9 The Truth Back Then

Feeling the passion in Qin Wei's eyes, Mu Ran awkwardly tucked her hair behind her ear.

She did not feel it when she was with Wang Man, but when she was with Qin Wei, she felt that it was a little subtle, especially when she could not help but avoid Qin Wei's gaze.

"Why don't you pull over, I want to walk around alone."

"But I want to take you to a place. I think you would want to go there and meet someone you want to meet," Qin Wei looked at Mu Ran gently and insisted.

Mu Wa blinked and was confused. She could only let Qin Wei drive her as she watch as the car drove to the suburbs and stopped in front of a chinese-style loft. There was a bamboo forest in front of the attic. There were a few acres of land beside the bamboo forest which looked quite idyllic.

She didn't expect there to be such a peaceful paradise in the bustling Haigang City.

Qin Wei led the way and brought Mu Ran into the attic, to the small balcony on the second floor.

There was a rattan chair on the small balcony. An old man in his seventies with long white hair sat on it and basked in the sun leisurely. When he saw Mu Ran, he smiled and waved at her. "You're here, Mu Ran? Come over quickly."

Mu Ran stood rooted to the ground, and when she came to her senses, tears welled in her eyes.

She did not care about anything else as she threw herself in front of the old man and half-knelt on his knees. She choked as she cried out, "Grandpa, where have you been? I thought I would never see you again!"

Six years ago, her father's company suddenly had high debt. All the evidence pointed to her father's bad management so the shareholders came to her father aggressively and demanded an explanation.

Her father had been proud for most of his life so he had never expected to see his business empire collapse. He also did not expect his wife to run away with the rest of the money which resulted in him committing suicide and this has become a painful memory in Mu Ran's life that she did not dare to think about.

As for her grandfather, he was said to have fallen ill and was admitted to a sanatorium.

At that time, Mu Ran had just turned 20 years old so there was no way she could bear the change. When she finally recovered from the terrible pain, she realized that the sanatorium had already been relocated and her grandfather had disappeared.

That was why she was so excited and could not control herself when she saw him again.

"It has been tough on you, Mu Ran." Mu Jing patted Mu Ran's head. "It's been hard on you all these years. Thank god life is fair, I've been hiding here to secretly investigate the truth back then and I've finally found some clues."

Mu Ran raised her head and looked at his grandfather in confusion.

I will support you no matter which you choose."

Mu Jing hoped that Mu Ran could take revenge for her father, but he didn't want her to put herself in danger because of this.

Thus, he left the choice to her.

Mu Ran pursed her lips and quickly got an answer. "Grandpa, don't worry. I will definitely clear my father's name."

Mu Jing smiled, he really understood Mu Ran. Based on her character, she would definitely not sit idly by.

Moreover, even if he didn't expose the matter in front of Mu Ran today, she would still follow the clues and find out the truth of that year.

Instead of waiting until then, it would be better for him to help her now.

Mu Ran bowed to him. "I will think of a way to solve this. But I want to thank you for helping me settle my grandfather, it has always been a wish of mine."
