18 Chapter 18: Tasting Owns Medicine!

Luo Yuan was already sitting in his office. His gaze was fixed on the screen and his fingers typed rapidly. A knock on the door but it didn't break his concentration. Without glancing at the door he gave the permission.

"Come in! he replied in his usual serious tone without lifting his gaze away from his laptop.

The person came inside the office and closed the door after he stood in front of Luo Yuan. He closed the screen of the laptop then sat in front of Luo Yuan's desk and stared straight at him.

"Cheng Liang, can't you see I was working?"  Luo Yuan stated while putting both his arms on the table and leaning forward on his chair. Cheng Liang's gaze was still fixated on Luo Yuan's expressionless face. 

"What's wrong with you? Chang Liang asked while raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing," Luo Yuan answered and sat back in his seat moving his gaze to the window. 

"This is the file of the candidates I have shortlisted. You see it and think carefully about who we should collaborate with," Cheng Liang handed a piece of paper to Luo Yuan. Luo Yuan flipped it over carefully and skimmed it. 

"I think I told you about my decision regarding this matter,"  he said as he pushed the folder aside. 

Cheng Liang stood up and crossed his arms against his chest.

"Do you know Li Xia? Chang Liang asked as he leaned forward and placed his hands on the table.

 Luo Yuan's eyes opened a bit wide after hearing her name. All the events of meeting her flashed in his mind.  Her words, her actions, everything.

He was regretting the day when he met her. She was the most sticky, messy, and immature woman. Her endless reasoning with him was getting on his nerves. Even worse was the fact that he couldn't forget what she did to him yesterday. 

"I don't know her," he answered bluntly. Cheng Liang sighed heavily and massaged his temple.

"Your secretary said that you two seemed pretty close," Cheng Liang said Luo Yuan raised an eyebrow. 

Much sure was asking for a beat that he dared to spread gossip about them. 

"Muchen..!" Luo Yuan thought as clenched his fist under the table. 

"Did you say something?" Cheng Liang asked as he snapped Luo Yuan out of his introspections. Luo Yuan shook his head, withdrawing every thought of her.

"Nothing," he said and cleared his throat, and returned his attention to his work. Cheng Liang was confused by Luo Yuan's attitude.  

"You take a look at this matter again and think carefully, alright? And tell me about your decision at the event," he added.

Luo Yuan nodded at his statement and moved his gaze back to the screen. His face showed no emotions and his fingers flew across the keyboard. 

"Leave it, and tell me how the preparation for the event is coming along."  

"Everything is going on smoothly. The invitation has been sent to everyone whether they are in the entertainment industry or the beauty industry," Cheng Liang replied. Luo Yuan nodded his head as he continued typing. 

"Okay now leave my office."

Cheng Liang sneered at his retort. It was a usual thing for him now. Luo Yuan has been like this since their high school days; cold, snobbish, and robot-like. In his opinion, it was better to leave him alone than argue with him all the time. Cheng Liang stood on his feet and stretched himself before turning and walking out of the room leaving Luo Yuan alone with his thoughts.

Li Xia had already arrived at the studio where the shoot was held. She removed her sunglasses and went inside the make-up room to get ready for the shoot.

As usual, she met Mei Lin with her typical high-and-mighty self. Along with her assistant standing on the right side holding Mei Lin's stuff. And the makeup artist on the left side holding an eyeshadow palette in one hand and a brush in her other hand ready to apply her eye shadow. When the makeup artist noticed Li Xia's presence, she stopped what she was doing and greeted her.

"Good morning Miss Li!" she chirped as she put a smile on her face. Li Xia smiled politely and returned the greeting.

"I think you don't like your job as a makeup artist?" Mei Lin glared at the makeup artist through the mirror.

"Don't worry about me you do her makeup as she needs more make-up to hide her ugly self," Li Xia smirked before giving Mei Lin the look that meant 'What is it like to taste your own medicine?' and with that, she took her dress that was standing on the stand and headed towards the changing room.

Mei Lin growled while throwing the palette that was in the makeup artist's hand making her jump in fright.

"Darn her! I will teach you a lesson that you will remember for a long time!" Mei Lin cursed inwardly.
