Held Them Responsible
"Do you like it? I tried to pick a good apartment for you but I know you hate crowded place; so I changed my mind and picked this house." Marcus Lim took a glimpse at the luxurious single floor house he personally choose for Hazel.
Though it was a single floor house, it was spacious enough. Besides it was located in one of the best locality in Gangnam. The house was guarded by atleast 20 men all the time. Marcus Lim personally choose his best men to protect his sister.
"Yeah. But didn't you think this is too big for a single person? I have a feeling that my time here will be a very boring one." Hazel blurted out as her eyes examined the place. "Plus, all those men. Aren't they your gang members? They look familiar."
"They are my best men. They will protect you and take good care of you. Don't wander around all alone. You should let them protect you. Okay?" Marcus said calmly with a reassuring voice. "If anything happens to you, I will held them responsible. I won't let them go without a punishment." His tone changed completely this time. He seemed so determined.
Hazel recalled the scene she witnessed in the past. While she was in London, she was almost kidnapped by some men. But Hazel had learned many self defense methods and tactics from her brother. So she managed to run away from the kidnappers car after much effort.
The incident angered Marcus Lim so much! A little wound in her body made him lose his cool! He punished all the men responsible for her safety according to his gang's law. Alas! Hazel witnessed this scene unintentionally without her brother knowing. She saw with her own eyes how dangerous and cruel her caring brother could be! He didn't flinched an eye even when his men were groaning with enormous pain! He tracked down the kidnappers and made sure that they pay for their sins.
But Hazel understand his brother's action. He was so afraid of losing her. He already lose his real sister whom he loved with all his heart. He can't afford to lose another one.
"Mark, I will be fine. The great Marcus Lim is my brother! Who would dare to touch me?" Hazel reassurred him with an appeasing smile. "Besides how long will you stick to me? You're almost 30. When will you ever date and get married? Will you marry Lucina like our father said before?" She teased him. Marcus was always upset whenever she mentioned this topic.
Marcus Lim didn't seemed to be pleased. He sighed and took a seat in one of the sofas. "There you go again. You know me well, Haze. Why would I marry her? She deceived me. She won't do that if she truly loves me." He remained motionless with his mind recalling one of the lowest times of his life.
"Why didn't you tell our dad what she did to you? If he knows the truth, I doubt that he will still support her." Hazel suggested. To be honest, she really wanted to teach this Lucina a lesson; but she hold back herself for her brother's sake.
Marcus shook his head continuously. "No. I can't let him know. You know dad's temper. What if he goes after their business? Though she wronged me, I didn't want to see her suffer in my father's hand."
Lucina Farrell was the daughter of the Farrell Corporation. She was the only woman Marcus Lim ever loved throughout his life. They dated for more than two years. Alas! This woman gave him all the pain a woman could ever give a man!
Frankly saying, she never loved him. It's true that she was attracted to his handsome features but it was only a short lived lust. She used him as a tool to bring profits to their family business. She even cheated him with some other guy!
But Marcus forgive her as he loved her so much. She begged him to forgive her swearing that it will never happen again. But as the saying goes 'Once a cheater, always a cheater,' she was caught in the act once again.
Marcus finally cut ties with her. It had been almost a year but he never forget her for even once! He still wished the best for her!
As he recalled his past, Marcus felt a great pain in his heart. It had almost been a year and he should be used to this familiar heartache. But never! He was so far from being used to it! He still felt as if he was stabbed right in the heart.
The house was quiet for a while and Hazel really finds it irritating. She didn't want this solemn aura, especially when she was with her brother! "Let's not talk about that. When did you plan to return? Dad will be waiting for you."
"After two days." Marcus replied instantly without any thought. He pause for a while and added, "I know that there will be many places you'd like to visit. I'll accompany you to those places. Tomorrow is weekend, so we can tour around the city."
"Fine. Let's have fun this weekend!" Hazel said with a satisfying smile. "I can't wait to spend the whole weekend with you!" exclaimed Hazel with a light yet teasing laughter.....
