1 Blatant Disloyalty

"Please don't go, Wenping," Yun Wei pleaded like a child, stretching out her hand to tug at Bai Wenping's shirt.

Although she was almost eighteen, Yun Wei's IQ was no different from that of a three or four-year-old child's.

"Just leave her be. She's just a halfwit idiot," Hua Shasha said, tightly hooking her arm around Bai Wenping's and leaning her body against his.

Bai Wenping seized the chance to hold her hand.

Hanging onto Bai Wenping, Hua Shasha said firmly, "Let's go. Don't bother with this idiot. I bought some new clothes. Want to see them?"

"Yes, yes, yes," Bai Wenping said lustily, mesmerized by her.

In a traffic accident three months ago, Yun Wei suffered a head injury. When she woke up, it was like she had completely lost her intelligence. She wasn't even conscious of the shenanigans going on between her boyfriend Bai Wenping and her bestie Hua Shasha.

As Hua Shasha dragged Bai Wenping away, Yun Wei tugged at her, saying, "Wenping, please don't go. I'm too scared to be on my own…."

Looking impatient, Hua Shasha demanded, "Yun Wei, let go of my arm!"

"I don't want to, no," Yun Wei pouted.

Hua Shasha gave Yun Wei a hard slap across the back of her head. "Enough already. Let go!" she said.

Reeling from the hard knock, Yun Wei fell face first onto the table, completely still.

Bai Wenping, who was being pulled away by Hua Shasha, looked worried when he noticed that Yun Wei was motionless. "Don't tell me you killed her with that slap. This rich little girl can't die. She's in for a big inheritance."

"She wouldn't die so easily as that," Hua Shasha retorted as she changed into a dress and sashayed in front of Bai Wenping, asking, "Well? Is it pretty?"

Bai Wenping was practically drooling. What did it matter if Yun Wei lived or died?

He walked out of Yun Wei's room and pushed Hua Shasha onto the sofa in the living room, and inappropriate noises soon followed.

Yun Wei felt an excruciating pain in her head. She raised her head and, after a very long time, finally realized that she was in her own bedroom.

The pain in her head was unbearable.

What happened?

Yun Wei massaged her temples as fragmented memories started to come together in her mind.

Three months ago, she was hit by a car and had injured her head. At the hospital, the doctor advised her that a blood clot had formed and was pressing against the cranial nerves, making an operation temporarily impossible.

In the days that followed, her mind gradually deteriorated, and she lived like a half-witted idiot for the following three months.

It was all very weird. She had lived like a halfwit for three months with no understanding of what was actually going on around her. But now, everything was vividly coming back to her.

Especially every detail about Bai Wenping and Hua Shasha's affair.

As it turned out, they had hooked up with each other and became lovers way before her accident. But after her head injury, they had shed all pretenses and inhibitions and had sometimes even gotten intimate in her presence.

The only reason why Bai Wenping had dated Yun Wei was because of her vast family wealth.

Yun Wei felt a stab of pain in her heart at the thought of it.

At that very moment, she could hear Bai Wenping and Hua Shasha in the living room. No further explanation was needed as to what they were doing in there.

Similar instances vividly came to mind.

"Ha," she thought. Yun Wei really wanted to thank Hua Shasha for the hard slap that the latter had given her across the head because it had jolted her back from the land of the halfwits. That slap had woken her up!

Otherwise, Yun Wei would've continued living like a halfwit and being hoodwinked by that trashy couple.

Yun Wei bit hard on her bottom lip, resolving to make this trashy couple pay for bullying and insulting her!
