Lightning continues to snooze away, oblivious to the unexpected guest currently standing outside my door. I make sure I'm presentable; hair smoothed down and pyjamas rearranged. My weird sleeping positions tend to make me look as rough as possible. No Sleeping Beauty here.

The door creaks open, Sophia's lithe frame bathed in the light from the dainty lamp on the bedside table. My perfect eyesight however, thanks to my lycan abilities, spots her wide smile. She's dressed down, wearing a white vest and tartan shorts and I can tell she's bouncing up and down in excitement.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" Sophia whispers, closing the door carefully behind her. "Dante and Mama are in their rooms, so I won't be told off for bothering you."
