1 Beginning Chapter 1

Mark found himself in a wooded area, disoriented and utterly bewildered.

Just moments ago, he had been comfortably seated at his computer, ready to write another fanfic exploring the intricacies of the multiverse.

He was, after all, a regular guy with a penchant for escaping the monotony of everyday life through creative writing.

Dressed in nothing more than cotton boxer shorts and flipflops, he suddenly realized that something extraordinary had occurred.

His body, despite his casual attire, bore the marks of peak human physique, with toned muscles and an impressive eight-pack.

It was as if he had been plucked from his mundane existence and thrust into an entirely different reality.

Mark's heart raced as he tried to make sense of his surroundings, his creative mind now faced with the most unexpected plot twist of his life.

As Mark took a moment to gaze at his newly transformed body, he couldn't help but admire the impressive change that had occurred.

His biceps were robust, his chest was a work of art, his abs were finely chiseled, and his thighs and legs were sculpted like a Greek god's.

He even spared a glance for his toned buttocks.

A grin of self-satisfaction crept across his face, a mix of delight for the unexpected alteration and a hint of narcissism.

He chuckled to himself, indulging in a playful monologue, "Well, I never expected a wardrobe change to come with a body upgrade. Guess I'll be turning some heads now."

Mark's astonishment deepened as he reached inside his briefs and retrieved his upgraded cellphone.

The device had undergone a remarkable transformation, now resembling something out of a sci-fi movie, with sleek black technology that looked both futuristic and mysterious.

As he stared at the screen, Mark couldn't believe his eyes. The information displayed before him seemed like something from a far-fetched fantasy:

He couldn't deny that something extraordinary had just happened to him, and he was about to embark on a journey into the unknown, armed with these incredible abilities and a body that seemed to defy reality.

Mark couldn't help but let out another sigh, followed by a hearty laugh. He had been in the middle of preparing to write some smut fiction as a way to pass the time, a guilty pleasure he indulged in when he couldn't find the kind of novels he truly wanted to read.

He had a particular fondness for Chinese fanfiction that revolved around world-hopping adventures, but he was always disappointed by the unwanted propaganda, nationalism, racism, and other unsettling elements that often crept into those stories.

It frustrated him to no end that some authors couldn't resist injecting such divisive themes into their works.

Mark yearned for wish-fulfillment stories, the kind where the hero triumphed against all, and take all the women. Unfortunately, it seemed like those stories were becoming increasingly rare.

Still, he held onto his love for imaginative tales of adventure, hoping that his own unexpected journey into the unknown would bring him the kind of escapades he had always craved, without the troubling baggage of prejudice and propaganda.

Mark's smartphone suddenly vibrated, and he couldn't help but curse softly when he saw the notification:

World: Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Shit. Running zombies.

He was in the midst of processing this startling information when a loud crash jolted his attention. It was a car that had slammed into a tree.

He immediately remembered the scene from the movie and knew he had to act quickly. With the Glock in hand, he briskly approached the wrecked car.

Inside, he found Ana, the female lead from the film, unconscious and leaning against the airbag.

Ana, a nurse who had witnessed her husband's horrifying death at the hands of a zombie, was a strong woman who had quickly adapted to the zombie apocalypse.

Her story was both tragic and inspiring.

Mark helped Anna sit upright, carefully pulling the airbag away.

He then gently wiped the blood from her face and released her from her seatbelt. As he looked at her unconscious face, he couldn't deny that he found her attractive.

A short while later, Anna stirred and slowly opened her puffy eyes.

As Ana opened her eyes and looked at the man before her, her heart stirred in a way she hadn't expected.

She found herself staring at one of the most attractive men she had ever seen in her life.

His handsome face, framed by wavy black hair, deep black eyes, a perfect nose, and lips that seemed almost too good to be true, left her momentarily breathless.

His lean, muscled body only added to his undeniable appeal.

But as quickly as those thoughts had come, they were overtaken by guilt and grief for her late husband.

The weight of her emotions, the trauma she had endured, and the overwhelming reality of the situation all crashed down on her at once, and she began to break down.

The man in front of her seemed to fumble for something, but then he shook his head and gently wiped away her tears with his hand.

His voice, filled with concern, broke through her turmoil.

"Let's get you out of your car first and leave here," he suggested, his words a comforting anchor in the midst of chaos. "It's a little dangerous to stay here."

Ana nodded in response to Mark's suggestion, and with slow, deliberate movements, she crawled out of the wrecked car.

Her eyes wandered for a moment, and she couldn't help but notice the lengthy bulge she saw on him, her thoughts momentarily wandering.

Mark, however, remained focused on her well-being.

He gently scooped her up under her arms, surprised by how light she felt, and carefully pulled her out of the car.

His concern deepened when he noticed the sorry state of her bare feet, bruised, sliced, and bleeding.

"Can you walk? Your feet are banged up," Mark asked, genuine worry in his voice.

"I can still manage it," Ana replied with a small smile, attempting to distract herself from her injuries. She took a few hesitant steps forward but winced as pain shot through her.

Mark couldn't bear to see her in pain, and he quickly stepped in front of her. "Geez, let me carry you on my back if it's alright with you. It looks painful," he offered, extending his hands to her, ready for her to hop on his back.

Ana, feeling a mix of vulnerability and trust in the man before her, acquiesced to his offer. She leaned on him, her arms gently wrapping around his neck, and she locked her legs around his waist.

Their proximity and her exposed skin brushing against him sent a subtle warmth through her.

As she took in a whiff of his natural scent, she found it surprisingly calming, as if it had the power to momentarily soothe her turbulent emotions.

Unbeknownst to Mark, she still remembered the intriguing bulge she had noticed earlier.

Her eyes closed, and she unconsciously rested her head on the side of his neck, finding an unexpected sense of comfort in his presence.

With Ana securely on his back, Mark straightened up, his grip firm on the back of her left thigh.

Her presence against him made her wiggle slightly, and he couldn't help but smirk happily at the unexpected situation.

With his Glock held in his right hand, facing downward, he began walking forward.

In the distance, he spotted the

Anna's curious question about his choice of cotton shorts in such a situation brought a sheepish laugh from Mark.

Her warm breath against his neck, combined with the ticklish sensation, made him chuckle before he responded.

Anna, her curiosity piqued, had to ask as they ventured further.

Her voice was soft but inquisitive as she inquired, "Why are you on cotton shorts?"

Her nose remained against Mark's neck, and her closed eyes continued to absentmindedly sniff his soothing scent, unintentionally making him a little ticklish from her warm breath.

"Well, let's just say I wasn't exactly dressed for the occasion," he replied, finding humor in the absurdity of their situation.

Anna, still nestled against Mark's back with her nose against his neck, couldn't help but smile faintly at his response.

"Fair enough," she said softly, her voice carrying a touch of gratitude for his help and a hint of amusement at the unexpectedness of their encounter.

Anna couldn't help but chuckle softly at Mark's response, her breath warm against his neck as she continued to nuzzle inquisitively. "I mean, you don't have a choice.

Look at me, I'm in my thin pajamas," she noted, her voice tinged with amusement as she glanced down at her attire.

However, her lighthearted tone shifted as she remembered the harrowing events that had transpired earlier.

She wrapped her arms around Mark's neck more tightly, seeking comfort in his presence, and tilted her face to find a comfortable resting position against the side of his neck.

Mark, understanding Anna's need for a moment of respite, remained good-naturedly silent as they approached the black police officer with the shotgun.

"Good day, officer. It's a shitty start for a morning for us," Mark greeted the officer with a grin, offering a bit of humor in an otherwise dire situation.

Anna, initially surprised by Mark's casual greeting, looked ahead.

She wiggled slightly, seemingly wanting to go down, but Mark playfully slapped her buttocks, causing her to stop moving.

She lay on his back quietly, her gaze fixed on the officer, her curiosity evident in her expression.

As Anna offered a warm smile to the officer, her grip on Mark's neck tightened instinctively when she saw him holding a shotgun.

Mark, understanding her unease, gently tapped her thigh repeatedly to provide reassurance and calm her nerves.

Kenneth, the serious and no-nonsense man with the shotgun, observed the pair in front of him.

Despite his stern demeanor, he couldn't help but feel a hint of sympathy for them.

Both Mark and Anna were dressed in their sleepwear, a clear indication that they had escaped in a hurry.

Surviving until now was a stroke of luck, and he couldn't deny the pitiful circumstances of their situation.

Kenneth, having had his fair share of close calls in this chaotic world, felt a sense of relief at encountering someone who appeared relatively normal.

He spared a passing glance at Mark's gun but made no immediate issue of it, instead choosing to walk away, heading into the woods.

Mark, ever adaptable and trying to keep the situation as calm as possible, simply shrugged and followed Kenneth, patting Anna's thigh soothingly.

Anna, nestled against him, continued to rest her head on his shoulder, finding solace in his presence as they ventured further.

As Mark and Anna followed Kenneth along the path, the distant sounds of panic and carnage on the highway served as a grim reminder of the dire situation that surrounded them.

The chaos was a stark contrast to their current, relatively peaceful surroundings.

Mark, cautious and mindful of their safety, kept a respectful distance from Kenneth as they approached a pedestrian tunnel.

His memory of a similar situation from the movie, where someone had mistakenly shot at Kenneth when he reached the other side, made him keen to avoid any accidental conflicts.

As Kenneth emerged on the other side of the pedestrian tunnel, a gunshot rang out, narrowly missing him.

Quickly reacting, he took aim at the source of the shot, a tense standoff unfolds.

The tension in the air was palpable as both parties assessed the situation, ready to respond to any further threats.

Mark spotted the familiar figures of Luda, Andre, and Michael – the other characters from the movie – he approached Kenneth cautiously, carrying Anna on his back.

He chose to ignore them for the time being.

Instead, he headed toward the fence of the mall, focusing on their immediate goal and leaving the encounter with the others for later consideration.

Anna couldn't help but feel curious as she glanced back at the others, wondering if they should simply leave the group behind.

Mark, however, reassured her, "They will follow, don't worry." His confidence in their ability to catch up gave her a sense of reassurance.
