2 I want to steal your heart

Grabbing the sandwich "Don't worry, I will eat it before I reach the hospital " the girl said in haste. "Make sure you do so" said her aunt in a worried voice, watching the rushing figure till it became a silhouette.

She had taken a cab to reach the hospital and was late enough to get a glare from the head nurse. On reaching the main gate of the psychiatric hospital "Stop" said the security, "Your ID?".

Taking a deep breath "It almost has been a year of me working here . Don't you know me?" she politely said.

"I have known you enough to guess that you forgot to bring your ID card" the security deadpanned.

"It is not like that..." she said while searching for her ID in the bag. Realizing that she actually forgot, it was time for her to confess and pay the fine. She was about to open her mouth but just at that moment "What is going on?" a voice enquired.

It was Jaden Matthew, he was one of the three trustees of the hospital also not to forget he had the biggest share out of the three. On hearing his voice the security bowed his head and replied, "Miss Evans most probably forgot to bring her ID".

Jaden maintaining a straight face, looked at the security said, "It is okay. Let her in today".

The security hurriedly opened the gate and made way for them.

Jaden walked along her side while she looked down . To break the ice he asked her "Did you lose your ID or you forgot to bring it?".

"Umm.. I forgot it most probably. I never take it out of the bag from the time when it became compulsory for us to bring IDs and the ones who forgot had to pay the fine as the hospital's authority consider it to be violation of rules". 'Was that too much information?' she asked herself. She was really self-conscious .

Jaden pulled out a card out of his pocket and offering it to her he said "It is written Rose Evans. It must be yours".

Yes it was her ID but how did he got hold of it. With a doubt on her face she asked him "How did you get my ID. I mean it is not like yesterday I dropped it somewhere in the hospital and you found it because you were not present here in the hospital yesterday."

He smiled at her and said "Yes, I was not present in the hospital but I was there at your place last evening. Your aunt said that you had gone out with one of your friends ".

Crossing arms across her chest with her ID on her right hand she asked "And?".

" And then your aunt went to the kitchen to get me a glass of water . While waiting for her to return I saw your ID peeking out of your bag. " he said "So, I just took it out of your bag and put that ID in my pocket".

Her lips parted in surprise and she wondered how simply he said that he opened her bag without her consent. Did he not have the basic ethics? What was wrong with him?

Before she could curse him in her head Jaden said, "Don't worry I didn't see or steal anything else" he smiled and continued " The only thing I want to steal is your heart".
