his bed and looked at what the group was talking about.

Gintoki: "No, Sweets are way better than explosions."

Megumin: "Wahahaha, you ignorant mortal. Explosions are the highest form of art. How can anything be better than that?"

Gintoki: "Can you eat explosions? Do they taste sweet? I don't think so."

Megumin: "Then explain to me how they are sweets are better."

Gintoki: "Okay let me break it down in a way our readers at home can understand. First…"

Kei stopped reading after that since he knows the reader doesn't care about their conversation and wanted to move on.

Kei gets out of bed, dressed up, and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. After he does that he goes to the kitchen and makes breakfast.

Since he lives with someone he is great at cooking and always strives to improve himself. Cooking is a hobby for him and he enjoys it as much as he enjoys relaxing in his room when he has no work. Kei always wanted to see how good his cooking was since his family always told him he makes the best food they ever ate. However, that is more curiosity than a need for him so he doesn't care too much.

Kei decided to go around and shop for groceries today so he needs to finish breakfast. There is no real rush but he prefers to get shopping done early rather than later just in case.

Kei finishes up breakfast, washes his dishes, and gets ready to leave. He knows Anna is still sleeping so he made her portion and left it on the table. He also made lunch for her to bring to the orphanage.

He is about to leave his apartment when his phone rings. He looked at it and it was a message from his editor about meeting tomorrow morning to discuss his manuscript. He messages back and leaves his apartment.

He is on the 8th floor of the 10-story apartment building. He goes outside of the building and towards the shopping district.

As he is walking toward the shopping district he sees a girl that is barely noticeable with short brown hair and brown eyes. She can be described as a pretty girl but is not noticed by the crowd of people passing by her.

Kei walks up to her and greets her.

"Hey, Megumi!" Kei greets her as she turns around to see the owner of the voice.

"Hello Kei." she says in a monotonous voice.

"Are you here to shop for food as well?" Asked Kei with an upbeat voice. To which Megumi just nods to confirm his words.

"Want to go together?" Asks Kei while smiling. Megumi nods and they walk together to the store.

Along the way, Kei talks to Megumi a lot and tells her some jokes every now and again to make her smile.

Kei has known Megumi since he was in middle school. When he first moved to middle school he was welcomed by a lot of his classmates but there was one girl that didn't talk to him, or rather nobody talked to her. At first, he thought it was bullying but after talking with some of the students they didn't seem to realize she even existed.

Kei was baffled by this and decided to be the first to talk to her. When he first introduced himself the girl's expression was that of shock since she was always invisible to everyone until Kei started talking to her. She introduced herself as Megumi Kato and they started to get along throughout middle school. Megumi is one of the few friends he had throughout middle school.

Of course, he knew her character since she came from a light novel however to see her presence be ignored by everyone was surreal. He wondered how lonely life like that must be and couldn't imagine it.

"Hey Megumi, did your parents forget you in the house again?" Kei asks while looking at the vegetables. Megumi just nods with the same emotionless face as before.

"Hey, do you want to eat at my place today?" Kei asks since, whenever he learns that she was forgotten by her parents, he always invites her to his house to eat or to make sure she is not by herself.

"Ok." Megumi responds monotonously with a bit of happiness in her voice. She has to admit she gets lonely by herself in the house. As she was growing up she has gotten used to the lonely feeling and didn't mind it that much. However, when Kei first brought her to his house she would be lying if she said she didn't feel happy about it. It was the first time she had ever gone to a friend's house.

"Will Anna be there?" Megumi asks.

"Yup, she will be after she is done with her charity work at the orphanage" Kei says.
