39 Power cut in the Lei mansion

Lei Juncheng's face was full of confusion as he could not understand anything that Lei Junmo was saying.

"Don't think about all this," Lei Junmo said, "The main thing is Brother Junshan's engagement ceremony is tomorrow. And angels are our last hope. We can save Brother Junshan from that lady saint only if we pray to the angels together."

Lei Juncheng sighed.

Meanwhile, Lei Junshan was reading a book when he saw that the lights in Lei Juncheng's room were switched on. He felt that Lei Juncheng might still be upset with whatever had happened that day. Thus, to check on his younger brother, Lei Junshan proceeded towards Lei Juncheng's room.

When he reached the room, he saw Lei Juncheng scolding Lei Junmo.

"What's going on guys?" Lei Junshan asked Lei Junmo, "And what are you doing with a candle?"

Caught off guard and unwilling to reveal the true reason behind his late-night visit, Lei Junmo swiftly deflected the question. He pointed towards Lei Juncheng and quickly replied, "Brother Juncheng here wanted a candle for something. I was just helping him out."

Lei Junshan questioned Lei Juncheng, "Why do you need a candle?"

"Ummm…" Lei Juncheng found it difficult to come up with an excuse in front of his elder brother.

Behind Lei Junshan's back, Lei Junmo gave subtle signals to him, basically telling him, 'Keep quiet, or I'd be in deep trouble!'

Finally, Lei Juncheng found an excuse as he said, "Today is the last day of your singlehood and you will be officially committed from tomorrow onwards, so…"

"So, I and Brother Juncheng thought that we should pray for you and Huang Ling together," Lei Junmo completed the excuse made by Lei Juncheng. "So, let's begin?" He said to the confused Lei Junshan.

The room transformed into a makeshift sanctuary as the three brothers gathered, hands clasped together in a circle. The flickering candle took center stage, casting a soft glow on their faces as they closed their eyes and began to pray.

Lei Junmo said to his brothers, "Pray for my and Brother Juncheng's wish to be fulfilled."

Lei Juncheng sighed, "Angels, please listen to us and fulfill our wish."

Lei Junshan was puzzled, "What nonsense is this!"

"Brother, please," Lei Junmo insisted.

"Okay okay," Lei Junshan also got involved in Lei Junmo's nonsense, "Angels, just fulfill the wishes of these two."

"Now everyone, close your eyes for a moment," Lei Junmo said.

Lei Junshan and Lei Juncheng took a deep breath before closing their eyes.

After a while, Lei Junmo announced the completion of the prayer.

"We don't need to do anything else, right?" Lei Junshan asked.

"No, brother," Lei Junmo smiled, "But since we have been praying so much, I am hungry now."

"Really?" Lei Juncheng asked in disbelief. He felt tired of his brother's childishness but he still doted on him.

"Yes, let's eat noodles," Lei Junmo said excitedly.

"Okay, I'll cook," Lei Junshan said.

In the kitchen, the three brothers embarked on a culinary adventure, donning aprons and sharing playful banter. The sound of water boiling, noodles simmering, and the sizzle of ingredients filled the air, creating a symphony of culinary delight.

Lei Junshan orchestrated the noodle-making process with a flair, while Lei Junmo and Lei Juncheng added their own ingredients to the mix. Laughter echoed off the walls as they exchanged stories, jokes, and even a few family secrets, turning the kitchen into a haven of shared joy.

The fragrance of the cooking noodles wafted through the room, enticing taste buds and weaving a delicious anticipation in the air. As they sat around the table, the noodles steaming before them, the brothers savored the fruits of their labor. Slurps and satisfied sighs resonated in the kitchen, creating a soundtrack to the bond that grew stronger with each shared bite.

Grandma Lei, peering from a distance, observed the lively scene with a contented smile. She was relieved to see that the bond between her grandsons had not suffered because of their parents' arguments. She believed that her grandsons would not let the family divide.

As the Lei grandsons were immersed themselves in the joyful camaraderie of the kitchen, a strange middle-aged woman lurked near the gate of the Lei mansion. She attempted to bypass the security measures in place but she could not deflect the attention of the security guards. Frustrated by her inability to find an entry point, she resorted to a cunning move.

The woman, determined and stealthy, located the electrical board outside the mansion. With a swift and furtive motion, she cut off the electricity supply, plunging the estate into darkness. Seizing the opportune moment, she sneaked her way inside, navigating the shadows with calculated precision.

The sudden darkness enveloped the mansion as the electricity was cut off. Startled by the abrupt change, the Lei brothers emerged from the kitchen, their laughter replaced by a curious concern. The ambient glow of the kitchen, now dimmed, contrasted sharply with the shadows that loomed in the hallways.

The disruption didn't go unnoticed, as other members of the Lei family, drawn by the unusual occurrence, stepped out of their rooms. Questions lingered in the air as they gathered, wondering about the cause of the power outage.
