Chapter 5: Sleeping Beauty Awake and Hungry

The chauffeur opened the door to the house. Chu Ying entered and carried Xiao Xing upstairs. She had already fallen asleep. Although Chu Ying drank alcohol whenever he was stressed out, he hated the smell of it. As he got to her bedroom, he kicked the door open and went inside.

He carefully placed her on the bed and sat next to her. He gently stroked her hair. "I should not have let you go into that place. Look at what state you're in right now", he spoke to her. A few seconds later, one of the house maids entered the room. It was Lin Li.

"Master, how did Madam get drunk like this? And...", she said as her nose caught the strong stench of alcohol in the room. "How did her clothes become all messed up?", she asked, concerned. Xiao Xing opened her eyes wide and looked at the man placing her from the bed and smiled. "Oh, Sang Ji, you're here. Did- Did you bring me home? I knew you still loved me", she said as she pulled the man to her chest and hugged him. Chu Ying could feel Xiao Xing's breasts rubbing against his own chest. His eyes instantly widened at the realization. What the hell is wrong with this girl? Can she not tell me and his loser husband apart? And... why is she turning me on so early in the morning? he asked as he felt his pulse racing and his face sweating. His insides turned and his manhood stood tall and proud.  Fuck.  Just as she blinked, her eyes closed and suddenly, she was snoring. He then carefully got her hands off his neck and placed them on her stomach.

Chu Ying stood from the bed and fixed his suit. "Help the Madam get changed and make her some hangover soup. Coffee is not of the option at the moment. It's still early in the morning. Giving her a cup of coffee now might not help her sleep." Lin Li bowed. "Yes, Master." Chu Ying exited the room.

A few hours later, Xiao Xing woke up with a splitting headache. She saw that she was in her pyjamas. How did she change into her pyjamas? What happened the night before? Who sent her home? Was it that cruel man? Did he do anything to her? 

She walked downstairs to look for Chu Ying when she heard voices in the study. She did not want to intrude, so she went back to her room to take a bath. After a short while, Xiao Xing walked downstairs again, all freshened up for the day. This time, Chu Ying was sitting at the dining table, eating his breakfast. His phone was next to him. She walked towards the table and stood not very far from him. 

The young man slightly raised his head. "Did... you change my clothes?", she asked, her voice shaking. Chu Ying looked at her.  Why did she dress up like this? Why is she tempting me so early in the morning? Sweat built up on his face and he quickly looked down to the table. He then picked up his phone from the table and gave his attention to it, scrolling on his WeChat, wanting to see any missed messages and calls from work. "If I was the one who changed your clothes, I would be taking an interest in you. Think you are beautiful and sexy. '"You're just an asset of mine. I'm keeping you for a specific purpose." 

"What kind of purpose?", she asked once more. The man looked up at her again and gave her a stare of disdain. "If you ask me one more time, I'll rip off your tongue." Xiao Xing got goosebumps. Just as she was about to ask yet another question, a knock on the door got perceived. The door opened and in came Chu Ying's secretary, Liam. 

"Mr. Chu, I've..." he said before realising he may have disturbed a conversation between the two of them. "I'm sorry, am I intruding?", he asked. Accidentally, his eyes came across Xiao Xing who wore tight leggings and a cropped top. He gulped. Unknowingly, his nose started to bleed. Chu Ying kept looking at his secretary the whole time, and as he saw him bleed on the nose, he dismissed her. "You can go now. Me and Liam are going to have a meeting."

"But-", she said as her stomach growled. "Leave!", he commanded. Hearing his loud voice, Xiao Xing quickly rushed to her bedroom with her growling stomach. Liam's eyes followed her till she disappeared. "Liam.", Chu Ying called out to his secretary.  Liam woke up from dreamland and felt something drizzling from his nose. 

Damn it! Why did I drool at the boss lady again? And in front of my boss? Oh, Liam, you are in big trouble now.  He instantly covered his noise with his hand and raised his head to look at his boss. "Mr. Chu, may I please head over to the bathroom? I'll be back in a minute." 

Xiao Xing entered her room and slammed the door behind herself. She then went to sit down on the bed. Her stomach couldn't stop growling. She felt quite embarrassed, even though she was the only one in the room. "Couldn't he let me eat at least? Doesn't he know that I'm starving? Why else would I go to the dining table in the morning if I wasn't hungry? Such an asshole!" She took her phone from the counter next to the bed and scrolled through pictures which had both her and Sang Ji on them. She really missed him but did not know how to help him. Th only way she kept thinking of at that moment was going back to her uncle and ask for what belonged to her. For Sang Ji, it's all worth it. 

Inside Chu Ying's study

Chu Ying and his secretary had been working for a while now. Liam had something to ask his boss as he kept looking at him and the documents he was busy reading. Chu Ying felt the atmosphere in the room was awkward than usual, that his secretary was awfully quiet. "Is there something you wish to say, Liam?", he suddenly asked. "Huh?", answered Liam. "No, Mr. Chu. There is nothing I want to say or ask." The quietness went on for a while longer. Liam could not bear the silence any more, so he closed the document and placed it on top of the desk. 

"Mr. Chu, why don't you tell the Madam you and her are already married? I honestly do not get where the harm in that will be." Chu Ying raised his head to look at the confused Liam. He then closed his document and placed it on the desk as well. He then took off his reading glasses and folded his arms. "How can I tell her we're married when she still loves someone else? Besides, she is my asset, as far as she knows." 

"Well, maybe she'll understand and decide to be with you. What is your purpose with her, exactly?"

"She's weak and hurt by two men in her life. I want to mould her to be strong, brutal and a little heartless. She needs to realise that the world favours men the most. And us men, we take advantage of most of the things around us." 

Just then, both men heard the main door close shut. A few seconds after, Lin Li came inside the study, panicked. "Oh, it's you, Lin Li. What is the matter?", Liam asked as he saw Lin Li's panicked state. Lin Li bowed. "Master, the Madam just went out. She said she did not want to be followed."
