"What?!" Genevieve yelled, pushing her chair back as she stood up on her feet.

She looked at her father who was sitting domineering at his favorite chair and then her mother who was sitting by his side with her head down like the meek woman that she was.

"Mum, why does it seem like I heard something about marriage from what Dad said?" She asked, looking at her mother for a better explanation. She knew her mother was the only one she could talk to at this point.

"Eve.." she started and raised her head.

"Yes, mum." She awaited eagerly her answer, she hoped it wouldn't be the same as what her father just said.

Her mother held her hand gently and squeezed it, Genevieve wanted to take her hand off for this was not what she was looking for. She was not looking for emotional support, rather she wanted to hear something different from what her father just said entirely.

"Listen, Eve, this is for your good. We are doing this…."

"Don't tell me that mum, this isn't for my damn good!" She yelled, interrupting her mother who was startled by her sudden yell.

"Genevieve!" Her father called with a stern voice.

She glared at him as if daring him to come do his worst, what she had just heard from both of them was the worst thing her parents had ever told her. She would die before letting that happen.

"What father? So you want me to be docile and let you marry me off to someone who's the same age as Grandpa." She screamed at him.

Gosh, these people were driving her fucking mad. She thought they were about to approve her relationship with Ben when they called her to his office, but turns out another news was waiting for her. Rather than her father accepting her relationship, he arranged a marriage behind her back to a man old enough to be her grandpa…ewww.

"You will get married to Mr. Calhoun and that's final." Her father said with finality. She stared at both her parents in shock, she became speechless as every word she could think of went throw the window. She was drained.

"Why father? Tell me just one benefit that's for me in this so-called arranged marriage?" She asked, scowling at him.

Genevieve knew her father didn't like her, but this was the highest height of his hate, by arranging for her to get married to an old man.

"Look Eve…" he started, and her face almost fell, he called her that, but she stood firm.

"We are in huge debts, Eve, and we have no money to pay." He explained, and she almost snorted.

No money to pay, they have countless houses and buildings around the country, so he shouldn't pull this damn thing on her.

"What about the company's funds, the money you get from the apartments and buildings you have? Surely, those would be able to pay your debts, right?" She asked and nodded her head. Of course, it will be able to clear off their debts, she knows how much her father gets alone from one building, so the debt he owned would be paid off in no time, and she wouldn't have to marry that old monkey.

Her father sighed and then rubbed his brows,

"We have mortgaged everything, Eve, this house we are living in will be taken from us if we don't pay up quickly."

The shock on his daughter's face made Lucius Roman stop for a while. He almost revoked his words but they were already out and they were true. He knew what his daughter might be thinking now, he didn't like her, that's true, but he wouldn't be evil enough to pair her with someone older than himself. He never thought a day like this would come when his hands would be tied as he watched his daughter get married to someone older than her.

"I won't get married, father." She affirmed.

Although she has gotten the main reason why they insisted on her getting married to Mr Calhoun, she still wouldn't do it. She didn't understand how her father owned the money or where he borrowed it from and from the look of things she knew her father wouldn't tell her anything even if she asked, so she would leave that aside.

"Stop being so ungrateful and do as you are told for once, Eve." This time her mother spoke up after keeping quiet for a while.

Her head quickly snapped to her mother's as she stared at the strikingly green eyes she got from her.

"I can't believe you could say that, Mother. You want me your eldest daughter to get married to a pig, and you want me to easily agree to it…" she scoffed,

"Then you both must be joking." Her eyes didn't leave her mother's even while she was speaking,

"Since you've known that I don't do as you say, then I think you already know the answer to this mother. Mother, father I'm going to say this and I won't repeat myself," She smiled as her father clenched his fists.

"I am not getting married to Mr. Calhoun, whatever his name is and that's final. If that's all parents, I was in the middle of something when you called." She gave them one last look before heading for the door.

"If you dare take a step out, then know that this will be the last time you enter this house." Her father said as she held the knob of the door.

Her mother gasped loudly, and she turned to look at her father.

"What are you trying to do, father?" She asked with a bored smile.

"I've said it Genevieve, and I'm not changing or sugarcoating my words, if you step out of this mansion tonight, then this ceases to be your home. I cease to be your father from then henceforth." Mr. Roman barked as he stared at his stubborn daughter. She has always been like this, going against whatever he said and doing the opposite of it. But now, this would be the last time she does this, for he has already given her an ultimatum.

"You aren't serious, father." She was still in shock trying to process what her father just said, but the more she tried to find any sign of joking in her father's face, the more his face became more difficult to read.

"You have to try me to see whether I'm joking or not, Genevieve." He growled.

Genevieve stood in her spot, staring at her father for a long time, and then she smiled,

"I need to go out Father. I will be back soon." With that, she opened the door and left the room, ignoring her father's yells and the sounds of something breaking followed by her mother's screams.

Immediately she stepped out of the office, her legs wobbled, and she held the wall for support. Her father's words resonated in her head over and over again, lost in her thoughts, she didn't hear the soft footsteps coming closer.

"Are you okay?" A soft and calm voice asked, pulling her from her spiraling thoughts.

Genevieve raised her head and gritted her teeth when she saw the person standing before her,

"And who said something about me not being okay, Amelia?" She snorted.

The girl now known as Amelia smiled shyly as she tucked her hair behind her ear,

"I was only trying to show my concern, sister." Genevieve snorted and then pulled herself off the wall, she looked at her so-called sister and smiled.

"Right, we're sisters after all. Say, Amelia, would you do anything for me?" She asked with a cunning smile. Well, wouldn't it be amazing to watch the house filial child get married to the man instead?

Amelia gulped and nodded her head with a smile, her cheeks were flushed red as she spoke,

"You know I would." Genevieve almost threw up when she heard that, but she held herself.

"Good. Why don't you go in there and be the better daughter that you are and take care of father before he gets rushed to the hospital for having high blood pressure." She smiled and slowly patted Amelia's cheek.

She left there before Amelia could even answer, and immediately she was far from her her smile fell, and her hands clenched beside her. What she needed right now was a good booze and let loose, else she was going to run mad staying in this damn mansion.

She rushed to her room and locked the door, so nobody could come in, down with that she went into her walk-in closet and brought out the sexiest and shortest gown she had ever worn in her life. If her father wanted her to get married to an older man instead of her boyfriend, then how about she seduce her boyfriend tonight and get pregnant for him? She laughed wickedly at that thought, oh how she couldn't wait to see the look on her father's face when he saw that news.

She took a quick bath and did her makeup, which made her look more stunning and sexy, before slipping into the gown. She walked to her ceiling-to-floor mirror and smiled appreciatively at what she saw.

"It's showtime, Eve."
