31 Chapter 31: Accusations

After the call, Avery entered the elevator and reached her door in less than a minute. The pile of garbage in front was still there, emitting an extremely pungent smell that attracted flies. 

Covering her nose, Avery pushed the garbage aside with her feet, taking almost three minutes to clear a narrow path to her door. 

She made sure to clean the doorknob before entering her apartment. Fortunately, the door had an anti-theft lock, and no one had entered while she was away.

Closing the door behind her, Avery placed her suitcase and bag on the ground, rushing towards the bathroom. The urge to vomit and wash away the dirt from her hands finally took control.

"Wuuughh!" 

The sound of her retching echoed in the room.

After a while, Avery emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in a bathrobe with wet hair. However, she was in no hurry to change.
