You are not leaving me here

"That's why I suggested that one of you should mate with Lora, and I'll find a good woman similar to Lora for the other person," Mom said with a smile, holding a shy Lora in her arms. However, I knew that Lora was pretending to be shy, which seemed dishonest to me. I couldn't understand how Lora managed to be on my mom's good side.

Lora and us used to play together when we were kids because she is the Beta's daughter and Nick our beta's sister. As we grew up, she became annoying, desperately wanting to be our mate. But on her eighteenth birthday, we discovered that she wasn't our mate. However, she still wanted to be our chosen mate, which would never happen.

"Mom, you don't have to say that. I'm not that good," Lora replied shyly.

'At least she's aware of that.' Audrey mumbled under her breath, but we both caught it. I had to exert self-control to keep from laughing out loud.

"No, you are good , and I will make you my daughter-in-law if this time these morons don't come home with their mates," Mom assured her. I snorted and stood up, urging Ryder to leave with me. He got up from his chair and tousled Audrey's hair.

"We're going, cutie. Go home early and don't drive your mom crazy," he said, flashing a smile at her. Audrey rolled her eyes and replied, "At least you're not going to mate with my aunt, so I won't say anything."

"Audrey!" Lora yelled, but stopped when everyone's eyes were on her.

"I mean Audrey, how could you say that. I'm your own aunt," she said, wiping away the tears that fell from her brown eyes.

"Don't take it seriously, she's just a kid," Mom said, holding her face and giving her a hug.

"Okay, Auntie," Lora replied.

"You should go. Her drama doesn't end here," Audrey chimed in, and we nodded before leaving.

"Did you bring everything I asked you to bring?" I asked our Beta, Nick.

"Yes, Alpha. I brought everything," he replied.

"Good. Where's Ryder?"

"He's flirting with the female wolves that came to find their mates at the Mating Party."

"Go and bring him, but make sure to bring him back by holding his ear," I ordered Nick.

"But, Alpha, I... Okay," he wanted to protest, but he stopped when I gave him a deathly glare. Nick and us have been friends since childhood, but he's afraid of us when it comes to finding our mates, fearing that we might harm him one day.

Before long, a screaming Ryder was dragged into the car.

"Nick, you're going to tear my ear. Stop pinching! Ouch, it hurts!" Ryder screamed, and I smiled with satisfaction. After his ear was released, he glared dangerously at Nick, who just shrugged and started the car.

"I know you're the devil behind all this," he said, pointing to his now reddened ear.

"Why ask when you already know?" I rolled my eyes at him.

"But this really hurts."

"It'll hurt even more if I tell your mate that you were flirting with other she wolfs," I deadpanned, and he angrily looked forward, not saying anything else. I don't understand why he always wants to stay and see if he can find his mate in our pack. Both my wolf and I can sense that our mate isn't here right now, so we need to search for her instead. Ryder also told me the same thing a year after we turned eighteen.

"Alpha, someone is being harassed," Beta Nick informed us.

We had been driving for almost seven hours, so I don't think this person is from our pack. I got out of the car, and Ryder and Nick followed suit. On the side of the road, a young boy, around 12 or 13 years old, was holding a young girl by the neck.

"Why are you doing this? I'm your little sister," the young girl sobbed, struggling to breathe.

"I'm not your brother, you're just adopted bitch, and I won't allow you to live with us anymore. I'll kill you and tell my parents that a rogue killed you," the boy said, tightening his grip on the girl's neck. I grabbed both of his hands with one hand and helped the girl breathe.

"Are you okay?" I asked the girl when she started breathing normally, but she was still sobbing. I don't know why, but I felt a strong urge to protect her.

I turned to the horrified boy. "Where's your pack?" I asked.

"I... I'm from Lunarbane Pack," he stammered.

"What?!" Nick exclaimed, realizing the seriousness of the situation. It would take us another four hours to reach their pack, so it meant that the thirteen-year-old boy had taken his little sister quite a distance away from Lunarbane Pack.

"Do you know that I could kill you just like you wanted to kill your sister?" I told him, controlling my anger from ripping his head off.

"She's not my sister. My parents even told me they want to get rid of her, but they can't for now. So, I was solving my parents' problem. And if you kill me, the Alpha will kill you too," he replied, trying to assert his authority.

"Oh, is that so?" I replied, feigning confusion.

"Yes, the Alpha comes to our home to give my parents money, so leave here before I become angry," the kid said with false authority.

I turned to the girl, who was looking at me tearfully, and crouched down to her height. "Do you want to go with big brother?" I asked her, and she nodded her head eagerly.

"Well, we'll make the job easier for you by sending her away from here," I told the kid, impatience in my voice.

"Is that so?" He exclaimed excitedly, and I snorted before holding the little girl's hand and walking her to our car. "We are going to the Lunarbane Pack," I shouted out to the boy behind us.

"But you said you would send her away. Why are you sending her to my pack?" He shouted back, this time with unwillingness. I turned and took a glanced at him. "We won't let anyone see her in your Pack until we return, so don't worry, little brain."

Ryder and Nick came to sit, and I helped the little girl into the car. Ryder had been much quieter to me since we stepped out of the car. I knew he would have given that kid a slap or something to remember when he does something wrong.

"She's cute, right?" Ryder mind-linked me. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic behavior earlier. So, the girl's cuteness had left him dumbfounded.

"Big brother, are you going without me?" the little boy called out to us.

Ryder rolled down the rearview mirror and replied to him, "Since you could come here alone with your sister, I think you can also have the same courage to walk back too."

"No, you're not leaving me here."

"Yeah, we are. Come on, start the car," Ryder ordered Nick.

"Yes, Alpha," Nick responded, and we sped off, leaving the boy shouting at us to stop, but we didn't.
