Slept with his ex

Her voice broke and her eyes were beginning to get ready for a downpour. In a couple of minutes though, Karen was present. She guessed she wasn't the only one who had the intention of spending time with him. 

"Now that I'm here, I'll need you to please leave" she said with a stony face. For Christ sakes it was a New Year already. Seemed like she was never gonna change. The last thing on Marissa's list was a verbal exchange with her when the new year had just begun. 

"I'll take my leave now," she stood up, grabbing her bag. She thought she saw Justin's finger move a little bit. She looked out for it again but it didn't move anymore. Was she seeing things or did it really happen? 

"Happy New Year Karen" she said at last, turning to go away. 

"Happy New Year, Marissa" came Karen's response. Her gaze lingered on for a while on Justin before she finally walked out and closed the door behind her.
