Why hasn't Marissa left?

"I thought I'd surprise you two." she said, now giving a fixed smile. Marissa looked over at Justin. He didn't seem upset at all. He looked pleased. She had cooked all his favorites. He hugged her tight in appreciation. 

"Thanks Mom,this is very thoughtful." he said with a satisfied smile. 

"Anything for you Juan Miguel" she touched his cheeks briefly. 

"We just ate few hours ago Dimples," Marissa said with her lips in a tight smile. 

"I know, I know. But can't you see how mouth watering Mom's food is? Come sit."

"I really don't want to..."

"Sit Marissa," Karen interjected. "Even if you don't want to eat, at least have some cake and wine. You love red velvet cakes yeah? Also, the wine is completely safe for you and your baby if that's what you're worried about."
