2 Two

We entered the magnificent building. Kyle helped me climb the grand staircase which leads to our room. The room was huge and had a master bed in between with beautiful artificial flowers decorated on its edges. It felt more like a palace room with candle stands and red wallpaper. Maybe red is his favorite color, I thought to myself. I walked towards the beautiful dressing table which had a large mirror. I took off the makeup and jewelry finally feeling relieved. We were tired and weary, so we both changed into comfortable clothes. It was time to sleep but my insides were flipping at the thought of sleeping next to a complete stranger. Even though he was my husband now but we have just met a few hours ago. How am I supposed to remove this awkwardness between us? Ahhh, I was way too tired to think about it. So I quietly slide myself into the sheets. Keeping a pillow between the both of us. Kyle had already fallen asleep. I was a bit disappointed. Is this how a couple behaves on their wedding night? I was a bit hurt. He didn't give me a single look of love nor a single word of affection. Maybe he was forced to do this marriage. But then, he would've rejected in the first place. He doesn't seem to be a person who would easily be manipulated. These were some questions I knew would never be answered. I closed my eyes finally giving myself to sleep.

Next day:

The sun shone brightly over my face as I opened my eyes. I sat up on the bed. He was nowhere to be found. I quickly got out of bed and rushed towards the bathroom. I took a shower and quickly got dressed. I picked something casual to wear and put on light makeup. I hope I wasn't late for the breakfast. The clock struck 9:45 am. I went downstairs only to be greeted by an empty table as the maid was wiping the table. I was shocked and a bit disappointed. How can they do this to me? I mean it wasn't so late, yet they did breakfast without me? As if I wasn't there. "Madam please have a seat, I've been instructed to serve you with whatever you want to eat." She smiled at me. "I would like a french omelet." I sat down awkwardly still feeling heartbroken. Why are rich people so rude and proud? And if they wanted to do this to me why did they even bring me here? I heard footsteps approaching me. "Good morning dear." A sweet voice greeted me from the back. "Good morning Mrs. Anderson", I smiled at her trying to hide the pain of dejection. "I'm so sorry dear, I should've told you that we are quite punctual in everything. We have breakfast by 9 o'clock, lunch by 1:00 and dinner by 8:00. I hope I made myself clear here." She smiled sweetly. I nodded in reply and apologized for coming late. "You don't have to love, it wasn't your fault. You would've been tired so it's okay." She patted my shoulder. The maid put the omelet on the table and me being extremely hungry started eating heartily. "Eat well, and get dressed by 7:00 pm we have a dinner party at 8." She instructed me and left. She wasn't that rude as I presumed her to be. Maybe I shouldn't be so judgmental about people. I should give them some time. In fae to spend my whole life here so I should be flexible. The night came and I had trouble picking a dress for myself as I wasn't a fashionable person. Kyle was still at work. I picked a pink and silver gown that had beautiful floral patterns drawn on the edges. I quickly got dressed. The door of the room opened and Kyle came in. I was putting on makeup. He went inside the bathroom to take a shower. I took out a white shirt with a red tie, a grey waistcoat, and grey pants for him. I laid them on the bed and left the room. Within no time the door was unlocked indicating that he had gotten dressed. Damn, he's too fast. I walked inside the room watching him struggle with his tie. Does he not know how to wear a tie? I watched his cute pouty face while he tried to make a knot. "Do you need some help?" I asked. "Uh... Yeah." He was still struggling. I smiled and walked towards him and started fixing his tie. "You don't know how to wear a tie?" I asked casually. "Are you making fun of me?" He asked in an upset tone. "No, no! Why would I?" I was bamboozled by his sudden question. "Well, I don't like to wear ties." He replied softly. "Oh..." I was again disappointed. I thought a red tie would look good on him that's why I picked a tie for him. "Did you choose this for me?" He asked. "Yes." I smiled through the pain. "I must say your color choice is a bit odd. But oh well it doesn't matter. If you think I'll look good in this then you might be right. Because if you felt like that others would feel the same and who doesn't love appreciation and adoration." He set his hair with his fingers. Well someone's a bit proudly, I thought to myself. "Let's go we are getting late." He walked past me and I followed him. I looked like a servant more than a wife. God! Does he have to be so rude and arrogant all the time? This is literally my worst nightmare. We went downstairs and saw my in-laws already standing, all set to go. Jason wore a great formal tuxedo with a purple bow. Mrs. Anderson was wearing a really elegant, royal blue, a full-sleeved gown made of satin and silk and had a light shimmer to it. Mr. Anderson was also wearing a black tuxedo like his younger son. I was feeling insecure again. I don't know why my father thought of this marriage as we weren't even close to their status. This is too odd for me. I just hope that I fit in with them.
