Walking on eggshells

Lexi didn't realize how close she was to Aaron at first until she could hear him breathing down her neck. Her body was pressed against his and she carefully removed herself as soon as it was safe to get out of the closet. Justin had already texted them that the coast was clear. 

"So now we're alone, we need to set the cameras on the other parts of the house." 

"The living room, you mean?" Aaron asked. 

"Yeah of course," she replied. 

They were placing the cameras on the living room when they suddenly heard Justin's car pull back in the driveway. 

"Are they back so soon?" Lexi asked in panic. At that instant, she got a message from Justin saying they should run and hide somewhere. Alicia had forgotten her phone and wanted to fetch it. 

Lexa and Aaron ran to the room, not knowing where to hide. On impulse, Lexa slid under the bed without any difficulty. Of course, she was small, so it was not a problem.
